Tried to rip me off! Charged me $4000 for 2 guys standing around half the day. Then tried sending me a bill for an additional $12,000 to finish the job. Totaling over $16,000 just to replace 3 feet of sewer line!!! And it's still not fixed! They only did half the job!!!!
I can have a 3 chamber septic system installed for less then $10,000!!!!!
These people tried to rip off a disabled veteran in a wheelchair!!! Do not trust them!!217 Inc.

Chris, while we value honest feedback from our customers, this review is completely false. We were not hired by you for a repair. We were contacted through a 3rd party internet company because you claimed they damaged your sewer which, in reality, you had been attempting to repair yourself for over a year as seen in the picture you uploaded as well as in the video on your business profile from WCIA where you were asking for donations for your shed. Unfortunately, you only seem to be looking for a handout. When it was questionable that a 3rd party internet company had damaged your sewer, you decided to look for a way to get the repair work for free and threaten that company as “trying to take advantage of you” despite the fact that you had been aware of this long term existing issue. When we found out the sewer was not damaged by the internet company, we contacted you and you acknowledged that you were, in fact, liable for the costs. You even attempted to finance the repair. It seems that once that was not an option, you decided that you needed to slander our reputation to attempt to mitigate the costs of this repair. Given your military stature and current struggles, we had even offered to absorb some of the cost of the repair for you as did the internet company despite the fact that they were not at fault. Their offer was most likely made under the duress of the threats you made to slander their company. Quite frankly, it is shameful that you are attacking an honest company who tried to help you. You are correct that our bill was $6,000, but we discounted it for you to try to assist you as we take great pride in being part of the central Illinois communities as a locally owned business and doing what we can to help those in need. Yes, you need further work; however, that was not in the original scope of work. And, yes, it requires very extensive work which means expensive repairs. Everything we have done has been permitted, inspected, is up to code, and done to the standard of care and quality that we are proud to put our name behind. We encourage you to look for another company to get other bids from and to complete any repairs you determine to have made.Review fromTeresa O

I will never call 217 again and I hope you won't either! They sent a tech out when my furnace was not working. He explained my heat exchanger was cracked and my furnace was not under warranty.
I then got over six bid ranging from $4500 to $15,000 to replace my furnace/system. Come to find out my furnace was indeed under warranty and C******** ******* *** *** came and fixed it, only charging me labor since my furnace is still under warranty.
Jake from 217 hung up on me twice when I was trying to rectify the situation. Then I spoke to Tony and after him back stepping for almost 15 minutes, I finally got my $80 service fee refunded. I should have taken them to court for deceptive business practices.
I fear for other single women, older people, or actually the general public being taken advantage of by 217.
DON'T call 217! Call a more reputable company217 Inc.

We have followed up with our HVAC team and have been made aware of the incorrect warranty information that was originally provided by the manufacturer, and we share your frustrations regarding this matter. While your equipment was in fact deemed unsafe to operate due to heat exchanger concerns and bypassed safeties, the correct warranty information would have helped us provide you with even more repair/replacement options so you could make the best decision for you and your equipment.

Wonderful service! We had the heat go out - on a Saturday- and the technician was there within two hours! Very knowledgeable and friendly - I highly recommend this company! I have used them for both plumbing and heating in the past. Rates are reasonable and work is completed expertly and efficiently. A++217 Inc.
