      This is a horrible company. I divorced my husband in May of 2023 and property settlement was in September of 2023. I am still waiting for Principle to set up an account for me. This has been going on for 8-9 months. I have never met a company where you can't speak directly to someone who is handling your case. Every time I call, it's always "The status is pending, or your spouse have to call to check the progress," and he gets the same thing. This company need to be dismantled. Everyone needs to send their retirement money elsewhere. My next stop is the Newspeople. I'm going to report these people to the BBB, because this is outrageous.

      Impossible to get your money from them once invested. I have literally spent about 30 hours over 2 months trying to get them to process a simple indirect rollover.I have done this in 5 minutes with many other investment companies.They also have insinuated I am trying to commit tax fraud multiple times for wanting to do a indirect rollover with 0% withholding.

      Same situation as Ro p put my money in a principal real-estate account its been frozen since 2022 but yet in 2023 they let me start contributing to that account. I needed they money out of my account its frozen but yet continues to go down ever quarter I look at it. Well it's stocks right? So if it's frozen for poor performance there going to make a decision to pay out or a total loss in 2025. I'd bet my almost 5k its a total loss and how was I not informed of it being a frozen account when u set up a portion of my money to go into that account. Seems like there holding my money hostage. I'll wait another year to find out. Seems like shady business practice to me. Go somewhere else with your money.

      This company refuses to assist me in rolling over my 401k. I have been contacting them for 7 months and they keep giving me the runaround saying that they will send me an email to fill out a form and send it back to them. I have done so everytime. The catch is, its a different email that I am supposed to send my documents to and it also comes back saying that the email is not monitored. This company has no intentions of rolling over my 401k.

      Its literally like pulling teeth to get my own money. By far the worse retirement company ever. Please read the reviews before investing.

      Worse customer service. Quality is terrible, seems to be getting the runaround on trying to get MY money. Dealing with Court mandated debt and need my money. Will affect my life and my family. Ive extended the deadline with the court twice because Principal cant seem to do their job correctly. Ive started this process since the 28th of May. They keep giving me different answers and tell me the next day. Ive waited for their supervisor to reach out. Have not gotten anything. Even though I was being helped when one supervisor ******** ensured me that they will watch over it and update me asap, I called number they provided ************ and again ensured that its her direct line and shell get it handled but seems like they dont want to answer me when *** called next day after I havent heard from ******** as well. Im stuck and really need my money and Principal, instead of helping is burying me more. I will never use them and was not my choice. My ex-employer who I havent worked for over yr and half moved to them at the time. Im at the point where I will have to get legal action involved just so I can get my money from them.

      I was a former member of the principal group and had a terrible experience with them when trying to roll over my 401-K to another finicial institution due to change of work. I had to change my name during this process which was done successfully on my account. It was then time to issue a roller of check bearing my new to the other institution which turned to be unprofessional and un-ethical on my part. I called countless of times for a check to be sent to the other party on my behalf bearing the new name. These reps I spoke to on the phone foolishly sent in wrong checks 3 times still bearing the old name which one them gave me his name as ***********************. I was very angry at that point till I called for a manager to finally resolved a simple issue. ***** to whoever helped that refused to give me a name but did a great job. I will think twice next time before any engagement with Principal Group. Thanks Worried Member!

      I retired from my job after 24 years, April ************************************************************* my 401 and only received a portion. After calling principal I was informed that the remainder of my funds were invested in a separate US property account and that those accounts are frozen due to poor market performance, since then I've only recipes a very small amount of my funds. I've contacted them several times only to be told this account is froze. In the meantime my invested value keeps declining? How can a froze account decrease?? I'm retired and no longer a plan participant, principal is holding my money hostage,ive demanded my funds so that I can do what I choose not principal.

      Statements are extremely vague and do not give a clear breakdown of dividend reinvestment or fees. Impossible to locate that information.
