Went to buy my grand daughter a car for 16th birthday.. we purchased a **** **** escape SE with some cosmetic damage on Sat Dec 14th. Their description said great deal Price $3,000 under value. They went on to say that it was well taken care of etc... (doesn't seem the case) and was a local trade .. . went to pick up the vehicle and the intake box bottom was missing -they took it for another car?? They said it would be in the next day guaranteed at 9am .. it was not. Then they said it would be in the next day again not .. Went all the way in to Davenport from out of town to pick it up and it still wasn't ready. Finally went to pick it up on Thursday cuz they said it was ready for me.. Got there and Picked it up.. went to use the windshield wipers to clean the windshield and there's no windshield wiper on drivers side .. Wonder if they use this for another car as well?? .. went to ********** to get a new windshield Wiper $30 bucks.. noticed my license plates weren't on! Called them said my license plates seem to be missing .. Went to go start the car to take it back to get the license plates and it wouldn't start!!! Not even turnover. Not even a click. No lights anything ! Called them about this.. ********** was nice enough to jump the vehicle but while popping, Hood noticed that the windshield wiper fluid lid is also missing. They said it's been sitting a while Needs to charge up while running.. Drove about an hour total before I parked it Vehicle still not starting back up! Seems kind of like there's an electoral issue as the headlights flicker every time my windows get rolled up or down and every time the headlights change for oncoming traffic, the radio glitches or turns off.. Oh also check the oil life and it's at 7%. They can't even change oil! So aside from their horrible communication, they also like to sell people vehicles that don't want to start the same day. They go to pick it up and doesn't have windshield wipers or fresh oilBusiness Response

Mrs. ***** purchased the 2018 **** Escape with ****** miles from Patriot Lincoln 12/16/24 and while being a 1 Owner vehicle it did have some issues. These cosmetic issues were notated in the Vehicle description that Mrs. ***** failed to mention, as she only mentioned a very small portion of said description, she was also disclosed regarding the airbox as it was missing. (The airbox was removed from the vehicle to help another customer days prior to Mrs. ***** ever coming in on the vehicle.) When they were made aware at the very early stages of the purchase, they were fine with the box being ordered and replaced at no extra cost to be expected. Now I will say we fell short on the delivery time for the box to arrive as we ordered it 3rd party and we do not stock this part at the store, we do not build these parts at the store, and we cannot force expedited services we order from if the items don't arrive from the 3rd party shippers on time. Communication was laid out during this process and Mrs. ***** had not taken the vehicle into her possession at this time. She had came into the dealership as well prior to picking up.
Being an AS-IS wholesale to the public vehicle and the thousands in savings in comparison to others like it on the market, Mrs. ***** made the decision to purchase our **** Escape over other vehicles. In the vehicle description it noted clearly that we would fix ANY additional items per the customer's request, and we could add the costs of said items into the pricing of the vehicle. Being AS-IS we do not change the oil, battery, broken clips or pieces etc. as an auction would not change the oil or do these things on their wholesale vehicles neither. This allows us to pass on savings to potential customers. The airbox assembly arrived 12/19 just three days after their purchase. When they picked the vehicle up, they took it down the road when they noticed the wiper blade was missing or in need of replacing. When they stopped to get the replacement, the vehicle failed to start to which they received a jump from the store clerk. The next day we received the BBB complaint on the wholesale vehicle.
Mrs. ***** knowingly purchased an AS-IS vehicle, signed confirming so, knew the condition of the vehicle upon their inspection (not ours) and still made a decision to purchase this for the listed price. No Dealer promises were made outside of replacing the missing airbox, which the dealer did follow through with their obligation to do so. If dealers were to fix and replace everything that happened on a used car after a customer has purchased it AS-IS, every dealer group in the Country would go out of business. We offer Brand New vehicles for sale that have none of the issues listed above.
Furthermore, I have attached corresponding documents from her purchase. Please see the attached, the vehicle description, the buyer's guide, purchase agreement, we-owe disclosure, and the JD Power vehicle valuation showing the wholesale trade value at $11,025 and the retail value at $13, 775. Mrs. ***** was not forced to purchase this vehicle.Customer Answer

Bought a used 2020 ***** Equinox from Patriot Lincoln of Davenport. Paid $22,231.80 in check that day. Dealership said that I would have the title in the mail in a few weeks. A month later I ask about the title. Dealership says that there are odometer issues with the title and that the State of Illinois is backlogged with computer delays. Dealership says they are helping me. A few months later I go to the ***************. *** say that Illinois is backlogged, and the Title has odometer issues. Phoned several times again and Dealership says title should be there by the end of August. Near the end of August, I go to the official Illinois VIN search and find that a ************ in ****** has a lien on the Title. Dealership told me originally that they had not sold me a car with a lien. Early September I file a complaint online with the Iowa State Attorney General that I believe the dealership appears to have sold me a car that had a lien on it, and they did not hold the title. Told them I was asking for my Money back. The contract was not fulfilled on the Dealerships part and I believe that it is illegal for a dealership to sell a car when it does not have the title. I have an appointment with the Iowa County *************** on 9/10/24.Business Response

