Car was towed by police and sent to this impound. I filed bankruptcy and included this tow company fees and my car should have been released by them upon notification of filing. Both I and my lawyer called and they are refusing to release my vehicle.

My car was wrongfully towed on 11/28/23 due to cj towing company that was ordered to take my car to an auto shop a block away and got my car and towed it somewhere else other than where I requested it to go. They left my car in a tow zone with the keys still inside and didnt inform the auto shop owner anything. They just left it there. I had to find out that my car was reported stolen the same day it broke down which was on the 24th of November. Fast forward..i get to ********************** and i had to pay $50 to get my car released from the impound. I get to the impound to find out i had to pay $325 and im thinking why is it that much? That means my car been there the very same day it was supposed to be towed to the auto shop. Im still paying my car note but cant drive my car because of this. My dealership got it out the impound for me, only for me to still have to pay $1750 plus getting it fixed and i have to pay my car note in order to keep my car. Can somebody tell me if im wrong for being upset about having to pay that amount when it wasnt my fault it was towed? Cj Towing is responsible for this and i feel like they should be held liable for my car getting towed. I feel like its very u professional to tow someone car and leave it in a tow zone somewhere else other than where it was supposed to be. It was their responsibility to make sure the auto shop owner was informed that my car was there. Im gonna have to get a lawyer on this because i really feel like they should be held responsible and pay the fees.
