I recently FINALLY got approved to buy a house back in February. My credit was run and it was good almost 700. No late fees were on it. Beginning of May we found a house and put an offer on it and it was accepted. I went to credit karma to move some money over to pay for ******* money and noticed my credit score had significantly dropped almost 100 points. I immediately called my lender and we did another hard pull just to see what was going on and now I suddenly have late payments all the way back to December. I called Scott Credit Union and apparently I had somehow missed a payment in April 2023 and behind only $86.00 that i had no clue of because it was not on my credit report in February. In fact im not even sure when it was put on there between Feburary and May. Now my credit scores are down to 560. So guess what I had to do was cancel our contract on our dream home. Also when I called I paid up but they still will not help me out AT ALL!!! This company is straight garbage and will NEVER do business with them again and I recommend everyone else does the same. My lender also agrees that something is wrong with this place.

Upon review, we have been trying to reach you by letter, email, and phone since February.  The information we have on file does not match the contact information you have provided in this submission to the BBB.  As of today, your account is current.  Please contact us to update your address, phone, and email and one of our associates will be happy to work with you to let you know what needs to be done to stay current on the automobile loan.

I have reviewed the business' response and am rejecting it because I called back in December or Janurary but could not reach anyone.  I left my number then and still no one called back.  I called because I could not login to pay.  I eventually figured out a way I could log in because the app decided not to work anymore.  You stated that you tried contacting me in Feburary, did you not try in December or Janurary when I was late then?  All I want is these late marks excused off of my credit report for all three credit bureau's.  And I already called and updated my information or at least it was suppose to be updated when I found out I was late.

      Sincerely,

      **** ******

Scott Credit Union did a update to their phone app in January and when they did they took out transactions 2x one in January and then again in February and refuse to refund the money that they caused my account to go into the negative to where I am struggling to pay my bills due to the fact I had to pay the negative balance and feel this is unfair and unruly by the Credit Union.

      Business Response

Upon review of your account, we see you had 2 posting to your account on February 4, 2025, in the amount of $176.21 for purchases made between January 17, 2025, and January 20, 2025. Then a second posting on February 19, 2025, for purchases made between January 17, 2025, and January *******, in the amount of $1,219.48. The delay stems from a power outage at our card processing vendor. Some transactions did not post to Scott Credit Union until they were pushed to us on these dates.

The purchases you made in January are valid purchases and did not clear your account until the February dates. We regret you experienced this event; I would like to apologize for any inconvenience you may have incurred.  No fees have been posted to your account for insufficient funds. Once you can review your statements you will see purchases posted to your account only once.

I have reviewed the business' response and am rejecting it because:

Your faulty system put us in the hole to where we fell behind on bills to pay the insufficient funds your system has caused.

On January 21, 2025 I received a text notice of tickets purchased through ********. I immediately checked my account and my account had been compromised. I called Scott Credit Union immediately to cancel my debit card. The next day I went into Scott Credit Union to get a new card and to see about disputing the charges. There were a multitude of charges from Stub Hub that were attempted, but only 2 went through. I was told that I could not dispute the charges until they went from pending to posted. At the exact same time frame, Scott Credit Union had an issue with their card processor going down so pending charges on accounts just fell off. When the card processor was fixed at the beginning of February charges started to post. The 2 fraud charges that had gone through from ******** were posted to my account on 2/4/25. I immediately contacted Scott Credit Union. After an excessive wait time, I was directed to call a specific fraud department for Scott Credit Union at a different number. I called that number and filed the fraud claims. I received a notice on 2/5/25 that the transactions were found to be fraud. After a week of not seeing a credit on my account from ********************** I called the fraud department. I was told Scott Credit Union had 10 days (not business days) to deposit the money. I am now sitting here over a month later with no credit to my account for the over $400 in charges. I have made multiple call, even used ***'s chat feature, all to be sent back and forth from the fraud department telling me this is a card coordinators (Scott Credit Union) issue to Scott Credit Union telling me it's the fraud departments issue. After another call to both departments today (3/5/25) to get the issue resolved and each one pushing blame to the other I decided it was time to file a complaint.

