If you are going to do a car loan here, you better be savvy with navigating an unintuitive online portal. I have owned several vehicles in my life and have never had a late payment, let alone a delinquency reported to the credit bureaus. I had two with this company. The first one took place when I apparently had auto payments set up, but some how only until the end of 2022. This caused me to miss a payment in January 2023 which was paid in the first week of February once I received a call saying it was delinquent. About a year and a half later the truck ended up in a total loss accident. The bank offers a "hold a pay" until the gap insurance pays their portion, or so I thought. Apparently the "hold a pay" is only offered for two months and the gap insurance took four months to settle. They claim to have mailed two notices in November that the account was overdue (no phone calls). I did not see these letters, so it was out of mind out of site waiting to hear back from them. I get a call at the end of January saying that the payment was overdue. This was a shock to me that anything was due since I thought the *** would cover the remaining balance. I spent a little time investigating the *** myself but ultimately ended up paying over $1k on the remaining balance within 30 days of that phone call. But of course, this was reported as delinquent. I am waiting to here back if they will work with me on an amendment or else I am going to be paying even more money on a lawyer due to the fact that this destroyed my credit.Veridian Credit Union

This is not a company you would want to place assets. REASON! You can not speak with the branch you conducted commerce. No matter what number listed you get a computer voice telling you options have changed and after 5 minutes of nonsense you are told the next available person will assist you and not kidding I was caller number 40 with a wait time stated 30 minutes or more. YOU CAN NOT SPEAK WITH THE ESTABLISHEMENT YOU DID COMMERCE Between family members we had over $800,000 in this establishment and will withdraw all when certificates mature. We have two other banks we do commerce and we can speak directly to the branch and not key pushing menu changes and speak with someone in a remote location when you wait 30 minutes for a conversation...STAY AWAY AND GO TO A PLACE CUSTOMER FRIENDELY.....OR! be their puppet.Veridian Credit Union

Dear *****,
Thank you for providing your feedback about a recent interaction your family member had with Veridian. We are sorry for the extended hold time they experienced. We take your concerns seriously and have researched the situation to better understand what occurred.
On 01-17-2024, your family member contacted Veridian by calling the Manager of the Papillion branch directly. She was unable to reach the Manager so called the general phone number for the branch, which was listed on her voicemail. We were able to see that when she was connected to the general Papillion branch number, she was on hold for an extended period of time. We are sorry for the delay that occurred. On 1-17-2024, the request your family member was calling about was resolved when you called into our **********************
It is our practice to have all phone calls routed through our ********************* to ensure the most efficient experience possible. The employees in our branches are focused on helping our members who visit us in person. This does not always allow them time to have in depth phone conversations. The employees in our ********************* are solely dedicated to helping members over the phone. We understand your desire to speak with the employees you are familiar with at your local branch. We welcome the opportunity to see you at a branch to have those conversations. And for a more efficient over the phone interaction, we recommend you call our ********************* at *************. We strive to keep hold times at a minimum and our employees are eager to help you over the phone.
On 01-22-2024, the Papillion Branch Manager called your family member who experienced the long hold time to ensure her concerns were heard. Again, we appreciate you bringing the matter to our attention and we hope we can continue to serve you and your family in person and over the phone in the future.
Sincerely,
Compliance Department

I have never had a good experience with ******. He is rude, does not listen or have any empathy whatsoever. I had a fraud alert in which VCU gave my personal information to someone that should not have access to my account. That is a breach of information and unacceptable. In no way was that number associated with my account so how it was on the credit card as the number to contact when my actual information was on my profile. So there is no way that number should have been associated with the account in any manner. IF it was a domestic situation it could have been not only dangerous but deadly. This situation was unacceptable. I was making an online purchase that I typically purchase from at least 3-5 times a month. I received a fraud alert on my credit card with VCU. I received an email with a notice that another number was also advised of the fraud alert. The number when opening the account was my number, how this number got on to my credit card as being associated should have never happened. Never once was that number connected to this account as it was only open for a year due to a divorce situation. I never consented to having that number associated to my account ever, and that is a breach of personal information when it was sent the fraud alert over the actual phone number associated with the account. Absolutely unacceptable.Veridian Credit Union

Dear *****,Thank you for taking the time to submit your feedback about the recent experience you had with Veridian. We are sorry you did not have a positive experience with the employee you chatted with, and that the fraud alert was sent to a phone number that was not associated with your **** credit card.We have researched this situation and have identified the system error that caused this to happen. We are engaging our internal stakeholders and our core system provider to troubleshoot the issue to help prevent this from happening to other members. We can confirm that your phone number was appropriately updated on 5-17-2024 in the system that sends fraud alerts. We take your personal and account information seriously. On 5-23-2024, a Team Leader in the ********************* reached out to you to ensure your concerns were heard. We are sending you a more detailed formal response to your concerns in the mail. Stay Away.I've had more issues with Veridian Credit Union than I care to address here, but for starters, my father used them to finance his new truck. He passed away, so we took possession of the loan, and they were absolutely awful to work with. I thought things would improve once we got all the details worked out, but sadly, I was wrong. I somehow signed up for insurance that I don't remember authorizing, and it isn't detailed out on my paper statements, so much to surprise, i've paid over $1500 in insurance that I don't want. Just stay away, and go with a more reputable bank or credit union that actually cares.Veridian Credit Union

Dear *****,Thank you for taking the time to provide your feedback. We are sorry to hear of your disappointment surrounding the optional insurance that is on your auto loan. We take your concerns seriously and we have completed a thorough review of the situation. We have reviewed the signed loan documents and there is a Payment Protection contract signed by you on 05-04-2022. We also reviewed statements and the insurance is noted on the periodic statement. Majority of banks, CU's, credit card companies will ship...overnight...a replacement card. Not this company. Charged us 50 bucks twice for 2 replacement cards shipped overnight to the SAME address. On vacation, out of State...and *** says...can send overnight but...50 bucks each! No choice but to pay. When we return, it's obvious that *** doesn't need our business and we'll accommodate them..Veridian Credit Union

