I brought a 2003 Jeep Liberty KJ V6 vehicle in to McCullough Napa Auto Care, of ****************** ** for replacement of lifter and spring, approx $400 parts/labor. After discussion decision was made to perform leakdown test which was subsequently stated by McCullough to be a cylinder head replacement requirement. McCullough Napa Auto Care indicated that it could fix the problem satisfactorily. At this point, McCullough Napa Auto Care has committed to the ability to repair my vehicle with confidence, and up until this point they could have refused to do any work without and degree of liability on their part. The work was delayed by several months with various excuses. After the work began, McCullough Napa Auto Care called back and declared that the other cylinder head looked bad and said that they could completely solve my engine problems by replacing both heads, left and right. I approved on the stipulation that the vehicle must run satisfactorily upon completion. Both cylinder heads were replaced and I was then informed by McCullough Napa Auto Care that the engine could not be repaired, but I still owed McCullough Napa Auto Care for their faulty work or they would involve litigation and a collection agency if I did not pay them. I paid them to get my vehicle back and have the receipts for payment in full despite unacceptable service to avoid a legal and collection attack by McCullough Napa Auto Care. McCullough Napa Auto Care refused to complete the original repair that they recommended without further payment from me. McCullough Napa Auto Care has flagrantly abused the trust that they required from me to justify payment for their services, meanwhile the trust that I extended to them has benefited their sales without satisfying the agreement between McCullough Napa Auto Care and myself. The parts that McCullough Napa Auto Care failed to correctly install were covered under warrantee but I have been effectively threatened and extorted for the amount of labor.
