  I did a dispersement on March 10, 2023 before the window closed March 13, 2023 as stated in the Letter from Principal and The person who helped said I was done with the dispersement process then hang up phone. I found out later my dispersement never went through. So I’m very disappointed in this Company so highly spoken of.

  I was In a serious car accident where I can't walk at the present and I Iost my muscle and alot of tissue I have short term disability through principal and when I filled out my form I enter my direct deposit information but yet they sent it out as a check they claimed on 4/19/23 and I have still not received anything then today I was contacted and told they were sending another payment out and yet I check online and it shows nothing I will never in my life get another disability claim on anything else for that matter when them and I will let everyone else know it's a scam and very poor customer service all they do is lie to you and you don't receive anything. ZERO STARS SHUT THEM DOWN!!! I can't feed my children or pay any of my bills it's sad I am about to be homeless due to them

  I wish I could give this company negative stars. This is the absolute worst company I've ever dealt with in my entire life. Absolutely no one is willing to help you and if you ever have a problem no one will solve it. I had identity theft and stopped the theft myself and then took almost 6 months and still hadn't received my check that they almost gave to somebody else. If you care about your money at all you will not invest with these people.

  Principal’s customer service is atrocious and they hold their participants retirement funds hostage. I’ve been trying to close out my 401k and ESOP account for the last year and a half since I’m no longer with my previous employer, and the customer service representatives keep giving me the run around. The representatives claim to not know when the election window is open for my to either rollover my retirement funds or do a cash distribution. I find this very hard to believe since principal is the vendor of the plan and should be able to inform participants of election windows. All I want to do is close out my retirement plans from my previous employer and principal is refusing to do so.

  Principal is an absolutely horrible company with incompetent customer service people. I was supposed to receive an electronic direct deposit for a pension on March 31 and today is April 5 and I have still not received it. My pension started in February and I have to call every month inquiring about my payment.

  Principal finance group is a scam I invested in a 401k with principal now I can not withdraw my funds.I ask that people everywhere do not do any business with principal finance group.Their 401K plan is scamming people I never got my money back from this company.

  When I started working at my brew job, I rolled over my Roth contributions and I clearly stated that I wanted the same type of contribution for the new account. They screwed me over and did a pre-tax 401k contribution the whole time I was working that job. I came to find out when I tried to roll over me money to another plan. Now I’m screwed with a chunk of my money not being Roth LIKE I HAD REQUESTED. No way to notice this on my paychecks nor on their online website. SO ANGRY!

  I was just hung up on by Lee Ann, a supervisor to whom my situation was escalated. I have been trying to rollover my account from principal for nearly a year now and have been meant with issues at every turn. My original 401k was in my name but when it was automatically rolled over an error was made and the new IRA was in my mother's name. I was understanding about the mistake, I made phones calls and filled out forms to rectify the situation. In this last phone call Lee Ann tried to blame the mistake on me and is now telling me that I must pay for a notary to fill out a form declaring my identity. I asked for proof that the mistake was my fault (because it definitely was not) and when I expressed my frustration at the situation she hung up on me. This is disgusting that these are the people who work in customer service. I am so happy to be with fidelity now.
