Last May the metal roof on the barn Was hail damaged and needed to be replaced *********** came out and quoted the job in ***************** check was Sent to my mom. She was contacted by *********** that she would have to give him that as a down payment They were contacted 4 times before November to find out when the job will be done. He contacted her back one time to tell her he was on vacation I contacted *********** to find out why the job was not done. I was told long led time, vendor ordered the wrong color all kinds of problems. After that it was about 2 weeks,2 men came It took them about 2 days to do the job.My mom is 89 years old and unable to walk out and check the job. When I was in town I checked the job it was not installed properly. I called **************** to see if it was inspected. No permit was taken. The inspector came to inspect and found it to be incorrect. That and *********** does not have roofing license or bond with the state of ********. ********* building turned them over to legal with fines. *********** never contacted my mom back It was suggested that I file a complaint with the state of Illinois for him working and advertising roofing without a license and bond.*********** sent my mom a invoice for the balance of $1,876.13. Also with a statement for her to sign stating the work was to her satisfaction. The metal on the roof has holes all over from missed screws. No flashing was used or roof cap. They just bent metal over and screwed it to the side walls. No seals were used to keep insects, and snow from blowing under the roof Because they knew that she could not check the job her self I feel this is elder abuse. He would have been paid in full the day after they were done he put a finial invoice in the mail box. So he saw the job that was done. He did not go to the house to talk to her about the job and give her the invoice. The roof material is bad and the complete roof will need to be redone. Please contact me

The one year limit in this case has not been exceeded. The work was done in November.
The insurance claims and quote started in May.
*********** made my mom pay $5800.00 before anything could be ordered. We tried to contact him from end of May to October to Find out when the work will be completed. He made no attempt to contact her until I got involved the middle of October.  He gave me a pile of excuses why no material was in hand or why there was no start date set.
I told him I wanted to be contacted when they will be on site, due to my mom not being able to go check on things due to her mobility.
Here are the list of items that we feel are a concerning:
    1. *********** advertising roofing, and does not have a state license or bond to do roofing. Found out in November.
    2. No permits or inspections were done. ************* Came and inspected the job and found *********** had no permits that were required. The inspection failed. He has no state license or bond. They turned him over to legal,  to be fined. In December.
    3. The roof because of bad installation and not using proper flashing has holes in it and is flapping and coming apart.
    4. *********** has not contacted my mom to correct the job, but sending her a invoice for $1700.00. It has a statement for her to sign stating the roof was installed to her satisfaction.??
    5. Elder abuse *********** knew her mobility limits and has taken advantage of them. The roof installed in November is not to her satisfaction.  He goes to her house to put invoices in her mail box but will not talk to her or inspect the job to see how bad it was. She has paid for a roof that will need to be replaced due to the metal having holes and cut wrong. She is having alot of anxiety wondering if he will do something to her, or *** her for the invoice he has given her.
The day of the installation he did not let her know the work was beginning done 2 men just showed up and started taking the old roof off.

The work was done in November.  At that time a lot of the problems began due to the list above. Any warranty would start from the installation date.
The photos a just some of the main problems. The fact the inspection failed from *************
I don't understand how he could advertise being a roofer without a license and bond. I filed with the state of Illinois as instructed by ********* co.
This company must have a history and should not be allowed to be in business.
    My phone number is ************.
    Thank you
