Signed with Great Roofing for replacement of our primary Residence roof. We are Sr. ********* The bid from them was a few thousand higher then others, but he said he went to school with our daughter and we have heard of them. Bid was highest from all other licensed and bonded roofers. $29,961. 96 for a new roof! Then I believe a UDAP (Unfair, Deceptive, Acts and Practices) federal law regulation violation occurred! like a major bait and switch with confusing answer or an possibly an outright lie. I mentioned the " * " on the last handwritten item on the quote, regarding scope comment. **** ****** (Co Owner) stated that is if the any measurement like allowable tile waste calculation in quote. But would be is usually a small number. Well, we are being taken, since they then submitted to the insurance company wanting an EXTRA 30k approx, over the already high quote of 29.9k. The insurance company went nuts. Said obviously no way. This home (all bids show) replacement should be in mid 20's. Not be over 58K!! Great roofing then steered us to a company that would start basically a lawsuit or case that pits me and the roofer against the insurance company! Then was steered to an **** that I paid both thousands. Told roofer this is this case truly not mine. They then paid half the **** **** They said they were 100% sure that they would win the case. They did not. I had to pay ***** to finish the work they were having a sub quote contractor issue and have the case they wanted move ahead. Since at impasse. Due to my roofers unbelievable high quote rejected by my ************* ***** quote from that partner of theirs, also I found out by calling the trade association that represented sub contractors roll. . More Yikes! This case in court they steered me in...was called in the insurance world an "appraisal". But you do hire an **** and a judge reviews both sides information. I only received a call ~ lost. Never even got a copy of the courts findings!

We were working with this client on negotiating their insurance claim. *** ****** was also trying to sell his house at the time. He refused to allow the appraisal process to progress and take its natural course. While going through appraisal, he accepted an offer on his home and had hard close date. He demanded a hard number for the waiver of lien which we provided to him and his attorney (Bruggerman and *****). *** ****** still owes $23,230.07, some of which was provided by the insurance company some of which was a necessary out of pocket expense. *** ****** took the check that was meant for the claim and then deposited it into his personal account and stated we still owe him more because he had to pay out of pocket for an EIFS subcontractor, which was required for the job to be done compliant to the 2018 IRC.

We asked the ******* to be patient through the process because once a claim goes to appraisal, the timeline is out of our control. Mr ****** became impatient and pushed for this to go to a court appointed umpire. Never once was *** ****** mislead, he was informed at the beginning of the process that during any insurance claim things come up in the build that have to be supplemented with the insurance company and if the insurance company does not cover the REASONABLE AND NECESSARY items to replace the roof and build it to code, that the client would owe those funds.

This client in fact owes us quite a large sum, not the other way around.
