My fianc got side swiped by a semi truck whos insurance company is Cottingham and Butler. It has been 5 months since that incident. It took about 3 months for follow up on the claim and eventually someone came out and deemed the car as totaled. Since then, the claims adjuster or claims specialist ****** *******, has completely ghosted my fiance and neglects to respond to any form of contact on getting reimbursed for the totaled vehicle. We will be taking this to court if we dont hear from her within the next week.

This is an incident was originally reported to the BBB in South Carolina complaint ID# ******** against ****** Home Centers, LLC. As a result of our complaint, we have been working directly with Customer Relations regarding our claim with Cottingham & Butler Claims Services (CBCS). To date, no one has responded nor has any information been provided following the submission of paperwork to *****************************, Claims Specialist. ***** has advised that they have made several attempts to follow up with ********* directly but still no response. We are asking someone to intervene and help us get a resolution, otherwise, our only recourse is to employ legal counsel. Here is a summary of incident: ***** delivered and installed a new (replacement) refrigerator in my mother's home on February 29, 2024. The improper installation resulted in a significant leak impacting/saturating the floors of three rooms. It was determined by an independent plumbing company on March 1st - who fixed the issue - that it was indeed an installation issue, and that the plumbing lines in the house were fine. A restoration company to mitigate the water loss was employed and that process was completed. It's been determined that additional work is needed, but Lowes and it's partner(s) have not been responsive to our inquiries regarding the steps that will be taken to cover costs paid to date and estimated costs for additional work that is needed. We are not getting responses for Lowes or their 3rd party (believe to be Spirit Logistics Network) despite numerous calls and several emails- all initiated by us, the complainants. The last communication I had with ************************** is that we should file a claim with our home owners insurance. We are willing and ready to provide all documentation once I determine that BBB will be able to assist us with this. This complaint is being filed on behalf of my mother, *******************************, who resides in *************************.
