Scheduled an MRI for 9/13/24. Called registration dept and asked for my copay, I was told twic that my copay would be $95 and no additional bills. This shoudl be recorded on their customer service phone calls and computer. As when, I called the day before to confirm, the lady, said mam this information was already shared with you. I recently got a bill in the mail, saying I owe $452.98. I called on 10/10/24 and spoke to *******, who said she would have her supervisor *** call and speak to me the same day. No phone call received. Called 10/24/24 and spoke to *****. She was unable to assist, so asked for address to file greiviance. She gave me her address, and said that she will hand it over to whoever needs to get it. When I registered for the appointment, no finanical disclosures were presented. The lady, sat in a office with glass windows and said, sign on an electronic pad that was facing towards me. Wahtever she said I notated on the key pad and signed. This concern is reflected by another patient in their ****** reviews. This is unacceptable, as the discrepany is hug between what was quoted and the bill. Please adjust the bill, correct procedures to avoid further greiviances to clients.Business Response

My name is **** **** ****** and I mailed in an application for financial assistance back in January of this year. The tracking number for my mailed in application is ********************** and yet you all have not reached out to me at all with any updates and instead have sent me to collections. Every single time I have to file for financial assistance with your office this is an issue. You all always lose my paperwork and I have to go through the trouble and expense of sending it in again. This is absolutely ridiculous and I demand an explanation. Every time I call the financial advisor’s office for an update on my application I get voicemail and no one ever calls me back. My guarantor number is **********.Initial Complaint

Beginning 12/2023, provider has started billing me retroactively for services provided in 2021 in the amount $1,495. This was a surprise, since bills for these services were submitted to and covered by insurance at the time (in-network). We are now 3 years past the 3/10/21 service date for which they are billing me. Nevertheless, I spent many days calling ****** **** ***** and provider to get to the bottom of this. I have voluminous notes/documentation on the many phone calls with provider billing department, as well as with my insurance provider, between Dec 2023 up until this week. After many calls, the amount they claim i owe has been reduced to $246.71. They say this is based on an EOB they received from ****** showing that a check was issued to me from insurance in the amount of $524.82 in September 2021. ****** researched and confirmed that they have no record of such an EOB or existence of this check and they asked provider to produce a check number or a copy of the EOB (or any other proof). On 3/19, during a joint call between ******, myself and provider where we asked for this proof, the billing rep at St. Joseph (***) told me that they have no copies of either, told me that II was annoying her and she refused to put a supervisor on the phone. She said there is nothing else that St Joseph can or will do and that I just owe the money. ****** **** ***** is also unable to understand why I am receiving any bills. I now feel harassed by St Joseph Chandler billing department and would like to have them cease and desist from sending me any more bills. I owe them nothing and request assistance. I would like them to send me a final statement showing a balance of zero so this does not happen again.Initial Complaint

On May 27, 2023, I received a notice from a medical collection’s agency that ****** ******* had turned over an outstanding debt to them for collection. This debt was from a procedure that they claim was performed in February 2022.
1. I have never received any billing statement from them during the entire fifteen months.
2. There is no documentation on my patient portal that this procedure was ever performed.
3. I have no recollection of this procedure being performed.
This is not a valid collection’s referral, inasmuch as I never received any statement or invoice from them during the 15 months where they claim that the procedure was performed.
At the very least, they should withdraw their referral to the collection’s agency and bill me directly. However, as I have no recollection of this procedure, and as there is no documentation on my patient portal regarding it, if my memory is faulty, then they need to provide me with some documentation that the procedure was performed.Business Response

I used to be a patient of Dr ****** ***** at St Joseph/Candler in ********* *******. I switched to a different doctor in December because I was dissatisfied with their services. I had an upcoming appointment in February that I had forgotten about until a few days before. Once I remembered, I attempted to call and cancel my appointment. I tried repeatedly over the course of several days but no one answered. These days were all business days and not at lunch time. Finally, I left a message on their voicemail stating I wanted to cancel. I left my full name, date of birth, and phone number on the message. I received no call back from them, and never heard from them again for over a month and a half, so I thought I was good to go. Then over the weekend I get a bill in the mail for $35, my usual copay for an appointment. I called the billing department, but they tried to claim that it was a “cancellation fee”. The only cancellation fee they have is for a no-show for an appointment. Calling ahead and canceling, which is what I did, does not carry a fee. It’s listed on every paper I ever received from them with my upcoming appointments. The cancellation fee is a lie, and this is not the first time I have had problems with the billing department in one of their facilities. I have always been a cooperative patient and have always paid my bills for appointments. This is uncalled for.