Hello *****,Thank you for taking the time to provide your feedback. We are sorry to hear of your disappointment in the fee to overnight a replacement credit and debit card to you. According to our records, you were charged $50 to mail the credit and debit card, not $50 each. The cards were overnighted by ***** The amount Veridian pays **** to overnight the cards out of state exceeds the $50 fee we pass on to the member. The fee to expedite a replacement card is listed on our Fee Schedule which can be found online at *********************************************************. YOUR MONEY IS NOT SAFE HERE!! My account was garnished for a hospital bill of $644.00 on October the 14th. I called the attorney and they told me they received it and I owed nothing else. However, Veridian has been still withholding all of my funds every time I got paid for a month straight. I called them several times and told them that the attorney said it was done I owed nothing else. The lady from the legal department said Well theyre not your funds until the court says youre done and they dont need anymore money because they have fees so I called the courthouse and they were incredibly nice and told me we typically just go by what the attorney sends in. I once again called the attorney to ask if they had sent in the letter because my bank was withholding my funds and he said I did on November 13th and your bank shouldnt be withholding your money because its a one time garnishment. We would have to go through the **************** to garnish your account again. Someone explained to me how Veridian took another $591.00 from me plus the $644.00 they did for the garnishment and left my account negative, charged me for going negative so they took all of my savings and left me with nothing. This is shady business and Im paying everything off and closing my account after ***** years. They were great until they started expanding on almost every corner like ********** Im going back to a small lowkey credit union where they actually value their people and want to help them. Veridian is an absolute joke now and theyll argue about how theyre right and you dont know what youre talking about.Veridian Credit Union

Dear ********,Thank you for taking the time to provide your feedback, and we are sorry to hear of your disappointment related to a garnishment. We take your concerns seriously and worked with our Legal team to understand the situation. On 11-27-2023, we mailed you a letter with more detailed information than we can share in this online public forum, due to the confidentiality of your information. We recognize how important it is to have access to your funds. Please note, the following process information is specific to your state and garnishment received, as each state and situation may have different requirements. Upon receipt of the garnishment, Veridian places a hold on the funds available to fulfill the garnishment and notifies the court of the amount. Veridian is unable to remit the held funds until we receive an Order to Deliver. The accounts are still available for use. The hold is on the balance of funds available for garnishment at the time the garnishment was received. Veridian received an Order to Deliver on 11-17-2023, and the held funds were sent the same day. We cannot speak to the information provided to you by the attorney or the courts, but can confirm funds were not sent prior to 11-17-2023, and all holds on your account were released as soon as the funds were sent.We have reviewed your account history and can confirm only the garnishment amount was withdrawn and no overdraft or non-sufficient funds fees were charged to you during the period of time the garnishment was in effect. If you have additional questions or concerns once you have received our detailed response in the mail, please feel free to submit them in writing to the address listed below.Veridian Credit Union *************************** PO Box **** ********, ** ***** ******************************* Veridian Credit UnionReview fromTroy M

Do not finance a car or bank at any locations, this credit union is nasty and very greedy, life happens and we missed a couple of payments on my car, plus the car had major problems. Had to file bankruptcy to keep them from from repression. They are a terrible credit union. They emerged from Waterloo IA. I have been with Metro Credit Union since, I have had signature loans, work out loans, and car loans. Metro Credit Union cares about there customers, unlike this silly greedy Credit Union. Veridian Credit Union is awful. Troy L Miller Omaha, NE.Veridian Credit Union

1 starAwful financial institution. They partner with ***** brokers that work with unbonded contractors. And they underwrite with ******* and use ****** capital to be their broker. I had a contractor still ********* dollars from me on a loan for a pool install. They still expect me to make payments on what is essentially a fraudulent loan. We've wrote several letters to Veridian and have not gotten a single response.Review fromSean M

Horrible customer service. Loan payment electronically is incredibly hard and not intuitive. Basically they attempt to funnel you to a representative that charges a $15 fee to process your payment. Very bad vibes from call center repsVeridian Credit Union

Dear Sean,
We recently received your feedback about Veridian’s online payment options. We are sorry you felt the process to initiate the payment online was not intuitive and that you were disappointed in the service you received over the phone. We take your concerns seriously and have conducted a thorough review of your situation and phone calls you have had with Veridian.
Veridian offers multiple ways to make a loan payment without being charged a fee. A payment can be initiated through our online or mobile banking systems, through our website or mailed in. You may also initiate a loan payment through your financial institution to send to Veridian. A fee is not charged for any of these options. The only time a fee is charged to make a payment is if you call Veridian and an employee takes your information to process the request over the phone.
Upon review of the calls you had with Veridian, the employee you spoke to did try to help you set up the loan payment through one of the digital options. We understand you were frustrated with the number of steps it took initiate the online payment and we have passed that feedback to our internal stakeholders. These additional steps are in place to ensure the security and integrity of online payments. On 08-11-2023, a Team Leader in the Member Contact Center spoke to you by phone to ensure your concerns were heard. We understand you were still frustrated with the process.
We will be mailing you a more detailed response and will include a copy of the “Auto Loan Payment Options Notice” that was provided to you when your loan was originated. This notice does provide step by step instructions on how to use the online and digital options to make your loan payments.
We value your feedback as we are always trying to improve the online and digital experience for our members. Thank you for taking the time to provide your feedback.
Sincerely,
Compliance Department
