I cannot in good conscience give Mt. Hope even a single star. Their service does not warrant it. My husband was buried at Mt Hope cemetery in August 25, 2017. On September 30, 2017, I purchased a granite headstone that was PAID IN FULL as stipulated in the purchase order contract. On Sunday, August 27, 2023, I attempted (deliberate use of word) to visit my husband's gravesite and discovered that his headstone had been moved from its original place above his gravesite and placed haphazardly under a tree. I was not informed that his marker needed to be moved and I most certainly would not have agreed to its displacement/misplacement under a tree. The treatment that I received on Monday was equal to their tossing my husband's marker under a tree. I had to voice my concerns over an intercom before being granted access into the establishment. The person on the opposite end on the intercom could be seen speaking to me through the glass and was reluctant to get up from her seat and walk the 10 steps to open the door. The receptionist informed me that they had to remove the headstone on Saturday, August 27, 2023, due to a burial in the area and fear that they may damage the marker. So, their attempt at safeguarding the marker was to place it under a tree so that anyone could trip over it, sit on it, or completely trash it. I spoke with a groundskeeper who did not realize that the marker was not returned. The marker was moved on August 5th (not the 27th), and it is the policy of the cemetery that it should be returned within 48 hours of its being disturbed, thus the misplacement. I can give a greater description of disrespect paid to me from a place where unconditional positive regard is expected throughout my lifetime and generations that follow me and want to visit his resting place. However, I will end this saying that a single star rating would be a disrespect to any establishment that would provide a modicum of care. Mt. Hope provided me with no care at all.

I purchased a grave site for my loved one on May 5, 2023. The total amount was approximately $5400 and paid in full on the very same day of my visit. I was notified by the funeral home that my loved one had been approved for burial at ***************************** National Cemetery. On May 9, I notified ************************************ via phone and requested a refund. She informed me that she would let her supervisor know. I contacted Mt. Hope on May 12th and was not able to speak with **** or the supervisor. I called again on May 13th and was unsuccessful. However, I was informed by a young lady that answered the phone that it would take over 2 months to receive a refund. This is absolutely unheard of and besides I paid with a debit card and Mt. Hope didnt have any issues with the transaction. As Im reading the previous reviews, my heart breaks for those families. My situation might be a case for the ************************ of ************* to get involved. I need my funds now.

Hi, I would like for someone to help investigate Mt. Hope cemetery. My son was murdered in 2021, Im usually up there visiting his grave site 3 to 4 times a week. I couldnt go last week due to medical issues Im now experiencing. On todays date my niece called and sent me pictures this morning on how they removed my son headstone and vase and another headstone just sitting on top of mud out the ground. I paid $3,000 for this headstone. Why is it out the ground? No one called me to say anything. How can this be my son final resting place?

I ordered a grave marker for my grandparents June 2022. Was told it would be ready in 90 days. Here it is December 2022 and no one will return my phone calls for an update. There was no issue collecting my money. Yet they are so unprofessional that they can't even follow up with me to let me know whats going on.
