1 starVillage Medical is the absolute worst company I have ever experienced in health care, and that's saying a lot! They have LESS THAN ZERO customer service and it's normal for them to make you wait for over an hour for an appointment, whether in person or virtual.Review fromBrett B

After recommending and pushing my wheelchair to get immunizations at my local ************ they charged me over $200 for a Shingles vaccine that would have been free. This facility absolutely misled, overcharged, and sent my account to collection. BE VERY CAREFUL !!! In my opinion, the staff is EXTREMELY DECEPTIVE !!VillageMD

I found Village Medical when It was just coming out. The fact that appointments or walk-ins helpful. I signed up my entire family through this young , new doctor. He and his staff were kind and made us all feel comfortable and confidant in their services. Then one day, at an appointment, before closing, I over heard a call from Corporate. It shook the Doctor and his staff. I can't remember the exact details, but it was basically saying fill appointments and increase profits. Another time, I was with my now deceased mother at her appointment. They were pushing vaccines really hard on her. Even though in my research I found some of these unnecessary and risky for her age and demographic. She stopped asking me to go with her. Last year, my mother had to go to the *** she couldn't breath. The staff was unable to find 15 minutes for an emergency tele-health conference call , we had to wait two weeks. The day of her appointment, she passed away. She had taken their recommended pneumonia vaccine, but strange to find that is what they claimed killed her on the death certificate. Since 2015, the medical industry has been slowly changing what it sets as a priority. For example the definition of a "primary care doctor"(PC) , was someone that was capable of diagnosing and treating common issues; rarely did the need for a specialist occur. Today, PC is little more than the concierge at a Hotel; recommending the sites to visit with the possibility of that doctors knowledge understanding your issue. You get passed around for weeks, months into years without finding any real conclusions or anything vital , at all. They want to force their standard annual testing, like mammograms, when perhaps other testing should be considered. They just wait until minor issues blow into major ones that are profitable and allowed by corporate, for the to bother to treat. Health problems they can keep you on lifetime of prescriptions until renal failure brings your death.VillageMD

Dishonest and Unethical Practice I contemplated for a long time before I decided that I need to share my experience to bring awareness and protect other from falling into the same trap. I am not a person that leaves negative reviews, but this needs to be done for the protection of others. This applies to Village Medical office in **********, **, the office manager there and ******* ******, ***If I could rate them below zero, I would. I went for my annual physical and since my doctor left the practice, I was given an appointment with ******* ******, MD. She spent no more than 5 min in the room with me and did not do anything to complete my annual check. She sat on her chair the entire time and did not even listen to by breathing or heart rate. I was shocked when I received a bill for my annual physical and a separate one for another doctors visit on the same day, as well as a bill for additional blood. ***** asked for my permission to do extra blood work testing, nor they informed me that additional tests are needed.I called the billing department, and they told me they billed me correctly based on the notes the doctor left for them. The office manager refused to let me talk to the doctor. She was not interested at all in understanding my concerns and was determined to cover something. Dealing with her was rather unpleasant.I was asked to call back multiple times, explaining my concerns repeatedly.Medical care should be transparent, respectful, and focused on the patient's well-being. The doctors take an Oath to help people, but this office manager and doctor are more interested in how to wrongfully bill people and insurance companies for a few extra dollars. This is very wrong, completely dishonest, highly unethical, and incredibly disturbing. Please do not fall a victim of this fraudulent medical practice.I will never go there again and will not recommend anyone else to trust them with their medical needs.VillageMD

I guess Village Medical is better in *******/***********. I like all the Drs I have seen. The staff at the office are all nice. My only complaint is that you cannot get a visit, even to a Nurse Practitoner, for usually over ***************************************************************************************************************************************************************** 3 months. A follow-up, as they like to call it. I did finally find an office that I can get in to see someone in a few days to a week. I don't like that it's not close to my house, but that's ok. Drs offices and anything medical are shot-staffed, so they say. We just have to roll with the punches. If I need to be seen on the same day, we'll, I guess that's what urgent care is for.VillageMD

Regretfully, Dr ******* is not a physician I would recommend. My husband has severe pulmonary disease (ILD-Pulmonary Fibrosis). On Friday March 7th a staff employee **** called to inform me that Dr ******* will not approve the referral request fora rheumatologist at U of M. -he prefers my husband see a specialist in-network (@village medical). I tried to convey the severity and circumstances why my husband requires this appointment and to please have Dr ******* call me back so I can further discuss this with him. **** advised me to call the office immediately & speak with Dr ******* to explain the importance of this referral. The front desk employee said the doctor left for the day and she will forward my request for a callback. On Monday March 10th **** called back to inform my husband that the doctor still refuses to process the referral request. Per ****- Dr ******* stated he does not know the doctor personally nor does he have a rapport with the rheumatologist at U of M. She stated he does have a relationship with the rheumatologist that is in-network. I explained to **** again the severity of this disease & that my husband is being tested for a very rare autoimmune disease & that it could be the causation of his pulmonary fibrosis diagnosis. I informed her that the rheumatologist at U of M specializes in treating this particular disease (myositis) I expressed the referral is imperative & time is of the essence being that his next appointment is on March 21st. I think it is unprofessional & reprehensible that Dr ******* did not have the common courtesy to call us back -Instead he had an office employee call to relay the message. Furthermore, both Dr ******* ****** remarked that the local pulmonologist shouldve known better than to refer a patient to another specialist without his consent. The pulmonologist is aware of the referral policy/procedures-but due to the progression of the disease and lung biopsy results urgency took precedence.VillageMD

They began outsourcing their calls and I can no longer get appointments. Multiple times Ive scheduled and then been told there was no appointment scheduled despite confirming previously. The doctors and company do not care about their patients and only care about money. Its evident with how many doctors have left as well as how many patients wont return when VM took over only recently. They put my yearly wellness visit as an optional visit so I had to pay out of pocket afterwards.VillageMD
