On Feb. 28 Wirks moved me from Gwinnett to Hall county. Scheduled to arrive at 11:00 they showed up at 9:00 am. and remained on the narrow street blocking traffic for 2 hours. It was less than a 10 minute drive to my new home. I got to my new home when they finished loading and waited a little over 30 minutes before they showed. It was OK, I knew they had to eat lunch, but I didnt know that they would charge me for their lunch time. They unloaded the truck without incident. When they were completely done, I instructed one of the movers to place the glass tops on the coffee and the end tables (they were leaving the glass covers in boxes). I went upstairs to check and noticed that the purple couch was leaned up against the wall instead of being placed on the floor in a usable position. I came back downstairs and inquired why the purple chair was not in a usable position. The Hispanic/Caucasian person responded that the legs for the purple couch were missing. I instructed him to remove the legs from the red couch which was in the garage and place them on the purpled couch. I then checked to make sure the legs were on; checked upstairs again to make sure all the items were in their place. All items were already unloaded from truck. The driver then came in, gave me a total and handed me a yellow paper. (See attached.). I gave the driver a check. The person who could have been the youngest of the 5 walked in and I inquired if he has children. He responded in the affirmative. I asked if he would like a signed copy of one of my childrens books. He said yes. I gave him a signed copy, asked for and wrote down his CashApp ID. He then left. The rest of the crew came back inside. 2 of them asked for signed copies of the book. I obliged and took their CashAppID. The rest of the crew provided their CashApp ID. I wrote them all down. They left a few minutes before 4:00 pm. Wirks did not credit my $50.00 deposit and claimed the crew left at 5:30 pm. They are CROOKS. DO NOT USE.

    Dear *****,

We appreciate your feedback regarding your recent move with Wirks. We have thoroughly reviewed your concerns and would like to provide additional information regarding the issues you raised.

Regarding the timing of the arrival, we understand that you mentioned our team showed up at 9:00 am instead of the scheduled 11:00 am. We apologized many times for the confusion and we did not charge for the time that our team was waiting to start the move. We strive to dispatch all of our moves correctly but mistakes do happen and this was certainly a time that we dropped the ball. I apologize again for that as it is never our intention to add more stress to move day.

Regarding the lunch break charge, that is certainly an oversight on our end and I would be happy to refund the equivalent of a 30 minute lunch. Please email our team with the address to which we can mail that check.

Regarding the $50.00, we are very clear and upfront that it is not a deposit, but a reservation fee that guarantees the arrival of our team and helps to cover the cost of coordinating and dispatching your team. We have this written in both our estimates and contracts

In regards to the interaction with our moving team members and the exchange of children's books, we apologize for any confusion that *** have arisen during that time. While we strive to maintain professional conduct and ensure efficient service, we understand that personal interactions can sometimes occur. We will remind our team members about the importance of maintaining a professional environment during the moving process.

We genuinely apologize for any inconvenience or frustration caused during your move, and we appreciate your patience as we address these matters. We value your feedback and will use it to improve our services moving forward. If there is anything else we can do to assist you or address any outstanding concerns, please do not hesitate to reach out to us directly.

Thank you for bringing these issues to our attention, and we hope to have the opportunity to serve you better in the future.

    Sincerely,

    Wirks Moving & Storage, Inc.

I hired Wirks Moving And Storage to move me from ******* ******* to ********* **** in February. I was only to have a 4 man crew for the move, however, on moving day, several car loads of guys showed up. My things were moved out of my home on February 22 and taken to Wirks' warehouse until February 26 which was the day the trucks headed to *********. My items were moved into a storage unit here in ********* to remain until I found a home which wasn't until June. I purchased insurance for $595 covering my belongings for the full face value knowing my furniture was brand new from Havertys as well as other expensive items such as clothing and other household goods. My move cost $16k. I asked that boxes and clothing go in last so that we could get things we needed but the movers did the opposite. In June my things were moved into my home by a local company and as they took the items from the storage unit we saw they were destroyed and many items stolen. Glass and wood chips fell from the blankets. I immediately contacted Wirks to file a claim and to complain. The manager (***) along with his assistant (****) helped me to complete the claim form only to deny it. Interstate claims could be filed up to 9 months after move, however, after my things were placed into the storage units the movers had me initial a form that basically voided the insurance saying I only had 96 hours to file a claim which was impossible. The only resolution I was offered out of a claim for nearly $23k was Wirks would give me my insurance money back of $595. My fur coat $6700, other coats/jackets, jeans, liquor, other household goods and furniture all stolen and destroyed by this company's workers and they refuse to pay. The form I initialed after the move I felt didn't apply to me. This company knew I was going to a storage unit when I hired them. I asked how much it would've cost to unwrap/wrap each piece of furniture as the unloaded the truck and loaded the storage... worst company ever.

    Dear *******,

We apologize for the issues you encountered during your move with Wirks Moving And Storage. We understand the frustration and disappointment caused by the damage and loss of your belongings. We would like to address your concerns and provide you with more information regarding the situation.

I will start by apologizing that this review was not responded to sooner. We strive to respond to every customer's feedback in a timely manner.

We regret any confusion regarding the number of crew members present on your moving day. While we strive to ensure efficient and timely service, it appears that there may have been some miscommunication or scheduling oversight. We apologize for any inconvenience caused by this discrepancy.

Regarding the handling of your items and the placement of boxes and clothing in the truck, we understand your preference for specific items to be loaded last. We apologize if our team did not follow your instructions accordingly. We will use this feedback to improve our communication and coordination with our moving crews in the future.

We understand that your belongings were stored in a storage unit until June when they were moved into your new home by another moving company. We apologize for the damage and loss you experienced during this process. However, we would like to clarify that the damages to the items were not reported until after another professional mover handled your items and since a full inventory, including exceptions, was not provided, we had no way to know the origin of the damages.

We sympathize with the loss you have incurred, and we understand your disappointment with the resolution offered. While we cannot provide full compensation for the items lost and damaged, we did offer to refund the insurance fee of $595 as a gesture of goodwill.
We sincerely apologize for any misunderstanding regarding the form you initialed after the move. We understand that you believed it did not apply to your situation. We will review our documentation and procedures to ensure that any future forms clearly communicate the terms and conditions to our customers.

Once again, we apologize for the inconvenience, frustration, and loss you experienced during your move. We appreciate your feedback and will use it to improve our services and avoid similar issues in the future. Thank you for bringing these matters to our attention.

    Sincerely,

    Wirks Moving & Storage, Inc.
