  We had a great experience with improovy. We got our fence, exterior door, and hallway painted, and the final product looks amazing! Getting a quote was really easy, and the team was very simple to coordinate with. The painters were prompt and professional, and even returned after a few days to do touch *** on any paint that bubbles as it dried due to the heat.

  Complaint: improovy said they use subcontractors with full insurance and they subcontracted a company, Top Painters who does not have property damage liability coverage and additionally are not in good standing with the state of IL. They also took disregard for covering my furniture or floors when they returned to work in my home causing more damage. Top Painting destroyed my newly refinished floors by scratching them deep into the wood in numerous places. Improovy also lies about the type of paint they use and overcharge you. I hired Improovy on around 3/10/23 to paint my home, baseboards and repair some drywall and esp ceiling seems that were cracked throughout the home. I was working with **********************. Upon signing the contract/ I was put in touch with ******************** who said he was sending Top Painting to my project. Upon the work starting on 3/15 I noticed they didnt use duration paint that I paid for. On 3/20/23 I sent ***** picture of areas that needed repainted, cracks that werent repaired & paint on the ceilings. He responded Whoa! Yes we can ********* up the ceilings with paint & have ****, the lead painter take a closer look at the cracks on seams to see what can be done about the cracks. On 3/30 I told ***** that the ceiling seem repair wasnt holding & I texted ************ was upset the floors were scratched down deep into the ********* appeared they took a razor blade to the floors in front of baseboards to scratch off paint in about 30 places. I cant repair nor replace those boards as the aged walnut floors had just been refinished & new boards wont match. Top painting nor improovy contacted me, I placed an insurance claim for the floors. Top painters insurance doesnt have property damage although they are still responsible for the damage. This company is horrible, and I believe hires workers who have no skill set or responsibility. They left my home like a zoo w/ plaster on my furniture, paint splatter on the floors as they did not cover them.

  ***, thank you for your review. Each of the issues pointed out were discussed during the project. For example, the Duration paint didn't have the preferred sheen, and the change was discussed before application. Another example is the cracks that reappeared after the patching were a result of movement in the walls from the building's sway. Unfortunately we weren't able to keep the cracks from coming back short of rebuilding the walls.The damage claims are going through the insurance process, which we agree is frustrating.   After reading some of their stellar house painting reviews, I called Improovy to get a quote on my interior painting project. I spoke with ***** and received a quote that same day. The painting estimate was incredibly detailed and was priced right along the lines of the other painting bids I had received. During the painting project, painters were just as detailed and professional as ***** had been with the estimate. Their painting work was impeccable and they were always extremely friendly and accommodating during the entire interior painting project. What really impressed me was how happy and positive the entire crew was during the project. There was a ton of tough prep and patching work to do. But, every step of the way, they kept a smile on their faces and genuinely enjoyed working together as a team. It was refreshing to work with professional painters that really wanted to do a great job and had fun doing it! Not something you see every day. The cleanup at the end was as detailed as the painting. I have already referred Improovy's painting crews to multiple friends and family looking for house painters. I also look forward to working with them this coming spring to paint my home's exterior.

  Do not use this painter!!!!!!! I had them paint my living room/foyer (18' high) a few months. They use outside contractors to do the work. The workers broke my alarm and denied it. They were supposed to use a certain paint and when they showed up, they had a different paint and tried to get me to use it, I refused and they had to go out and buy the paint I requested. They were suppose to apply two coats and on many walls, and they didn't. I told them about this and they told me the walls were still wet. Hours later, you can see where they did not paint those walls. The company sent out an inspector to see what the issue was, and she agreed that the painters messed up. It took them a week to get back to me with another painter to fix the areas and they told me I need to let the walls dry. Once again the walls were patchy. I was lucky that the areas that needed touch up, I was able to reach/paint myself. I informed the *************** manager (she was a waste of time) of what happened and the owner told me that he will refund me part of my money back...he never did. I entered a bad review on ****** and for some strange reason that review was removed. Make sure when you interview a painter, that they use their own people and do not sub-contract the work out. If you have the paint you want to use, make sure you send a pic of the paint to the painters to make sure there was no mistake (I had pics, which saved a lot of time) Stay away from this company!!!!!!
