I went to see Dr. ****** ***** in *******************, ******** for my annual preventative physical on January 24th, 2025, and when I received my bill from Village Medical, the preventative physical was covered 100%, but I received an additional charge of $105.84. This apparently is because my doctor discussed changing my existing Hypertension medication ********** from 10mg to 20mg. The doctor recommended this after taking my blood pressure which was part of the physical. I contacted Village Medical, and they explained that because my doctor discussed Hypertension with me it isnt covered as part of a my annual physical?? Village medical stated that they would send a message to the doctors office, and I should expect to hear back within 3-5 business days. I did not get a response. I also sent several emails to my doctor about this billing issue using the Village Medical portal and never received a response. Today April 3, 2025, the Village Medical billing department called to inform me that they are going to send my overdue bill of $105.84 to a collections office in a couple of days. I asked to speak with a manager and was told the managers do not speak to customers. They told me I had no other options and must pay the ******** do I get this additional charge removed? Thank you, *** *******Business Response

The doctors have misdiagnosed me, been negligent and rude as well as their staff. All took place in February 2025. Their billing and referral departments have no communication and my messages dont get relayed. I have been trying to resolve issues for a long time. I have also tried getting a refund for my appointments but the process has been going on since March 4th and all I get is well escalate to management and theyll reach out to you but no one does. I want a refund and I want an apology from the doctors, their staff and the practice managers.Business Response

Complaint: 23081555
I am rejecting this response because: I received an email that a message has been left with the billing team regarding my claim for a refund. The whole reason I sent a claim to the BBB was because the doctors billing team has taken over 4 weeks to get back to me about this refund when I have followed up SEVERAL times and I have had messages to their escalation team yet no one has taken care of it.I would like a different resolution because their billing department is not helpful.

Complaint: 23081555
I am rejecting this response because:
I have already spoken with the billing department of the company and everyone said the decision is up to the practice manager. If the practice manager had any human decency, to see how stressful this has been on me and to realize his faults that he can somehow call the cops after I threaten suicide 4 separate times (only took until the 4th time for them to actually call) but still has yet to reach out to me HIMSELF, that he should give me a refund. Services may have been provided but they were absolutely unacceptable. No human in their right mind should have to pay for what I have been through with this clinic. Between the doctors failing to document their notes properly to the other doctors awful bedside manner - this business is a sham and I hope they all realize how awful they treat their patients. I can wait for my refund via BBB or I will wait for it via *************************. Either way, the doctors, practice manager and clinic will PAY.

Payments were made to the doctor using a credit card on three separate occaisions. It was discovered that the billing company did not have the correct insurance information in order to bill the insurance. Once they received the correct insurance information, the insurance company completely paid those. invoices. However, these bills were paid oon August 2024 and I have requested refunds almost every week and keep getting put off. I was just informed that ssince the credit card I used is no longer active, I will have to be refunded via check but this has not happened yet. I was assured that a senior official would be in contact with me last week and have not received that call. All I want is a refund on the money I have already spent and has been double paid.Business Response

On Oct 23rd, 2024 I scheduled a telehealth visit with VillageMD. A nurse called me to start the supposed visit, was rude, said I needed to go someplace else or schedule to see my ********************** I stated he has been away and unavailable for 7 months now. She said basically not her problem and to go somewhere/anywhere else. I said you guys are fired as my provider, and hung up. Whole call was 45 seconds. This is not a 5 to 10 min health visit, it was a 45 sec joke. Come to find they billed me for a health visit which is basically fraud. I called their customer billing people 6 times, each time they lied to me and told me the bill would be removed/reversed. I finally asked to speak to the supervisor, they said supr. was "Busy" but would call me back within 24 hrs. Of course, that was yet another lie. I'm not really expecting anyone at Villagemd to care but I think it is my duty to file this complaint and perhaps save others from a nightmare experience with these people.Business Response

I took my daughter, Vivienne **** in for her 3 year old well visit to meet a new provider at Village Medical in ***********. The provider spent time asking us about ********** health history and any concerns. During the visit I mentioned that ******** had a rash on her chin. I didn't think twice about it being any extra cost or concern as we were there for a visit and discussion with her new provider. Nothing was mentioned that any discussion other than that about her blood pressure, height, weight etc would be an extra cost and excessive charge to both me and my insurance. I'm tired of Village Medical doing this. It's like you are just a number to them and any questions/concerns result in hundreds of dollars extra being charged. I consider it fraud. What's the point of even having an appointment set up to see a provider if everything is just going to be coded to something else and I'll be charged extra for asking any questions? Village Medical has a duty to explain and advise patients IN ADVANCE if they are going to incur excessive charges so that patients can decide for themselves if they want to pay the heinous fees or just avoid them all together by not engaging with the provider. Mind you this discussion about a rash lasted less than 2 minutes and my insurance an I were charged over $200. It's ridiculous. The rash cleared up on its own and the moral of the story is more hand washing and less fingers in the mouth.Business Response

