Stay away from this place! On 25 June 2024, I took my **** Chevy ***** to Auto Air of Macon when the air conditioner started to blow hot air. After waiting for awhile, I was hastily provided an estimate right before closing at a cost of $65. Per the diagnosis of Auto Air, the compressor, receiver drier, condenser, evaporator and expansion valve were all bad and in need of replacement. The total cost of Auto Air’s estimate was $1691.26. Recognizing that such an estimate was an attempt at price gouging, I took my vehicle to a reputable auto repair shop near me where it was determined that the only part in need of replacement was indeed the expansion valve. The part was replaced and my vehicle is now blowing cold air.

Thank you for your feedback on the BBB site. Our service Manager remembered the vehicle as it was also noted on our work order. Our lead technician diagnosed the vehicle and discovered a leak at the compressor and the rear evaporator, the rear expansion valve was also restricted. When an air conditioning system is leaking, the refrigerant is low, and the oil no longer circulates in the system. This causes contamination from the compressor heating up and the Teflon inside the compressor breaking down. This is contamination goes throughout the system and if not cleaned and contaminated parts replaced, it will cause the premature failure of the repaired system. We understand replacing the expansion valve and recharging the vehicle with refrigerant may seem like the repair was completed, but unfortunately the system is likely still leaking and will need to be repaired correctly at a future date.

I have brought my classic 72 Oldsmobile Cutlass Macon Auto Air 4 times for a total air conditioning replacement. My air conditioning still doesn't work. The A/C blower stop working and I received a phone call today from the manager Derek T*** telling me there is nothing more he can due to fix my issues. I have spent over 2,800 with this organization. This is unacceptable. So, requesting a full refund and I will be taking this to small claims court. Thank you.
