50 Floors started carpet installation at the home. The staple gun used to staple the carpet kept short circuiting my electricity; tripping the circuit box, and the installer was unable to staple the carpet. The installer left the carpet as is and stated he would be back the next day with a generator to complete the installation. The installer failed to show and I have not been able to contact anyone in the company to get any help.Business Response

I purchased vinyl floors for living room, hallway, kitchen, and dining area. A few days later the floors started lifting. Called company. They told me it needed to be removed and replaced with other product. A few months later scratches started happening all over floor. Called customer service and told ********************* are scratch resistant not scratch proof. Now almost 2 years later floor have a complete pop. Called again and told that's normal. I have Called other companies and told the floors are not even and that's why you have this problem. General manager told me same thing that it's nothing and normal. I must enjoy punishment because before the pop I used company for tiles in my bathroom and carpet in bedroom. All together I have spent close to 10k. Now the tiles are uneven with dirt on grout a few months later. General manager again comes and said uneven is normal. I have never heard of such a thing. I want them to fix all my floors.Business Response

We hired 50Floor based on an add over the 4th of July holiday to take advantage of their sale. We met with a nice salesman and believed everything he said about how the job would be handled. To make a VERY long story short, we contracted for carpet, hardwood floors and to remove carpet from the stairs and restore our stairs to original wood. We were told by the salesman that the stairs would be a 3-day job. They came after 5pm and at 7pm they were done with the stairs, same day. At each step of the job (except for the carpet) when the workers arrive, they tried to upsell us at each point. First the 2nd floor stairs were not "level" and needed to be built up with concrete (up sell). OK, we did not disagree. Well during that job, concrete ran thru to the 1st floor and on the new carpet, they cleaned it up and danced all around replacing the carpet. Then they tried to upsell the stairs tells us that the wood was weak as was going to split, we did not fall for that one. The removed the carpet and the stairs were fine - and only stained the stairs but refused to finish the painting and told us that our job did not include that they paint the risers. We painted it ourself, because we want them gone. When the hardwood job was supposed to be done, the molding is still not complete at each door way. They play this courtesy game called "We'll send someone out". That person always comes to say that we, the homeowners don't understand the assignment and "this" is "that". They agreed the molding is wrong and would order and replace. That was two weeks ago, 7/7/2022. Today we called and they don't have any memory, meaning the correct molding has not been ordered. This job started in July. It is not September 23, 2022 and a manager is finally coming to "take a look" at the incomplete job. They have already been paid, and after that final payment, they really stopped caring. I would not use their service again and will tell everyone we know not to use them. Done!Business Response

The laminate flooring used is deteriorating at the edges. We contacted 50 Floor, because we were told the flooring was under warranty for 10 years. The flooring is covered, but not the labor. The flooring was installed September 21, 2020. A kitchen, small utility area and bathroom were done in vinyl and a hallway, living room and dinning area were done in laminate. Total cost was $7765.00. The vinyl is fine, its the laminate that has an issue.Business Response

Back in April I ordered new hardwood floors from this company with a refinish job on my existing hardwood to match. The hardwood that was installed has split and broken in several places. The refinish job was only half done with only one coat of sealer. They attempted to repair the broken floor and I was told the product was faulty. My existing floor can not be refinished again. There are drips of stain in several spots. Some areas on the stair nose still has original stain on it. They ripped up a portion of my floor that was broken before they realized that the product was gonna be discontinued. Pieces weee just nailed down in place temporarily until a resolution could be made. I have been dealing with this since May 2, 2022. Its now September and my floor is awful. I paid $9000.00 for flooring that I was not promised. I have reached out numerous times to ************************* the District manager who can put and saw the floor and told me that it all would have to come up and be replaced. I picked out a new floor 2 weeks ago. Now I am being told that the vendor for the bad flooring has to come out before I can get a decent flooring by the sales rep. I have tried calling ******************* with no response. The sales rep told me that it has been turned over to the main office. The regional Manager ****************** is not returning my calls either. His number is ************. Any assistance would be greatly appreciate. I have a complete file of photos and texts that I can provide you if necessary. I am extremely frustrated with the whole situation.Business Response

This is my second complaint since I had my flooring installed in June of 2022.One of the rooms we had Luxury Vinyl Flooring installed had a scratch on one of the planks. The person who lives in that room was not home for two months after the installation. I reported the issue to 50 floor and they told me it would not be covered because we should have caught it during inspection (was underneath furniture that they moved into place) or within the first few weeks of installation (not a timeline anyone had mentioned previously). When we were sold the flooring we were told they would take care of this sort of thing with 'no problem' and 'no questions' for the the lifetime of the tile. Now they are telling us we need to pay them to fix it and any attempts to have anyone else (including myself) repair/fill-in the crack would void the warranty. The ******* office does nothing but lie about their support of the products and you have to scream at them or go places like this just to get anyone to listed or do anything.Business Response

