Today, I was supposed to have 2 bedroom sets, living room, den, dining room, patio set moved to a different house. Along with some boxes. I have 25 boxes ready to go. When the 2 movers arrived they stated everything has to be ready to go and boxed.I then asked if they meant the big furniture to which they stated no.I explained they could start moving the boxes out to the truck and that way they would have room to get to the beds. They stated it was too much and let them call their manager ******** I was in my house on the phone talking to ***** the 2 men left and were gone without my knowledge. My 2 housekeepers are also here and witnessed the 2 men leaving before I finished speaking to ***** the manager.I then called ***** back and she said my money was non refundable, but why didnt the 2 men take the 25 boxes and the patio furniture sitting outside to my other house, that was not too much or needing to be boxed up. I was told they did not take the patio furniture and 25 boxes because they thought I wanted everything taken together. This company did no work and completely took my money today, which I want my money back. ********* ******* MAYWEATHERBusiness Response

Dear BBB and ***************************** you for bringing this matter to our attention, and we appreciate the opportunity to respond to your concerns.
Upon performing our initial walkthrough, it was noted that a significant amount of packing was yet to be completed. To ensure enough space and that your belongings are arranged in the truck safely and professionally,it is important to be able to access all that needs to be moved.
We understand how stressful and overwhelming moving can be so on the day of the move, we offered to provide you with packing assistance or to reschedule your move service to a later date, to allow you extra time to pack the remaining household. As explained, the latter option would have allowed you to still apply your service deposit towards the cost of the move. Since you declined all service options provided, as is stated in the pre-move letter you received upon booking your service, failure to provide 72 hours advance notice for cancellation will result in the forfeiture of the service deposit.
We appreciate your understanding in this matter.

I booked "Two Men and a Truck" for June, 26 2024. I was asked to pay a deposit of $525, which was rendered via phone. On the day, the movers arrived and smelled heavily of marijuana. They were having a hard time comprehending basics of what needed to be moved, despite having paperwork that specified. I did not sign paperwork to proceed with move and excused myself to speak with my partner. He confirmed it, too. I confronted movers, specified I am not comfortable with them handling our HHGs while they're under the influence. One of the movers became defensive, denied that they were under the influence, and began to close up their truck. They left our residence and I promptly called their boss. I was assured by ****, that he would have a strict conversation with them and call me back with a solution. I made several phone calls to the company. I spoke with **** and was assured he would speak with his regional management to come to a resolution and call me back on 6/26. I received a final call back from **** this morning (6/27/2024), after making another phone call to track down the solution. I was informed that I will not be getting my deposit back in full, after my request for such. I was informed that the offer their company had was send movers back out to fulfill services, or ***** a refund for 30% of my deposit. My complaint of the movers being inebriated was looked over as **** informed me, "the movers were not high, they were smoking Black and Milds, and were urine tested as soon as they returned". I was not notified of such a test until this morning. I doubt such a test was administered and results gained so quickly. He also informed me that they could have still done the job. I reminded him of their "Certified Drug-free Workplace" and voiced my concern of him promoting work under such a condition. I informed **** that I will not accept services from them, nor partial refund as I do not condone rendering payment for no work done, much less under the influence.Initial Complaint

December 27, 2023 hired this company to pack-up and move my belongings from *********** ** to *********** **. The pack up was poorly done with many items being broken, badly damaged, and/or completely missing. I filed the required damage claim but to date this company has given me the runaround, ignoring all but 1-item on my claim, and this 1-item was offered $114, which wouldnt even pay the labor on the repair of this item. Nothing else from my damage claim form has been addressed.Initial Complaint

Throughout the previous 90 days the business has attempted to work with the consumers complaints with the goal of expeditious resolution. The images received of damages claimed were received by the business on 9/12 and resolution was communicated to the consumer less than 24 hours later. Resolution was in excess of the contract in an effort of customer service as the experience of the consumer is of the upmost importance. Our records do show many communications with the consumer and regret that despite having made multiple attempts to exceed the expectations of the consumer that they are not satisfied.Initial Complaint

My recent move with Two Men and a Truck of ***********, ** was a complete disaster. Our lives have been a complete nightmare since our move, and I'm in total disbelief. Here are the few that I would like to share with you:1. Despite coordinating a site visit with the estimating team, the operational staff were unable to complete the scope of work as described in the estimate that we executed. We relocated both my contents, and my mother's contents (whose home was just a few houses down the street) and both homes were left with approximately 50% of their contents. Our homes are now left incomplete and spread between multiple properties.2. Of the contents that were relocated by the staff, those contents experienced significant damages due to mishandling, including:- Washer platform dented - Dryer foot smashed (dryer was not placed on dolly and was dropped from the house to the driveway)- Scratches on (3) dressers - Hinges on antique dresser bent - Shelves of end table broken - ************** cable severed (the recliner was dragged across the driveway and the cable got caught below and severed between the metal base and gravel)- Scratches on (2) refrigerators Once those contents were offloaded and placed in the new homes, additional property damages were caused, including:- Drywall damage; holes, scruffs, etc.- Corner bead damage - Torn sheet vinyl flooring - Damaged door transition strips 3. The vehicles that were utilized for transport were infested with ants. Any boxes that were accompanied by our furniture are now overrun with ants, and in an effort to control the infestation, all of our contents had to be moved out of the properties to prevent their further spread.4. They have fraudulently attempted to make an unauthorized charge on my card.5. They violated my privacy by inviting unaffiliated staff with Two Men and A Truck to my property without consent.Business Response

