I received an email stating that I have an outstanding debt of $1620.50 and I need to contact an attorney named ***** ******** to settle. I have never taken out a loan with this company. Transactions were 04/01/2025 for the amount of $150 insurance for a loan I didn't receive in the amount of $2500 . 04/05/2025 transaction of refundable $250 I was told for a transfer from cashnet third party bank to my chime account which never happened do to an entity I wasn't informed was apart of our business affairs. Who interrupted the transfer asking for a $300 release fee. I was unaware of . I was told my $250 was added to the loan to be sent back to me. Once I learned of this new fee I felt scammed and backed out the loan. I was then told I wouldn't get my $250 refund back. That I was getting my $150 insurance I bought refunded which never happened.Business Response

I did a loan on May 8 ******************************** a one time fee for ****** then I sent it then got a letter for saying I need ****** for a transfer fee I sent that and then I get a letter for ****** talking about the credit bureau fee at that time I told him I was cancelling my loan because I didn't have any more money to send he goes on to say it will take *************************************************************** to pay the ****** I tell him again I want a refund and I'm not longer interested he hangs up I call back and get his voicemail and then I called again and it was disconnected I called from my daughter's phone it rang and it went to voicemail all I want to know is how was he going to send my money back when he had me to put it on a apple gift card.Business Response

I have been receiving multiple emails, text messages and phone calls from a do called lawyer named ***** ***** claiming to work for the settlement department at CashNetUSA. I have never taken a loan out with them and their company is forbidden to do business in ****** for bad business operations. Ive sent countless reviews of fraudulent accounts being opened with this companyand this is no different!!! Even if I ever wanted to open something up with these people. On August 2, 2019, Mr. ****** opened a $1,900.00 limit Line of Credit with CashNetUSA. When Mr. ****** applied for the line of credit, he was presented with and required to agree to the CashNetUSA and Terms and Conditions (Agreement)if he wanted to proceed with the application process; he acknowledged his acceptance by electronic signature on the application dated August 2, 2019.Before he entered the agreement, CashNetUSA disclosed the terms and conditions of the Line of Credit including the Annual Percentage Rate (APR) for Cash Advances and Paying Interest. The interest applicable to a cash advance were fully set forth in the agreement, a copy of which was provided to her (via email) when she opened the account.
As set forth in the Agreement,he is required to make at least the minimum payment every billing period that has an outstanding balance.
Since establishing the line of credit, nine (9) cash advances have been requested. CashNetUSA has received several payments toward the account balance. However, the account balance became past due and our collection efforts were initiated.Due to continued non-payment of the past due amounts, on February 21, 2022, the line of credit was sold to a third-party debt buyer, ************** (Plaza).
It appears Mr. ****** may be asserting that he may be the victim of identity theft. Please note, contrary to his assertion, our records do not indicate that he has directly contacted our customer service department to report that the above mentioned transaction was fraudulent and he was the victim of identity theft. In addition, our records do not indicate that Mr. ****** has contacted our customer support team directly to request validation of the debt. However,upon receipt of the BBB complaint, we have submitted his request to send a copy of the loan agreement.Please note, if Mr. ****** is asserting that he may be the victim of identity theft, in accordance with our policy, in order to begin our investigation, we ask that he file a police report and provide a full copy to CashNetUSA via email or fax to:

This is the second time that someone has fraudulently filed for a payday loan using some part of my identity. I'm assuming it's my SSN. The first time was with Speedy Cash, this time with CashNetUSA. I have never asked for a payday loan or cash advance, yet it's apparently very easy for someone to do online with little to no documentation. I filed an identity theft report on the Speedy Cash advance and was cleared of wrongdoing. I'm going to have to file another one for CashNetUSA. My complaint is with the relative ease and lack of identity verification, such as photo ID, passport, address, etc. When I called the debt collector for Speedy Cash, I asked if they had photo ID proof and additional documentation to whom the payment was going to. They said that someone can just go online and use my SSN to get a payday loan. This to me is unacceptable and very frustrating that I have to go through filing an identity theft report every time this happens. This is time and frustration that I do not need in my day to file something for these company's gross negligence. There should be more regulation on their practices and a higher level of proof of identity than a SSN.Business Response

I was looking for a loan of $5.000 so cash net offered the loan to me then Mrs. ***** ****** who works for cash net contacted me. And said that I needed to send them $150.00 to process the loan and said I must go to a 7Eleven to get the Go Card. So I did do that the next day she contacted me again and said I need to send them another $250.00 in order to receive the loan. I then told her I dont want the loan anymore please send me my money back to me. The very next day another gentleman called me in behalf of cash net said he couldnt return my money because the loan went through.
