      I hired Mold Test Company (MTC) to do a mold inspection for the house we were going to purchase. I chose MTC because on Home Advisor, they advertise they are not affiliated with any remediation company as that would be a conflict of interest. Inspection was done on 10/28 WITH DOORS WIDE OPEN (doors/windows should be closed at least 24 hrs for an accurate test). I prepaid for the results to be expedited - per ***** (MTC rep), so results would be available ***** hours after the samples were sent in. Collection was received on 11/1 and analyzed on 11/2. Date of the written survey was not done and sent until 11/7 - WAY after I was supposed to receive it. Report showed mold in the house (Cladosporium and a type of black mold, Alternaria) that was "actively reproducing." **** did my interpretation and said remediation was needed immediately. When I asked for the protocol, he said they could include that for an extra fee (can't remediate without a protocol). He recommended a remediation company, which I thought was contrary to what was advertised, but thought since he was from the lab, there wasn't a conflict of interest. He connected me directly and I spoke with the "manager" by the name of **** from ************* They claim to use "nontoxic products" but when I went to the website, it CLEARLY states that they ARE affiliated with MTC and their products are carcinogenic (per MSDS). "Remediation" was to be done by us and not the company - they would send us all necessary supplies for $1800. I've been through remediation before and this did not sit right with me. I spoke with several other remediation companies who all said that is not what remediation is and that a protocol was necessary. I ended up doing another mold test with a reputable company, and the test came back clean. MTC RESULTS YIELDED A FALSE POSITIVE BECAUSE OF INAPPROPRIATE TESTING METHODS. The company refunded the expedite fee but refusing to refund my money claiming that testing was done appropriately.

      Written Protocol: A written protocol is not part of our base inspection packages; you must specifically request the written protocol be added to the inspection package for an additional charge. 

      We did refund the expedited service, but we stand by the inspection and the results. You could have requested a protocol be written before the inspection.

      I am rejecting this response because:

      First of all, this is not about the protocol. A protocol was not even offered. So if someone is not familiar with the remediation process, how would one know to even request for one? Second of all the lab results were what they were because the methodology used was incorrect. Doors and windows are not supposed to be left open as that will compromise the results - external air samples are always higher and by leaving the doors and windows open during the test increases the internal air sample counts. Im not refuting that the lab results are in accurate. The lab results showed what they did because the inspector who came to do the test left all  the doors open and compromised the results. This lead to a false positive result If the testing was done appropriately, the results would have been accurate, and there would have been no mold found on the lab results. Standing by a false positive result is synonymous with saying someone was diagnosed with cancer, but someone elses tests were used to diagnose and you still stand by the diagnosis and having that person go through chemotherapy and radiation because thats what the test showed. If your company was reputable, you would refund the money because the test itself was not done properly, which led to the lab finding what they found, which was ultimately not accurate. I have the test results from another company that is reputable to prove it.

      We do not have anything in the inspection reports or files that the windows and doors were open. Our inspector had to wait for the realtor to arrive. The realtor was there while our inspector performed testing. We stand by the inspection, results and final outcome.

      I am rejecting this response because:

      There was literally nothing in the report that was complete - not even notes from the inspector about what area of the house was swabbed nor were there pictures of the area and equipment of what was used for the inspection. THAT is what is on a legitimate report done by a reputable company (something that was provided by the company who did things right and the report came back clean). I had to call ****** myself to speak with him about where he took the swab samples. The owners and realtors were all here so there are multiple parties that can corroborate this FACT. The report that you standby is based on shoddy work fraught with inappropriate methodology. There is nothing accurate about the report to standby.

      Mold is a health issue. Unknown to me a water leak occurred in the apartment I bought 2 months before I bought it. As a result, mold has been found in at least one of the apartments below mine. I contacted Mold Test Company and a few days later *************************** came to my apartment with a small bottle and swabs, which he said was to test the air quality and the swabs for mold. I also sent off urine sample to their lab. On November 23, 2022, I was told by ********************* who sent me the mold test results, the level was high and I needed to move quickly to get it cleaned up. A few minutes later I read the results and realized the report had a wrong address. I send ***** an e-mail and voice mail pointing this out. I also sent ***** a copy and keep asking for it to be changed, up to 11/25/22 it has not been changed. This means it is useless. ********************* told me about step 2 at a cost of a further $3,250.00. He immediately had it charged to my credit card. Less than half-hour later after reading the bad reviews about the company I called ***** that day and left a voice mail and sent an e-mail to him, saying, I was cancelling the payment. I spoke with him the next day, he said he is not refunding my money. He will put it on hold. I told him no, cancel it. I also paid $349 for the mold test, plus $599.00 for the medical test.