From patriot Lincoln in Davenport Iowa we purchased a 2016 ***** Silverado on July 8 2024 and we traded in a 2007 ***** Silverado, we switched plates and because my birthday is in August the plates were only good for 30 days. They have expired, and I am not able to get the title from Patriot Lincoln for this vehicle. You are not able to drive in **** without a registration. We also purchased a second vehicle on July 8 as well and this was a *********** Atlas. The temporary tag expired on August 22nd. Patriot Lincoln can not provide us with title for this vehicle as well. We now have 2 vehicles we are not able to drive! Patriot will tell us they are close to getting the title just give them a few more days, they have done this at least 8 times and yet no title for either vehicle. They wanted us to rescind the purchase agreements and make new ones however we wanted to put in the new contract if they were not able to get the titles in an additional 30 days they would give us a full refund. They would not do this so this leaves us to believe they are not close. On August 22 Patriot tells us they were going to refund us the money by overnighting a cashiers check from corporate in ******** on Monday the 26th of August. However this was not done, they are not able to find the tracking number from the post office which you would get if it was sent as they said. I told them to call the post office to get the tracking number but yet they have not done this! We have been lied to over and over again. Patriot Lincoln is a very dishonest car dealership! We sit with two vehicles we can not drive and are out thousands of dollars as we paid for both of them in full. Help!Business Response

Patriot Lincoln Davenport, **** failed to pay off a vehicle we traded in to obtain a new vehicle from the dealership. We were under the impression and trust of the dealership to follow through, yet they failed. We have been negatively hit on our credit report causing a significant drop (-73 points). They gave a letter to us explaining their downfall but to the lean holder of the car traded in, it means nothing. The only way to remediate the situation is monetarily. They gave us $2k for my time, because I had to call the dealership and lender countless times, made a personal visit to the dealership, searched out the owner, sent emails, countless hours for their failure.Business Response

I have looked into Mrs. *********** complaint. Customers are informed the payoff amount will be sent as agreed. They are also informed if their payment would be coming due, they are encouraged to pay that payment to keep it from going 30 days past due, as any overage amount paid would be credited by the Lien Holder back to the consumer. Customers may dispute any late payment on their bureaus and by providing the letter to the bureaus as proof will resolve their late payment reporting issue. As for a decrease of 73 points for a single missed payment, as the BBB knows and consumer credit, a score drop of that magnitude solely from a missed payment is not likely.
If the dealer had paid Mrs. ********* $2,000 for the time and inconvenience regarding this complaint, she would have been informed to remove her complaint and any negative feedback associated with her complaint.

Sold a spare vehicle to dealership, stated in person and purchase agreement that a check for full value of car would be overnighted. 3 days later, dealership won't return my call, and no check in the mail. Will be going in person to demand payment. Would not recommend doing business here.Business Response

My vehicle was stolen and I had it towed to patriot lincoln for repairs. I was told 2-3 weeks for them to get the car completed. I am now 5 weeks in and no vehicle. I have been to the dealership 5 times to pick my car up and told by the gm of the dealership that he guaranteed the car was done. It is not. I had to argue with the service manager about whether a brake rotor was grooved. Service manager was condescending and rude. Lost parts for my car. Damaged interior pieces. Door jambs look like ***** painted it.Never offered a loaner vehicle until I got upset. I have found items that were billed to my insurance company on the quote that were not changed on the car.I brought my vehicle to the dealership with expectation that the vehicle would be done at a high level. After all its a Lincoln dealership. However my experience here has been a huge let down. This is the 2nd bad experience Ive had with this dealer and with this service manager especially. My insurance paid them over 18k to fix my vehicle. I have informed my adjuster and insurance company and filed a complaint with them as well.Business Response

Note: on Nov 19th 2023 the customer struck a deer. Totaling this vehicle.
The information I gathered talking to my staff and completing a file review ********* signed a Resolution statement. It was a $20,000 theft recovery 17 Lincoln continental silver. Patriot refunded him $250.00 in the agreement. Not including brakes, electrical work interior or work. The body shop had over 80 hours of repairs invested on the vehicle basically an entire paint job. ***** completed our main painter. Repairs were completed in a timely manner and many things were added to the job post repair.

Purchased 2022 **** Explorer on April 24th *********************** was the salesperson, ****? General Manager and ***** the Finance Manager. There are so many issues with this purchase...It did not have the issues in the picture that was posted on line crack in the windshield which they did fix, 1/2 chip in the front part of the hood they gave me the run around saying they couldn't find a body shop, ***** the finance manager quit got fired didn't get the paper work turned in so the payoff on my car was late and probably would have been later had we not kept calling them because the bank wanted their money. Then ****** took over as finance manager said she took it to them 3 different times and did not. The bank finally called us and told us after it was already late they brought the check over. I still do not have plates and the paper plates expired on the 6th. They said they would pay the ticket if I got one but it would still be on MY record. Then to top it off the check engine light came on today..I've called left messages and reviews and there's no response except for the plates..it's because the finance people FAILED to do their job. I want a new **** Explorer with new plate tags..I've had enough.. They were sent the pictures of the one on line vs. what I got.*******************Business Response

I am rejecting this response because:I still DO NOT HAVE MY PLATES.
And there's still a chip in my hood which is not shown on the pictures they posted on line. This is all due to their negligence because it wasn't filed and left sitting on someones desk.( actually 2 people).
The pictures they had on line clearly are not what i have. I'd be satisfied if they would just fix it but after countless phone calls and text and emails they will not respond.
In all the vehicles I've ever purchased I have never had issues like this. Im going on vacation and my plates are expired.
This needs fixed ASAP. If this doesn't get fixed I can either hire an attorney of turn in it to the Federal Trade Commission.
Sincerely,