On August 26 Friday I had a sales person come to my house for an estimate for new carpet. I received an estimate and decided to go with 50 floor. I paid a check to them of $1,300.00. I called them today and they told me I cancelled which I did not do. They have been sending me to extension after extension and no one is calling me back or returning my money as they say i cancelled. I am certain I did not cancel and have looked through all my emails for the last two weeks. They are not returning my $1,300,00.Business Response

They talked me in to buying the best laminate flooring they had against scratches and water. They installed the flooring to my entire downstairs including the guest bathroom. They removed my toilet and replaced it. Since the removal and replacement of my toilet I have noticed a leak from around the bottom of the toilet. Apparently the seal to the toilet is not sealed. It has since cause water to leak from beneath a perfectly new toilet since the placement of my flooring which has now lead to warping to the floor they installed and now my baseboards. I called 50 floors only to be told that i have 3-5 days to call after installation only. "It is in my best interest to reach out to a plumber or my homeowners insurance with some assistance with this matter. " Basically, you're on your own. The warranty they provide is for 3-5 days!!! I had NO issues with my downstairs toilet prior to the team removing and replacing the toilet. If there is no plumber on your team, you should not have flooring guys removing and replacing plumbing equipment. I paid these guys over $10K for this flooring job to be left with damage due to their incompetence with installation of my toilet. The irony in the situation is the team admitted to a small leak prior to leaving after installation, but reassured me they resolved the problem. Do not use this company!! I repeat, Do NOT use this company. I wished I had read the reviews prior. The toilet is leaking around the bottom due to their improper installation and my floor is now damaged.Business Response

It is impossible to notice a slow leak due to improper sealing of the toilet at the base within 5 days.
Apparently this was a slow leak as stated by the plumber that i had to come out and evaluate yesterday. He clearly stated the toilet was not sealed properly with installation. Now i am stuck with the cost of a plumber (a real one, not a floor installer) and the need to find someone to come and replace the damaged floor boards that are starting to pop up at the creases along with the baseboards. Again, i was assured by the installers, that the leak that they saw upon installing my toilet was fixed. That's all i had to go on. They were the experts and I trusted them. Considering I am having to pay more than enough money out of pocket to have a plumber come to properly install the toilet with a seal at the base, it seems would only be right and just, if 50 floors could at least replace the few boards that need replacing. I am not asking for my entire floor to be replaced. Never did. It's literally less than 10 boards likely. They would rather risk their reputation??? As noted, there is a laundry list of complaints on this company.

This is my second request to hopefully resolve my concern with the carpet I had installed. It was installed February 5, 2022. I paid $2125 which was to include carpet, installation and trim. Immediately the problems started to appear. There was pulling in numerous areas of the carpet. I was told this was normal and in a bit it would stop. I have called the company numerous times and basically got the run around. We sent a complaint to you in August 2022 and received a call September 1, 2022 from ***** with 50 Floors. He was to reorder the carpet and contact us with a new installation date. Since then we have called him back to see when they would be out and only get his voicemail. Sorry to say we are done and want to cut ties with the company and would like my money back. I will need to purchase all new carpet and can not continue to use the one that is on the floor now. It is a hazard. Please note, there was problems from the start with the installation, but that information is in the prior complaint.Business Response

We'll accept the response but have 4 non-negotiable conditions.#1 be here by 9am so job can be completed and not rushed.#2 Wednesday or Thursday they come out for installation.#3 ensure communication can be made clearly with installers. Also a good number for a rep for that day in case any issues arise.#4 workers must have proper equipment and supplies to complete the job per the original agreement including transfers and quarter round must match what was purchased by client not what vendor has in stock.

We are happy to schedule an appointment for a day that fits our clients schedule, but due to unforeseen circumstances that is out of our control we would not be able to commit to an exact time of arrival.
During this scheduled appointment 50 Floor would complete a carpet replacement and round installation using 50 Floors stock raw round;however, because we are unable to provide an exact match to her existing baseboards, customer would need to provide the stain of her choice.
Another option we would like to propose is to complete the carpet replacement, provide the round material(s),and reimburse our client $150.00 to offset the cost of hiring a ********* at her choice to complete the stain and carpentry work.Respectfully,

We had new carpet and *** flooring installed in our home on 2020. We have been trying since 2021 to get your company out to go over several issues we have. We had someone come out and look at the carpet and we were told the carpet was laid wrong by the installers. The carpet is gapping at the seams and unraveling. We have constantly called! Emailed! Text! We have been given every excuse in the world for why this isn't resolved. We have emails from your staff stating we live in a different city, which we do not. We have been told we only had a certain amount of time to complain. We have been sent emails pertaining to employees pay. It has been the worse company to deal with. We paid $7857.00 to get the work done and never followed up on by your company. 50 Floor did not and has not been truthful with us. The *** flooring is breaking at the edge lock. Theyvdid not put 7nder floor padding down. How can we get in touch with the corporate office to file another complaint? This issue has not been resolved.Business Response
