On may 8th 2023 i applied for a house through EPMI i paid $30 for an application fee. I was told in order to qualify for the property i must make 3x the monthly rent, No evictions in past 4years, and No criminal record. I meet all of those qualifications. Today May 12th i was told that my application was denied with no reason as to why. After calling several times to figure out why i was hung up on and my calls and emails went ignored and unanswered. I had to call from a different number to get through, once i was able to get through i was able to speak to someone who told me that they use a 3rd party for screening candidates. I was told that they can't disclose this 3rd party and that they cant give me a reason as to why i was denied. I think that it is a total rip off to charge an application fee if you cant tell the person why they have been denied. **** has never reached out to my current employer to verify income, they have never reached out to my current landlord to verify rental history. And they never pulled my background to check for past/current convictions. I belive they are scamming people out of the application fee. Thank you for reading.

The owner renewed my lease without my permission after following an issue of trying to get my ex boyfriend off of my lease. Theyve been neglectful of repairs, and now theyre trying to tell me that I will be responsible for rent until the year lease is up or if I find someone to replace me. Im not suppose to be on a year lease, only month to month, but like I said, they renewed my lease without my permission. Thats fraud, according to a lawyer.

I am a tenant with EPM Iowa and have been trying to get in contact with them for almost 2 weeks now. I have left a voicemail daily and no one returns my call. This company doesnt clean the apartment buildings, takes forever to come out for maintenance request. They dont do anything that a landlord should do but will hound you if you owe them.
