Front Desk rep around 7 pm on June 29th was terrible; she argues and Hotel oversold rooms and attempted to give me a much lower quality room than what I booked. Almost bordering fraudulent business tactics and negative customer service. Never stay here.

Disappointment following a recent stay at a Hyatt-affiliated property—Dreams Tulum Resort & Spa—from June 18–23, 2025. What was meant to be a relaxing vacation became a distressing experience, marked by poor service, unclean accommodations, and what appeared to be racially biased treatment.
Upon arrival, I was given a room that had clearly not been properly cleaned: urine on the toilet seat, visible mold or dirt in the tub jets, and a pervasive mildew odor from the bedding. Despite reporting this immediately, the issue was not addressed. After hours of waiting, I was moved multiple times to rooms that were either in similar condition or handled with indifference by the staff. By the end of the first day, I was emotionally exhausted. Throughout my stay, my party and I encountered rude, dismissive staff, particularly at the Seaside Grill and Hibachi restaurant. At Seaside Grill, we were served food we didn’t order, denied proper communication, and then told to leave while other (white) guests were allowed to stay. At Hibachi, my confirmed reservation was inexplicably reassigned to another guest, and the hostess showed no willingness to resolve the situation. I also encountered multiple service failures, including:
A concierge (Laura) who was unhelpful and ignored simple requests; Delays and inconsistencies with luggage pickup; Inaccessible Preferred Club amenities despite paying for them; A noticeable lack of concern from hotel management despite my complaints; Overbooking issues affecting other guests in my group of approximately 90.
I work hard all year with the hope of enjoying one well-earned vacation. This experience failed on every front. I was not offered any compensation, apology, or even basic courtesy, and I left feeling dismissed and undervalued—especially as a Black woman.
I respectfully request a formal investigation into these matters, appropriate compensation for my experience, and a written apology.

Hyatt Place ************************** Mi We made our reservation being very aware of what requirements we needed for a handicapped individual. We booked a room indicating that it would have a roll in shower. We even called the day before to confirm that we would have that room upon arrival.Unfortunately when we arrived the desk clerk said that all those types of rooms were filled. I proceeded to say that we confirmed our reservations and that it was vital to have a roll in shower. The clerk said that he could provide us with a room with a tub. He proceeded to look down at my husband who is in a wheelchair with a degrading look. The clerk said that he could provide us with a room with a tub. I proceeded to tell him that is not safe..He also said we should go to the ************** maybe they had a room. I proceeded to say we really do not have time for that and our reservations are for here. I said that it would be dangerous and could fall and that is a liability. He followed up to say that it's not a liability because the room is considered a handicapped room. l accepted the room because we had an appointment Corporate and management have not responded . Hyatt does not back there mission statement which is stated below.Accessibility at ********* We are committed to providing equal access and opportunity for individuals with disabilities. The features also make this hotel more accessible for older individuals with changing abilities to ensure a seamless experience. Our overall goal is to improve usability throughout the hotel for all guests.

****************************************** / ***************** (Affiliated with Hyatt)Issue: Fraudulent Misrepresentation During Timeshare Enrollment On March 26, 2025, my partner and I attended a UVC sales presentation at Dreams **********, **********, hosted by ******* **** She misrepresented herself as affiliated with World of Hyatt and used high-pressure tacticsincluding serving us alcoholto persuade us to sign a contract under false pretenses.******* promised us:21 free premier nights at Hyatt resorts (immediately usable)4 RCI weeks at $299 with no mention of blackout dates or extra fees A $3,000 flight rebate ($500 per person per year for 3 years)An $89 annual membership fee (our contract says $185 with increases)None of this was in the signed contract. When we asked for the handwritten benefit list she used during the pitch, she refused and said wed get it by email, which never happened. We paid $9,386 up front, but later learned we couldnt use any benefits until monthly payments begancontradicting what we were told. We had planned a vacation for ********** 8 for Priscillas birthday, but couldn't afford to book through UVC. We ended up road-tripping and using ************************** because it was cheaper than using our new membership.*** refused to cancel or refund us, even after a detailed complaint. We feel misled and financially exploited. We used only $800 in gift vouchers, which were willing to return or deduct. Were requesting full cancellation and a refund of $8,586. We urge Hyatt to investigate this unethical behavior occurring under the World of Hyatt brand.

