    Zero star rating. I had my vehicle towed to McCullough NAPA Auto Care for diagnostic testing because it would not crank. I was notified approximately a day later that the engine was "gone" and the vehicle would require a new (rebuilt) engine, costing approximately $7,300.00. Prior to my arrival to retrieve my vehicle, I requested a copy of the diagnostic testing to confirm these results but never received. I was only given the diagnostic invoice ($172.37) listing the cause of the vehicle not cranking - "Engine is locked up, needs replacement", which is clearly not the same documentation as computerized diagnostic testing results.I proceeded to get a second opinion from a more trustworthy auto shop which in less than 10 minutes determined that the alternator needed replacing. It was also determined that the engine was operating normal and did not require replacement as stated by McCullough NAPA Auto Care. An auto repair that's been operating since the 1950's surely should be able to differ between a failed engine versus failed alternator, especially if computerized diagnostics were ran. McCullough NAPA Auto Care was grossly dishonest and insulting to me.

    I've been going to McCullough for years and the service and value are top notch. They're honest and they've done quality work on at least five different cars of mine over the years. Don't waste your money on dealerships or boutique auto shops, McCullough will have you covered with the same top-tier quality work at half the price. Also, it's so lovely to have a relationship where they know and remember me. I love being able to say 'my mechanic' said this or 'my mechanic' said that. And last thing I want to say is, this is a small family business, these are the kind of companies we should support!
