      We hired Sandman Construction to build our cabin in *********** in 2020. Sandman Construction did not complete the construction work as outlined in the contract we signed with him. Several items were left unfinished, and he refused to complete the work unless I paid him the final payment in advance. Our signed contract stated that final payment would be made when the cabin was completed. Sandman construction took over a year longer than the contracted completion date. Even though the home was not fully completed as outlined above, Sandman construction stopped working on our home and sent us a final bill. Before he would finish the cabin he expected us to pay the final bill which included $40,000 additional charges that were in addition to the price we agreed to in the contract. None of the extra charges were approved by the owners, the owners had no previous knowledge of these charges before the final bill, and no receipts were provided as proof to substantiate the charges. Sandman construction did poor workmanship - the home owner had to repair the doors so they would close, all the stairs came loose and had to be removed and reglued, the roof has two leaks, there was hump in the floor where the studs below were cut 3/4" too long, and several other issues. Do your homework *************** Sandman Construction in ***********, **. Go to the Fremont county website and fill out a request to examine/copy public records to get the recent building permits that for Sandman construction (co.fremont.**.**/FormCenter). The home owner's phone numbers are on the building permits. Call the owners and ask about their experience with Sandman Construction. I checked with several others who hired Sandman Construction and they have the same complaints about Sandman Construction that I had. Also check the ******************************************************** website: apps.**************/****. You will find that his license was been revoked in 2021 for 8 months.
