    On 1/16/24 North County Electric replaced our generator. We were severely overcharged. We were given an estimate for an eight hour job. It took only four hours. This was hotly and angrily disputed by the owner until we provided security camera proof that the employees were at our site for only four hours. We were charged $440 for time the employees were not on site. We are approximately 30 minutes from North County Electric. That is an hour of round trip transportation. We were willing to double that and pay for two hours. This should have resulted in a $220 credit to the invoice. We did pay the entire amount because of threats of placing a lien on our property. We have asked North County Electric to refund the $220 with no response at all.

    We have already spoken to this customer, and we have a signed contract for the work provided. It was done timely, and we do charge travel time from our office to the customer location and back. The ring camera they used for the arrival and departure time is not an accurate reflection of the time on the job. We did leave to get other materials on that day for the job and it was in January with extremely cold temperatures which slowed travel time. We require our technicians to drive safely especially in inclement weather. The customer signed a contract and agreed to pay the negotiated amount after we actually lowered the amount that the job would have cost. This customer has been extremely demanding and incorrect in their assessment of the situation. We have previously had contact with the customer and they were very rude in dealing with our company. We have resolved this issue to date.
