On **** **, 2023, I brought my 2014 ********* ****** in to check my air conditioning system. I paid $65.00. We were advised that we had to have a new compressor kit installed, which would cost $1382.51. We declined and picked up the vehicle on the same day. When the car was parked at home, we noticed that the radiator cooling fan was still running. When we called Auto Air of Macon, we were advised that the diagnostic would not have caused the issue. Now, we had to take our vehicle to the dealership and pay approximately $200.00 for another diagnostic. I want my money back and my car fixed!

Thank you for sending us this issue.

The vehicle was brought to us with an air conditioning issue. The A/C was not cooling.  We checked the air conditioning circuit and found that the compressor had failed and needed to be replaced. To ensure the best quality job, and following industry guidelines, we also replace the accumulator, orifice tube and put on new orings.  We follow the recommended time to service the air conditioning system.  The charge the $65.00 diagnosis fee for the time a mechanic spends checking the air conditioning system, putting on refrigerant guage set, inspecting the hoses, condenser etc. The complaint of a fan not turning off, unfortunately for Ms. ******* has no relationship to the air conditioning system. This is caused by a number of things, blocked radiator, engine over heating, but the most typical reason on a ********* ****** is a malfunctioning temperature sensor or relay.

As a gesture of good faith, we are willing to refund the $65.00 diagnosis fee, but can assure Ms. ******* that the cause of her engine fan continuing to run was not caused by us checking the air conditioning system.

If you wish to contact Mac M***** on ************ we can organize the refund.

I was told I would need to leave my car over night. When I I got to Auto air they charged me $65 for a 5 mins diagnosis to replace the air compressor for $1400. The problem with my air condition was that it had too much Freon in it. Now the air is working fine. The quick diagnosis was to earn a quick $65 and replace the air compressor which did not need replacing. I feel this was and inappropriate diagnosis and more could have been done determine the issue. After speaking to other repair shops it was determined that by measuring the Freon level and releasing some of the fluid the problem could be resolved. I trusted and relied on Auto Airs expertise to provide me with a solid, fair and honest quote. I’m extremely disappointed with the misdiagnosed fee I was charged

We apologize for the inconvenience and the misdiagnosis.  When the car arrived, the complaint was the air conditioning was working intermittently.  Upon inspection, the compressor was not pumping when the car was at idle.  We did not detect an overcharge of refrigerant.
We are glad that you were able to get your issue resolved, unfortunate that we misdiagnosed the issue.
We will gladly offer you a refund for the $65.00 diagnostic since it was incorrect.
Please contact ***** **** ************************* ** ************ ** ****** *** ****** *************************** ** ************ to let us know when you would like to come by and get your refund processed.
Again, we apologize for the inconvenience.
