Ended up with an automobile loan from Busey. I've had countless auto loans over the years and typically there is nothing to report about them. Normally I barely have to deal with the bank. They take money out of an account every month and eventually the loan is paid off. Should be suuuuper simple. I certainly have never had such a recurringly bad experience with a bank that I've felt compelled to spend time leaving a negative review. Busey on the other hand is the single worst bank I've ever had to deal with and so here I am. I could go into details but, really, why waste more time? Trust me on this one. If you can avoid them, you should...like the plague.

We had opened two different accounts one business one personal. We made this move after we met with a couple of advisors and chose to switch to Busey Bank to be our and only service provider to handle our customer transactions for multiple locations. it was going to be a process and not an immediate complete transition. The personal account we opened with the business account is specifically there to cover any issues of the transition. Within that time I got sick was in and out of the hospital and tragically had to say goodbye to a life long friend who passed away suddenly and tragically on Christmas Day with his five kids and a house full of family that had just turned 52 years old. A few days ago was the first time in a month I tried to use the card and it was declined so when I called I found out that there was a check that had bounced that I had no knowledge of. I immediately transferred ten times the amount of money from the other account to cover the over draft. and was told that our account was in good standing when I asked. I went in to get change, sat there for about 20 minutes waiting to get the change when all of a sudden the manager comes out to who he (the teller) had not spoken to and I had never met in a condescending tone of voice that I could not get change from that account because it had been closed from a charge back from a bounced check that we had protection for we didn't even know about. After I explained to her about the hospital, my illness, the death of my friend and issues with not getting the mail why would she tell me the account is now in good standing, she said
" The customer service person who spoke to me lied to me so they could make sure they would get there money for the charge back and she didnt know if I was going to get any of the extra $1500.00 that was left after paying the over draft" I threw up when i went outside she actually looked like she was enjoying what she was doing.

Granted we were spoiled by our hometown bank, G******* ***** ****. Unfortunately, they sold out to Busey Bank. Busey is the worst bank I have dealt with. Aside from the limited services they offer compared to ***, they no longer are open at our branch on Saturdays, don't offer foreign money services and if you deposit a check that bounced, you can't redeposit the check but have to wait until they mail it back to you and then redeposit it. According to the teller, they don't keep a copy of the check which I find astounding in the age of limitless technology. The ATM machine at our branch was unavailable for several days recently. I have already moved most of my money out of Busey and only keep my checking account to facilitate my automatic bill paying.

Don’t use these losers never and ever. They don’t have even customer service available on Sundays. I was in a gas station only with my debit card and these incompetents blocked my card and my wife had to drive 30 miles to put gas on my card, under the rain with both of my little children, because nobody answered the phone on Sunday.

Where do I begin with how much I hate Busey. My card gets denied due to “issuer rejection” despite constantly telling the support team to stop intervening. I lost my debit, went through the necessary steps to lock and order a new one, I was left without one for 2 weeks and called to find it wasn’t even shipped yet. I want to close my account, and I was told I have to mail in a request? I can’t go into my local branch to do it?

If I could give zero stars, I would, I woke up in morning to find out my entire bank account and check was drained. My debit card was still working at this time, but I cannot access my online banking. I later found out I was hit with fraud and these occurred all over the world, for example London, China, and So on and so forth. I would’ve thought that you would allow me to see my banking information to prevent fraud however, they allow the fraud to continue and disabled me from viewing anything on my account. I went to my local branch to dispute these transactions and get a new debt card. Only to be handed a piece of paper that gave me a 30 day notice that I would be essentially fired from their bank. Although the people at this branch were super nice, the fraud department clearly does not have the best customer service and did not have any empathy for all of my money vanishing

If it were possible I would give this negative stars. They don't know what they are doing. They seem to work by their own wims, not baking rules. Unnecessary demands, unreasonable demands. Would never ever recommend Busey, the bank they bought was awesome. Can't wait for the day I can close the accounts there.
