Northshore university healthcare billing department is awful. I've been trying to resolve a claim for over 5 months that was billed incorrectly.I don't even think you talk to a billing person just some customer service rep who is clueless. I just keep getting the run a round from all involved. My insurance company has also tried to contact them and cannot get through. I'm now getting collection notices. They don't seem to want to help just take the easy way out and harass me until I pay a bill that I don't owe.

My review is no stars, there awful especially with billing, to pay my bill I needed to know exactly what I owed, they made it a horrible experience, everytime I spoke with somebody (4 times) be it at the Hospital or on the phone they gave me a different amount and even after I paid a portion of the bill two weeks later I had the same amount due (and I have documentation to prove this), it could be just computers not updating timely I don't know but it (feels) scammy and I didn't and don't appreciate having to deal with what I see as disfunction, ridiculous!! and I'm already sick, now I'm sick of them, for me, there not part of the solution, they're part of the problem and that's not acceptable, that said, on a positive not the (people/department) that did my ekg was very good, and I told the Hospital that, but this billing mess turned me off this Hospital and has ruined there credibility with me.

Northshore University ****** Systems used to be a great facility. The phone customer service should not take more than 10 min to make an apt, however here it takes more than 20 min. Why?? I work in healthcare myself and never would I keep a patient on hold for almost 20 min to make a simple appointment. C'mon Northshore you gotta do better. You're going to lose a lot of patients this way.ST

went to the emergency room on august 17, 2023 Walked into emergency room at 4:30 pm not that many people were waiting (roughly 7 people or less) 2.5 hours of waiting and the waiting room was empty except me. i asked when i will be seen they said it goes based off the severeness. waiting rooms gets full again and after waiting 5 hours and complaining, one of the nurses comes out and says I wont be seen for another 3 hours. This is outrageous and not an emergency room. To have someone wait over 8 hours to be seen makes no sense. You will never be seen because they favor people who are coming in from an ambulance. that process will never end and they will keep you at the bottom of the list waiting. I witnessed over 8 people walk out because they were tired of waiting. They claim they have 17 rooms inside, but where are the doctors and nurses? This place is a huge fraud. You legit have to be dying (meaning heart attack or physically bleeding to be taken serious here)

The worst treatment by a discriminatory out of touch, arrogant, ignorant, Northshore physician. The Pharma who facilitated with my client was stunned by the bioethics breach by this doctor, who was talked about by two other patients in the parking lot, after my exit and returning my vehicle. We swapped egregious ethical breaches with this doctor, and another doctor at this practice. Stay away from Northshore University Health System on *************.

Northshore Hospital System is horrible. The staff are consistently rude and uncaring to your face. They pretend not to see you waiting in line so they can openly play games on their computers longer. Then when they deign to talk to you, they act as if they are some kind of kings, guarding the castle, as opposed to office staff who are there for customer assistance. I've been getting my labs drawn at one of their offices for years and this is how the front desk staff acts every time. In addition, they used to have a very wonderful, pleasant lab tech drawing blood. She clearly didn't fit in with the right attitude (way too nice and competent) so I saw they have now replaced her with a lab tech much more in line with the office values - he was short-tempered, rude, unpleasant, and even though I have great veins, he managed to go right through it with the needle, leaving me with a large bruise that lasted for days.

Immediate care. Terrible treatment. Wrong prescription, caught by pharmacist.. uncredentialed staff posing as doctors. Terrible customer service, even to fix a mistake. Cost cutting bureaucracy undercuts patient access to fix a problem.

NorthShore had gone down hill since pairing with Swedish! I have been with NorthShore since I was a child over 20 years. I have never been treated so poorly by this medical facility workers. The doctors used to treat you like family. The front desk and nurses always made you feel like you mattered. Now they can give a shit. They see a mom with 4 kids rushing to two different appointments at different locations asking questions and trying to be efficient to make the most of her time and they don’t help give her correct info. Phone staff have no clue what they are telling you. You get to the location they say complete opposite or barely answer and then the nurse doesn’t explain options bc the staff book appointments wrong so now my insurance doesn’t cover a test simple test that I was told we could have. Left in tears with a sick kid after being at the the same facility twice no correct info given then they try to make me pay out of picket or tell me to come again tomorrow. 4 appointments in 1.5 days. Get your act together it’s unlawful not informing people of their rights especially when they are asking you these questions and your staff give wrong info and little children get refused unless they’re parents can afford it. Disgusting and shameful I am so disappointed in NorthShore! A place I truly loved going now dread! My kids primary doc and the specialist we have seen for years now are the only reason I stay bc I trust them but everyone else I have encountered lately rude, short and unfriendly at check in or when trying to figure out how to book services. I will never recommend anyone to NorthShore again. I will also be looking else where which angers me bc I love my kids doctors but urgent care, Swedish affiliations, billing, phone service and front desk and the managers who get to end their day at 5 while a mother has to come to your facility 3 times is wrong. We need to start doing better not ok

Service in the ** is abysmal. Despite an empty waiting room and only a couple of occupied room, the wait times were ridiculous. I went in for a kidney stone. It was 30 minutes before my vitals were taken. Another 30 minutes waiting for the nurse set up my IV. Another 30 minutes before morphine was administered, despite my warning about the ineffectiveness of morphine in my family. By the time I was taken for a pelvic scan, I felt the stone descend into my bladder. No precautionary antibiotics were prescribed, and I was told there was no stone and released, despite the discomfort I was still telling. Three days later I passed a 3 ***************. So, not only was the service bad. The attending and radiologist were.both incompetent.