The delay stems from a power outage at our card processing vendor. Some transactions did not post to Scott Credit Union until they were pushed to us on February 19, 2025. This includes the Stub Hub transactions you disputed.  We regret you experienced this event, and I would like to apologize for any inconvenience you have incurred. I confirmed the amount of $446.76 was posted to your account.

I have been with Scott credit union for 14 years. I am very upset because apparently there was an outage in the card/ transaction department. I monitor my bills and what goes in and comes out of my account faithfully. Since January, my account has been in the negative. Scott Credit Union has failed in communications with their customers about the glitch/outage. I have been charge double for my bill payments, leaving my in a finacial burden. I get direct deposit and it is being taking as I get paid to take care of the negative balance leaving me with 0. I am frustrated because we are in hard times. Poor communication from Scott. I went to the branch , and I was told I did nothing wrong it is on Scott Credit Union end, and nothing they can do about it. I need my money back to get back on track. That's what they can do.

This is the second time that random trasncations from WEEKS ago have popped into my account, and has shoved me into the negatives. My family has been banking with SCU for 20+ and we have NEVER had a problem like this until they "needed" to update an app that WAS NOT BROKEN THE FIRST PLACE. I do not see the need to update an app that had no probems, but cant even get customers a tap to pay card.....FIX THE REAL ISSUES PLEASE. This genuinley hurts my soul, because like the rest of the world I am a college student who is living beyond pay check to check, and this company has just added a whole new level of stress because they can get their ducks in a row to save their lives. *** DONT FIX THINGS THAT ARENT BROKEN. again I have NEVER had this problem until you all did this.

I have had multiple transactions that they said were "delayed" but they ended up taking them out more than once and drained all of my savings account and left my checking account with a negative 156 dollar balance. I have no money to my name to support me and my son now. I just need my money back.

We have received multiple overcharges almost weeks sometimes months after we paid it because of their 'system being down'. They are taking advantage of customers. Their app doesn't consistently work. I haven't used my card in almost a month and I was still charged for payments that were already paid. As soon as this issue is resolved I'm leaving the bank. I've provided countless others that have also claimed the same issue.

I am under financial distress due to the fact of an outage for the card processor and was never notified till 3 or so weeks later as well over $600 in back processed amounts but I remember seeing the money come out of my account and show the money left. They have offered no compensation for the issues they have created yet have been told that they are offering loans to help with the financial burden but to me that seems fraudulent

Im filing a complaint on Scott Credit Union for their disservice to me and many other customers. It seemed at the beginning of February, they rolled out a new banking system within the mobile app which caused major delays in processing payments and pending charges. My account was overdrafted from a charge on Jan. 19, 2024 which did not post until the beginning of February. Today, Feb. 19, 2024, *** had 3 payments post of over $100 from Jan. 22, 2024. This has caused my account to almost be negative again. These payments were to retailers which have surely processed the payments on their end. Ive tried calling multiple times and using the online help feature with no response. I intend to switch banks after being a loyal customer to them for almost *************************************************** financially during this hard economic time.

I have an auto loan with Scott credit union. My payments are automatically withdrawn from my checking account. I have never been late or missed a payment. I have full coverage insurance on the vehicle and the insurance has never lapsed and is always up to date. Scott credit union called me 2/5/25 stating my insurance policy lapsed and I owed them $375 for insurance they added. This insurance was added without contacting me first to verify i had insurance. I told them I had insurance and would have my agent send proof. My insurance company immediately provided them with proof of insurance on 2/06/25. On 2/18/25 i received a letter from Scott credit union stating my loan account was delinquent and that I owed them $375. They also stated that they reported my loan as delinquent to the credit reporting agencies on 2/10/25 causing damage to my credit. Scott credit union needs to fix the false delinquent loan notice to the credit agencies and remove the incorrect insurance debt of $375.
