I contacted Ibbotson back in March because my heat was not working. They came out on 3/21/25 to address the issue. The technician found that the inducer was running, but that the switch was not closing. They also found a plugged port, which was cleared. After this, they stated that the unit was working and I was charged $149. This did not fix the issue and they were called back out the same day. On their second visit, they replaced the control board, said the unit was working properly, and charged me $40. The unit was still not working and they came out a third time (on the same day) to assess it. I was not charged for this third visit and they ordered a new motor for the unit. They returned on 3/24/25 to replace the inducer motor with the one that they had ordered. I was not charged, and the unit was finally working correctly. It should not have required four separate visits and multiple technicians to address this issue. I contacted the company again in June after my air conditioning stopped working. The unit was running, but was not cooling down my condo and the compressor was making a loud, strange noise. A technician came out on 6/16/25 to address this. After checking it, the technician told me that the unit was not making any noise and that it was working properly. I was charged $184 for this visit. However, upon his departure, the unit still would not cool down the condo even a single degree (this was after it was running for 20+ minutes). I contacted the company again and was told that they would need to send two technicians out to remove the unit and repair it since it was still not functioning properly. However, I was also met with attitude and spoken to as though I was incompetent when I informed them that it was still not working. Due to this treatment, and the issues that I had with them previously, I declined to have them send out two new technicians. Since the issue was never resolved, I would like to receive a refund for the service on 6/16/25.

      Business Response

      Date: 07/03/2025

Issue was resolved with customer.  Full refund of $184.00 was given for service call of 06/16/2025.  Service Manager called customer day of complaint and explained process on how sleeve unit would have to be serviced.  Have to pull cooling chassis to shop to diagnose.  Customer now understands and wanted second opinion due to the intermittent heating issues they had in the past.  Customer stated they were going to rescind the complaint from the BBB and were satisfied with the outcome.
