Our toilet had a leak. It leaked enough where ********* Plumbing had to have a drying company come in and replace bathroom floor and sub floor. It was also recommended that we replace our existing shower for a new one due to its age. I contacted Bath Fitter of Idaho to come out and see if a new shower was needed. Bath Fitter of Idaho came out and built in a new shower. (July/August 2024.) From the first time I took a shower, the shower leaked enough water on the floor where it concerned me about my new floor possibly being ruined by standing water leaking out of the new shower that was installed. A technician who came and took a look at the shower said there was a design flaw in the shower. In the months that followed a new door was ordered. A new door was put on the shower, but it still leaked enough that I called Bath Fitter of Idaho many times to let them know about how much water was leaking on the floor. By the end of 2024 the leaking shower door problem was not resolved. In January of 2025 another door was installed and it seems to be leaking even more water. Today's date is February 10, and my shower is still leaking like crazy. I sent pictures to the manager of Bath Fitters of Idaho and was told they could not do anything else to stop the leaks. I spent $8,712.00 for this shower and we have used it five times. If it doesn't get fixed, I will have another floor and sub-floor problem and probably a mold issue underneath the floor in a few months. I believe the whole shower needs to be redone or I would like my money back.

We are sorry about the glass door letting some water out. We already replaced the shower door with a brand new door, we are actively working with you on a resolution for more door seals and hopefully doesn't require a third door.

I am filing a complaint against Bath Fitter of Idaho on Chinden. I'm asking for repairs to damages to the bathroom ceiling totaling $887.49. Estimate provided by Mutual of Enumclaw. On April 10, 2023, water began pouring from the ceiling fan vent in my downstairs bathroom. My brother was taking a shower in the upstairs bathroom and it was obvious the water was coming from - or exiting from - a pipe in the downstairs ceiling.I had him shut off the shower and immediately called All Star Plumbing and was told someone would be to my home that day.*********************** from All Star Plumbing, a journeyman plumber (20 years) assessed the situation to determine where the water was coming from by cutting a hole in the downstairs ceiling and removing the wet sheet rock. Upon inspection, he determined a problem with the DRAIN in the upstairs shower. He said I needed to call Bath Fitter because it was their drain. On April 17th **** from Bath Fitter came to assess the situation.Upon inspection, he told me THEIR original installer NEGLECTED to silicone the drain and that it was not sealed at all; hence the water pouring from the ceiling fan.He sealed the drain then said, "now turn on the shower and lets looked through the hole downstairs to see if it solved the problem'". Which it had. But the sheet rock was damaged and the hole was necessary to make sure the unsealed drain was the ONLY problem. Installer **** wanted to check through the hole to be certain the problem was solved so he saw the need for the hole.I asked when the ceiling would be repaired and he said they would not because he didn't cut the hole. Bath fitter sited the warranty that they are not responsible for damage from leaks; however, they are responsible for damage from NEGLIGENCE when the installer NEGLECTED to seal the drain, thus causing damage to my downstairs ceiling. They maintained I should have called them, not a plumber. Any reasonable person calls a plumber when water is pouring from a ceiling.

The repairs to the drain was a quick fix from inside the shower. **** made sure to fix the shower drain completely and explained that we should have been called first to resolve the issue correctly.

I am rejecting this response because:  Bath Fitters is missing the point.  The unsealed drain caused water damage and soaked the sheet rock in the ceiling..  The hole in the ceiling needed to be cut to remove the the wet sheet rock, regardless of whether I called them first or not.  I understand you are not responsible for leaks, but you are responsible for negligence and clearly, by ****'s own admission, his co-worker NEGLECTED to seal the drain.

    Sincerely,