My recent stay at Secrets Tulum from 5/13-5/17 a Hyatt Company. Unfortunately, my experience was deeply disappointing due to significant cleanliness and pest issues, multiple room changes, and an overall failure to provide the standard of accommodation expected. Key Issues Experienced:Multiple Room **************** Severe Pest Infestation - Across multiple rooms, I encountered numerous live bugs, including in the bed, bathroom, and general living areas. - On my last night, I was unable to sleep due to the constant presence of bugs, resorting to sleeping with the lights on and suffering physical discomfort. - Bugs were also present in common areas, such as near the rooftop pool. Unaddressed Concerns & Dismissive Staff Response: - Despite reporting the bug issue, the only action taken was room changes, with no evident resolution to the larger infestation problem. - A concierge asked me not to mention this issue in the hotel survey, which is highly concerning as it suggests an awareness of the problem but no effort to fix it. - The hotels location in a jungle does not justify the presence of bugs inside rooms at this scale, and proper pest control should be maintained. Refund ******************** unresolved. The hotel has gone unresponsive to my request for a full refund of $1242 for the three nights. This was not the luxury experience advertised, and I did not receive the quality of service expected from a property in this category.

I booked by phone with Hyatt. Besides a faulty automated system they mis-quoted the price of my hotel and then booked me at a higher rate. When I tried to call back and address is they basically told me it was my problem. It's sad that these large corporations are not accountable for their employees.

The security guard old lady I believe her name is ***** and both male supervisors here are absolutely RACIST. They treat anyone who is a person of color like the scum on the bottom of their shoes. The supervisor old guy with glasses makes the women here feel uncomfortable. I have seen it and experienced it first hand. Once you turn him down he starts treating you like c*** Avoid this place because a bunch of RACIST people work here and I want to emphasize that the security guards here will try and harass you and give you a hard time if you are a person of color.

I stayed at the Grand Hyatt in ************* in February 2025. When I returned home, I checked my credit card bill and they had charged me twice. The bill I expected and another bill for over $1,500. I contacted them and the customer service person said they would have it corrected and it was someone else's room. After a month, they still hadn't corrected it. I disputed it with my credit card company and they sent documentation saying that my card had been used to book two rooms. The documentation they sent showed that one room was booked with my **************** and the other was booked by a totally different person using a Master Card. My credit card company cancelled my dispute saying they gave documentation. When I contacted the Hyatt again, they said they couldn't do anything because I had filed a dispute. In their documentation, they said they had emailed the other person about the room cancellation saying they cancelled after the deadline. Everything in the documentation showed that I didn't book the room but they wouldn't discuss it to reverse the charge. I'm sticking with ****** from here on. Very, very poor customer service and shady business practices.

We booked directly through Hyatt and were called just hours before arrival (while at the airport) to be told our reservation was canceled due to maintenance. No real help was offered, and the manager who promised to call back never did. We later found out from family staying there that the hotel had overbooked. Incredibly unprofessional and stressful experience. Very disappointed.

******** booked me at Hyatt *****************, which was the wrong hotel. I needed to stay at the Hyatt **************, which was close to theWang theater upon trying to cancel one booking and staying at the same hotel but its a different location. They charged me for two rooms and one night they told me it shouldnt be a problem for me changing the booking over because I was staying at the Hyatt hotel still. I did not get this information until later on that evening after I rebooked a new room at another Hyatt Regency location, which was Hyatt Regency Boston so I paid for two bookings in one night.
