Transaction occurred on 5/16/2023. We entered into an agreement to repair a refrigerator. Mt. ****************** came and suggested he knew what the problem was and could fix it. He had previously come to check it out but his diagnosis was incorrect. He told me the price of the part and his labor was $750.00. I wrote a check for that amount. Weeks passed and he finally returned with the part. It did not fix the problem. He supposedly checked with **************** to diagnose the problem. Several weeks passed and I still did not hear from him. He kept promising me he would show up but never did. I advised him I wanted a refund of $700.00, allowing him to keep $50.00 for his time' He kept assuring me he would get the part and complete the work. According to Mr. ****************** the part arrived 7/7/23. I advised him I would be out of town and we could set a date for 7/24/23 which he agreed to. I've just been getting excuses. His last response was on 7/26/23 acknowledging he would send a refund. He has refused to respond to additional text messages.Initial Complaint

I found Thompson Mechanical LLC online to do repairs for my whirlpool dryer Javonte ****************** came out initially to see what was going on with the dryer. Initial charge was $125. He then said the part needed to be ordered and contact him when I was ready for him to come and do the work the balance would be 225 I contacted Mr. ****************** the weekend of 17 June. He said he would be at my home on Monday morning, the 19th to do the work Monday morning Mr. ****************** did not show up did not respond to phone calls or text then finally called and advised he was at the store to pick up the part. Go ahead and send the $225 and he would see me shortly after that Mr. ****************** did not respond to phone calls did not respond to text messages so I then had my boyfriend call him and he answered at that time. He advised he was working on some thing and he would see me on Tuesday morning June 20 between 10 and 12 at 10 AM my boyfriend called and Mr. ******************s girlfriend answered and advise. He was working with another customer he Monday morning Mr. ****************** did not show up did not respond to phone calls or text then finally called and advised he was at the store to pick up the part. Go ahead and send the $225 and he would see me shortly after that Mr. ****************** did not respond to phone calls did not respond to text messages so I then had my boyfriend call him and he answered at that time. He advised he was working on some thing and he would see me on Tuesday morning June 20 between 10 and 12 at 10 AM my boyfriend called and Mr. ******************s girlfriend answered and advised he was working with another customer. He would call us back. Mr. ****************** never called back , my boyfriend and text him. He did not respond to the text at that time. I text him and advised that I had been waiting all day Monday. He did not answer the phone or respond to text messages until my boyfriend spoke with him and now another day he has not showed up. I also advised him if he could not do the work to please return my money ASAP , Mr. ****************** still did not respond. He finally called back and advised he did not have the part after which we advised him to return our money and he did not do so.Initial Complaint

I hired Thompson Mechanical, LLC to repair a dryer. I had previously used this company, who sent out two employees who were nice and seemed knowledgeable. However, upon calling the company for another repair on a different dryer, the owner of the business came out. This time I was completely scammed. The owner, Javonte ******************, said that a part needed to be ordered and asked that I pay $450 in advance. I attempted to pay with a credit card, which he informed me would require that he add 6% to the cost, and that he would prefer to be paid by check, which I did. The check was cashed immediately, and Mr. ****************** has not been back and no longer takes my calls or returns messages. By searching Yelp reviews I have now discovered that this is not the first time this has happened, so he has stolen from other customers before. He should be put out of business! As an aside, I am a 78 year-old retiree living on a fixed income.Initial Complaint

I had a broken washing machine and beeping noise on my dryer. Had them come out. The ************ worked on the appliances for 2 days and I paid the $600 that I was charged. About 6 days later the washer broke down, completely dead. After trying to call them for weeks and never getting a single response, my husband tried and spoke with *******, the owner. After many calls he agreed to fix the appliances again. He never came out and stopped receiving our calls. I had to buy a new washer and dryer and was out $600 to begin with. Do not use this company. I usually don't post reviews. but this one was a significant cost and deeply unsatisfied.Initial Complaint

Wrote the technician a check for services and received an invoice. The dryer was completed weeks after multiple attempts were made to contact the owner. The washer was not fixed that night. The next day we found that he ordered the wrong part. He mentioned a refund but its been weeks and the owner stopped communicating. Its been since Jan 9th and still no refund for the money I spent or work done to the washer.Business Response

Dishwasher (**) died. I had an electrician check it out, for no power. Found it had power, but the digital readout was blank. Diagnosis the Motherboard needed to be replaced. refridgerator's ice maker (IM) was also malfunctioning, i wanted to have them looked at together. The week of December 12th, I called for an appointment. Got one for Friday, Dec 16th. ******* showed up at my door early. He reviewed the appliances. He wanted a check for $390 then and he said the technician would be out in the afternoon to fix it. He said it was his buisness and this saved the technicians from having to deal with money. I was hesitant to provide a check to someone i didn't know and have him leave without fixing anything. His technican came that afternoon. I did not watch him fix the *** but he gave me the 'old'part. He then steamed the IM line. but i think the real problem was the water flow. Over the weekend, There was almost no ice production. ** worked fine. I called on Tuesday when there was still no ice production to asking for return visit.He could come out on Dec 26th. Later that week, Dec 22nd, the ** stopped working. it appeared dead, just like before. I called Javonte & got him on the phone. He said he was coming out on Monday btwn ****. I said that was ok. On Monday, I waited until about 1 pm and then called to see where they were. No answer to the buisness phone #. The ** box was full. Unable to leave a message. I received a text shortly after that he was sick. I was sympathetic and it did not have to be him. I never heard from him again. I have texted, left numerous ** and one email. When I initially called, there was a girl who set the appt. It is now Jan 14th and I am still without a ** and an IM. The ** is totally nonfunctional. He has not tried to contact me by text or phone. Even his invoice does not have is phone number. No follow up service here. Do not recommend this company.Initial Complaint

On 10/19, I contacted this business asking for a repair to the water main to my home. I dug down to the pipe and located a leak in the *** pipe. I was told that the fee for the service call would be $125 and that this fee would apply toward the repair if I elected to have this business perform the repair. Mr. ******* ****************** came to my home, viewed the broken pipe and eventually offered to perform the repair for $550. I agreed. He then asked me to pay him $550 in advance. By now, my home had been without water for about 3 hours. Wife coming home from school and grandson coming home from school. Believing Mr. ****************** to be an honest businessman, I paid $550 using Zelle. I was told that the repair technicians would be there as soon as they wrapped up the job they were at. 2 hours later, no one has shown up and Mr. ****************** does not answer my text message. An hour and a half after that, I call. No answer - only a "send a text" message. I inquired about the ** of the repair crew. His reply - "not sure, let me check". 15 minutes later, nothing. I called another business who promptly dispatched a technician. I informed Mr. ****************** that I was no longer in need of his services. The following day, (10/20) I asked when I may expect to receive my $425 refund. He replied "by the end of the day". The next day, (10/21) I asked for the refund via Zelle and he told me that "I will get a check in the mail". I asked for the check number. No reply. Now, 6 days later, I still have received nothing. This is irresponsible and unethical behavior. I demand a refund of $425 for work not performed.
