Wickstrom came to our house to perform a "free" inspection. The ********** determined that our Heat Exchanger was going to fail at any minute which would cause carbon monoxide to leak into our home. The ********** showed me several pictures of our Heat Exchanger. I had no idea what I was looking at. The ********** stated that the heater was unsafe to operate and shut the gas off to the heater. The ********** put a tag on the gas valve which stated, "unsafe to operate". The ********** told me I could not turn the gas back on. To replace the heating and air unit would cost $18,000 to $20,000. The ********** offered to bring in some space heaters and was ready to start the job. I felt like I was being held hostage and being forced into immediate emergency repairs. I stopped the job. I was in disbelief that a heating and air conditioning company with financial interests could shut down my heating unit.Fearing that our heater may start leaking carbon monoxide into our home and that Wickstrom may been taking advantage of me, I got a second opinion.Another heating and air company ********** came out a couple hours later. The ********** sent a camera into the Heat Exchanger. The ********** saw some corrosion which was typical for a unit that was 13 years old. There were no cracks or holes in the Heat Exchanger. The ********** also told me his company never shuts off the gas line or Red Tags a gas line. His company has the customer sign a waiver. I asked the ********** if our system would require a "waiver". The ********** said, "No, this unit is safe to operate".Still worried that our heater may leak carbon monoxide I got a THIRD opinion. Again, it was determined that there was no immediate threat to our safety and turned the gas back on. The third ********** related to me that the Heat Exchanger has a 20 year warranty. And if the Heat Exchanger was damaged it would only cost 6 to 8 hours of labor to replace the Heat Exchanger. NOT $18,000 to $20,000

****** did my annual hvac maintenance and was kind and thorough! He made sure I knew what was happening at each step and did not pressure me at all to make any purchasing decisions. He was also very understanding of the chaos small children bring to the table. He went above and beyond and cleaned my high up intake vent.

I want to give a big shout-out to the amazing team at Wickstrom Plumbing! Kody, ******** ****, and ***** did a top-notch job replacing the water main in our front yard. Even though this was our first experience with Wickstrom, we felt well taken care of from start to finish. Jakes initial interaction set the tone, and the teams professionalism and quality work ensured everything went smoothly. I wouldn't hesitate to call on them again and highly recommend Wickstrom Plumbing to anyone in need of their services. Thank you for your outstanding work!

This is a scam outfit. They claimed our 2 furnaces had failed with cracked heat exchangers. They threatened to shut down our furnaces. Even the manager used scare tactics, repeatedly saying our family was at risk. He then admitted hadn't even seen the technician's photos. The photos were time-stamped from a year and half ago and they weren't even from my furnace. I had a very reputable company come out and verify that my furnaces were in perfect health. My home is only 8 years old. Don't let them into your home.

We stayed with this plumber too long. We are seniors and were glad to have a plumber and trusted Wickstrom. They were good at installing a new water line, furnace and re-pipe. The rest of the time, they found things to fix and most required us to call for follow-up, as the amateurs did not do the work right. They said it was leaking under our brand-new toilet, so we consented to have the wax ring changed. There was no leak. They cut the new vinyl flooring, as they removed the caulk and replaced the caulk in a shabby manner. I called to have the caulk redone and the real plumber did it only slightly better. The plumber detected slow pipe leaks and unbeknownst to us, called their friend, a restoration company, to our home. He should have told us to call our insurance company to see if the job was covered. The clean-up company, Apex Restoration, was excessively destructive, but eventually agreed to a lesser fee. Wickstrom could be a good company, but they charge full amount for their beginners to do their learning at your house. If you have bought their service contract, they will cheerfully return and make it right. When you need plumbing, I recommend that you get the water shut off and call the insurance company, so they can deal with clean-up and restoration. If you are dealing with that problem, get a few bids before you decide. If we can keep others from this plumbing and home destruction grief, it would be worth it, but chances are, you are reading this review, after you were already screwed by Wickstrom or Apex Restoration. It is against the law in other states for a professional to refer another professional and we need to encourage our legislators to make this practice illegal in *****.