The business was disappointed to hear that it did not meet the expectations of the consumer and is currently in communication with them.An onsite estimator provided an initial estimate for services based on the items that were instructed to be moved that recommended 3 trucks billed at an hourly rate. At the request of the consumer, the estimator prepared a second estimate for only 2 trucks, by eliminating numerous items from the scope of service. The non-binging estimate for 2 trucks was accepted and booked by the consumer verbally and in writing via e-signature with the understanding that not all items from the homes would be moved. Once scheduled and prior to the move day the business emailed confirmation of the 2-truck order for service, the consumer signed consenting. One week prior to the service date the consumer received a phone call from the business confirming the full scope of the move service, and their full and complete signature was offered on the Bill of Lading contract agreeing to terms and conditions and authorizing the shipment in accordance with the resources and rates identified.
On the service date, 2 fleet vehicles arrived as ordered. Please note that all company fleet vehicles are inspected daily and cleaned pursuant to the businesss COVID-19 policies. No concern about the number of vehicles or the condition of those vehicles were presented or argued at that time. As the load progressed, when concern about fitting the entire contents of the homes was presented to the crew, the manager went to the consumers home to oversee and discuss the matter. A manager in the business with intent to communicate and address concerns is not unaffiliated staff violating the privacy of the consumer. In an effort to accommodate the full scope of service, the business offered to A) send a third truck and adjust the billing rate accordingly, or B) schedule a single truck to come in the following days based on availability, offering to waive fees and complete the service at the rate of a single truck. Though discounted, this offer was in no way under the tableas alleged. The business apologizes if there was any confusion regarding the options.
The consumers agreement to the terms and conditions of the contract and signature of credit card authorization, provided approval to process the payment for services rendered. At no time did the business fraudulently attempt to make unauthorized charges. In accordance with the contractual obligation, the business does require payment for the services rendered to date. Upon receipt of the payment in full, the business is happy to proceed with claims settlement in accordance with contractual obligation and customer service goals. As previously mentioned, the business is in communication with the consumer directly to escalate and address all concerns.

I am rejecting this response because:A request was made to change the kitchen from 80 boxes to 15 boxes and remove the outdoor items. The business's estimator decided the number of trucks that were necessary for the corresponding scope of work on the estimate. The resources that were assigned resulted in an incomplete scope of work.
The estimate does not concisely identify whether or not the estimate is binding, and the scope of work was not honored. I was deceived by the business's practice. Due to this, the business inhibited my ability to shop around for reasonable and comparative pricing and left our family in broken homes.
As the language reads on the Pre-Move confirmation regarding, I WAS anticipating some variation in charges based on the hours required for the move and I WAS prepared to provide compensation for those variations. I WAS NOT anticipating that the quoted hours and number of vehicles WOULD NOT accommodate the scope of work as referenced on the Estimate.
The assistant operations manager **** did perform a site visit in a marked business vehicle. There was another individual who has not been identified on my property.
My card was charged $1,900.00, and unauthorized amount.
The aforementioned proposals are not consistent with the business's communication, the response is wildly misinformed, and at this time, not acceptable.
Sincerely,

The experience of the consumer continues to be extremely important to the business. As previously stated, the business did present multiple estimates to the consumer with a goal of moving as much inventory as possible based on the number of trucks ordered. To date the balance for services rendered is unpaid, processing of the credit card provided by the consumer is not to be misconstrued as unauthorized use. All concerns have been escalated to upper Management and they are working directly with the consumer for amicable resolution.Customer Answer

I am rejecting this response because:The business did not present an estimate that represented the scope of work that was discussed. The estimate that contained an itemized the scope of work (which was agreed upon) was not executed by the business. Payment has not been issued because the services (as agreed upon) continue to remain incomplete. I did not provide this business with authorization to process the credit card for both $1,900.00 and $2,685.00. This response does not address any other / previously identified complaint topics. A response/resolution from upper management has not been received.
Sincerely,

On January 30, 2023 I used Two Men and a Truck to assist with moving our big pieces of furniture. The company sent over three men to handle the job. I witnessed one of the workers attempt to drag my 3 piece ******* sectional solo down the stairs dragging it and banging walls. I heard him tell his ****** "I tore it" as he yanked it trying to make a landing turn on a set of stairs. I noticed after they left I saw the piece the man was moving solo he ripped the back cushion from the backing of the sofa. I paid $1,400.00 for the move, then I paid an additional $214.50 prior to the move which was to cover any mishaps and says the "REPLACEMENT VALUE". The company claims it is only worth $125.00 to repair when it will cost me more than that to rent a truck to get my piece of furniture to a repair store then pay for the services.Business Response

I hired this company on 9/2 a single person moving into a 2 bedroom Condo. The time it took them was very unreasonable, One of the movers was very young and looked like he was in training, when they went out into the truck to get more stuff they really took there time, the last company I used we had 2 stops and took half the time. Also on the drive to my new place they took 2 1/2 hours, they said they had to get gas and there was traffic. It took me 1 hour and fifteen minutes and I stopped and got lunch and too was in traffic. To me they tried to take the maximum time they can take to do the job, and I was charged almost **** which is ridiculous. I also had a box of water which was worth about $25 that they kept, I spoke to the office and they never got back to me. I should not have to pay extra money for guys in training, and the time they spent in the truck was just time wasting. I would just like a fair price for moving into a 2 bedroom condo. Just to note the one guy that was not in training did take good care of my TVS. I am a disabled vet so when asking the new guy to move things into certain places was such a hassle, he was huffing and puffing like I was annoying him.Business Response