Complaint: 22937461
I am rejecting this response because:The business sent me a stupid message saying that I should call my insurance before visiting to ask what is covered or not. Why in the world would I call my insurance to ask if I can ask questions? Really? So what is covered then in a 'well visit?' Height, weight, and blood pressure? Parents can't share concerns when meeting a new provider or ask questions about something. Village Medical is in this for a money grab. They worst part is they make NO effort to disclose that ANY questions or concerns raised will be charged hundreds extra. Its completely heinous and everything is that is WRONG with healthcare in the ************* today. My best interest or that of my child is NOT a priority. It's only their bottom line. I want the bill cancelled as they failed to inform us that it wouldn't be covered under my 'well visit' and Village Medical to start disclosing to patients upfront costs if they intend to force hundreds of dollars of extra charges on unsuspecting patients.

I have been a patient of this practice since the summer of 2023. The primary care physician I had was great and I had no complaints with the office. In the spring of 2024 they were re- by their original owners, switching from Village medical to priority health group. I have several serious medical conditions that require referrals from my primary togo to my insurance. My original primary care physician, left the practice and recommended me to another physician with high regards. I have been contacting that physician via the portal for over a month as well as calling the appointment line, nurse line, and referral line at the practice and leaving multiple voicemails. I cannot a hold of anybody at the office. I switched to a new primary care elsewhere, but in order to move my referrals they need my medical record. I have personally reached outto them, the medical records office at the new primary care has reached out to them, and my primary care himself has reached out to . It has been Over two weeks, and they still have not responded to any of us, returned voicemails, or answered messages on their patient portal. They are neglecting my healthcare and causing physical and emotional issues at no regard. Their current management is absolutely unacceptable.Business Response

I had my annual physical on 12/19/24. I received an invoice showing a balance due for an office visit on top of my annual adult physical (which is covered at 100%). I requested Village Medical review my chart as all topics discussed were part of regular screenings. Their response is that the charge is valid because my doctor mentioned continuing with my current diet and exercise plan and this is outside of the realm of a preventative visit. I had a similar issue with them in the past and this is showing a pattern of deceptive billing practices. Their actions appear to be trying to get around the legislation that preventative care is covered at 100% and try to bill additional charges.Business Response

I had regular doctor's visit on 2/28/2024 at Village Medical which was a regular physical. In November of 2024, Village Medical sent me a bill for $612. I spoke to my insurance who stated that they paid Village Medical $200 of a $245 line item for the doctor's visit. Another weird charge of $206 was added for the same doctor's visit for no apparent and the insurance essentially stated that they only pay for one doctor's visit on a particular day and indicated this was a really unusual charge. Based on my research, it appears that Village Medical has been making a number of shady charges in the past 1-2 years which I believe related to the statement that *** ********* made to investors in a earnings call in June 2024. The statement is follows: "We believe in the future of these businesses [VillageMD, Summit Health and ******] and intend to remain an investor and partner, but as part of our persistent focus on value creation for ********* Boots Alliance, we are collaborating with leadership toward an endpoint to rapidly unlock liquidity, enhance optionality and position them for additional growth,"The reference to "unlock liquidity" appears to be in line with fact that VillageMD is using unethical means of extracting money out their patients. At first VillageMD denied that they had received the $200 from ************* (the insurance company) and wanted me to pay that amount as well. They have recently agreed to remove that amount from the bill.I told VillageMD that I was willing to pay for the remaining line items including the $45 remaining from the $245 line item but not the 2nd charge for physician's services of $206 for the same day. I refuse to pay for unethical charges and need VillageMD to reverse the $206 charge.Regards **** *******Business Response

This complaint is in regards to an invoice I am receiving for DOS 8/2. This appointment was no different than my other monthly visits of the same kind. For some reason, I am being billed for this and it has been covered on other DOS before and After. I have contacted someone on 12/4, 12/16 and 12/29. Each time I am being told that this will be going to the escalting team and can take 5 business days. I never receive follow up communication and then I call and it starts the process all over again. I have received another email today regarding this past due amount. My EOB also states that I am not responsible for this. There is no way to speak to someone in the ************* as all calls go to someplace offshore. I would like this handled once and for all. If I am able to pull all my paperwork on this, so can your billing department.Business Response
