My husband died August 23 2024. We had an annuity with bankers life. They are finding every excuse not to give me my money. From the agent being sick to paperwork changing and no one noticing. I need help. I'm getting the run around.

I couldn't figure out how to leave a review on your website, so I'm sending this here (and in a few other places). I'm currently working with an agent to have my *** rolled into a 403(b) or similar account. At around 12 noon today we spoke with an agent named ****. After providing my social security number to look up my policy information, we were told that I did not have an account with Bankers Life. We mentioned our intent of the call at the start of this exchange, but it took repeating my SSN several times before **** came to the conclusion that we had contacted the "wrong company." As a former Bankers Life agent, I am aware that there are different divisions of the company that handle different types of products; I would not go as far as to deem them entirely separate companies. When **** shared this information with us, he had a very condescending tone. As I questioned a possible survey to leave my feedback on the call or a supervisor with whom I could speak to share this feedback, **** snapped that there is no such forum. He inquired why I was interested in leaving feedback; when I responded that I did not appreciate his tone, he claimed he did not have a tone and then hung up on us.This is completely unnecessary and unacceptable behavior from someone who is working in customer service. If **** cannot provide information without speaking down to people and insulting our intelligence, then perhaps he should consider a different line of work. I hate that I do not have more specific information to provide regarding the agent to whom I am referring, but I wanted to make sure that this experience is documented.