Specifically, ***** Works for the *************** I have various emails to confirm this. I am requesting that the $3250.00 be returned to me immediately, as no services have been rendered aside from some basic mold swabbing/testing.

      I am rejecting this response because: Mold Test Company and ************** are one and the same company. I was dealing with Mold Test company; I was not given a different telephone number for **************. I was transferred every time. I have documents from the website to prove they have the same address, and they are one and the same crooked company. I am unable to attach the documents because after downloading the document from Mold Test Company website, when I tried to open it, my computer crashed. Apparently, there was a virus attached to their document. A technician was able to get the email going again but I cannot scan, it seems the Mold Company virus was able to damage my scan feature also.  My money must be returned to me, so pay now as you did not provide a service for the $3,250.00. Holding on to my money proves Mold Test company and ************** are one and the same set of crooks running both companies. You have me paying technicians to get rid of viruses plus the money you have stolen, the no good incomplete medical test, and the time spent writing to BBB. RETURN MY MONEY NOW. YOU DID NO WORK FOR IT, SO YOU ARE A THIEF. Filing again with ************** is a waste of time as I would just be going through the same thing I am going through now. I need help, BBB, BBB please help me, I need to get my money back and look for a reputable company to find out if there is mold in the apartment. I have a compromised immune system. 

      I made a mistake when I checked the Health Information. That is not needed to recover my money.

      MOLD TEST COMPANY **************************************************************** 844 333 **** I hIred the Mold Test Company do my testing because when I called I was told your company is not affiliated with any remediation companies. I wanted unbiased recommendations When the tester came to my home, he told me he was going to do an inside and outdoor air sample. When he arrived my 650 SQ foot home had 9 windows and the door open and it was a windy day, there was a lot of outside air in my home. I asked if we should close the windows, he said no. When I got my results I was transferred to the Biocide Labratories from an internal line. Clearly Mold Test Company is affliated with Biocide Labratories. Both people I spoke with gave me the hard sell on foggers. I thought I was just buying foggers and an airscrubber but I was also sent gallons of Biocide that i didnt want. I was not sent the invoice until after my credit card was charged. I contacted a licensed Mold inspector who told me my test had been cross contaminated with outdoor air, so the test results were not accurate. He told me air scrubbers and foggers dont work. He told me to do a thorough cleaning and retest. Biocide Labratories told me the foggers are non toxic. They contain a chemical that is a carcinogen, so I was also misled about that. They have agreed to let me return $303 of the products, but I want to return all because the TEST results were inaccurate. I would like a refund for the Biocide products which I paid ***** for based on:inaccurate test results, the outdoor mold count is very high and there was a lot of outdoor air in my house Selling me gallons of Biocide I didnt know I was buying portraying the foggers to be safe when they actually contain a toxic chemical Telling me that the Mold Test Company is not affiliated with remediation companies when they are actually affliated with Biocide Labrotories

      July 28, 2022 Paid $599.00 We were told we would receive a phone call from a nurse within the hour of purchase and would receive a do it yourself mold test kit that same day of purchase. We have not received a phone call from a nurse and the test kit never arrived.We told them we wanted a refund that same day we purchased it after we didn't receive test kit or call from nurse as promised. They told us today that are claim for a refund was not going to be honored even though services were never rendered.We are seeking a refund for $599.00, this is only right, for the fact that services were never rendered.

      We have reviewed the recordings. The kit was sent out the same day. Our refund policy is that once the order is received and processed there is a no refund policy.       I am rejecting this response because for starters we never received the kit. I cancelled with the sales agent ***** within the 1st hour of purchase. We were never told we couldn't receive a refund. We were told by ***** that we would receive a refund. $******. I just want my money back. I was scammed for ****** by your company due to services were never rendered. Try is is bad business by your company.

      We have a no refund policy. Upon ordering we use an automated system that pushes the order through immediately. Once the kit is ordered the fee is earned upon receipt. We will still accept the kit for testing through our lab.
