My car was stolen and held hostage until I pay ****** by S&S Towing stating that it was towed for not displaying a current ******************* Sticker which I bought and have a receipt on June 28th 2023. The Sticker is set to be put on the car July 1st when the date is due for the sticker. I contacted the ******************* spoke with ***** at ************ who advised me the Village does not tow cars for this reason and definitely not from Private Property. The village only issues tickets and on public streets. S&S claim an agreement with the building HOA which is still illegal and they should have known this prior to stealing cars.Initial Complaint

I was towed from a property that I live at for parking in a spot with my apartment number on it. Apparently, the landlord gave two people the same apartment number so me being towed is not my issue with this company. My issue is they have a hustle going on at this company where they don't give you change. There's no telling how much they many additionally from this hustled money. I was towed on May 11, 2023 from a property that I live at. I came and picked my car up on May 12, 2023. Before I came and picked the car up, I called S&S towing twice to ask about the cost to get my vehicle and procedure. They made it seem liked they preferred cash for payment. Even when I got to the place, it had an atm outside of the gate. They want cash. My tow fee was about $263 and change. I brought $280 because not once did they mention on the phone that I needed to bring exact change. Further more, I seen other negative reviews about my same issue from their other customers complaining about the same thing I am now on ****** reviews. I took the bus to this place and got a little loss, so I passed their place of business already. all I say were factories, other lots, and mechanic businesses. When I was ready to pay the fee, that's when they said they don't give change and that there was a business 2 blocks away that I could go get change. I have no car, I not walking anymore to get change. if exact change was what they required they should have mentioned it over the phone They clearly like doing business in cash so I have no idea what would be preventing them to make change. I have to concluded that they are intentionally hustling people. I want my change. I also want them to stop this hustle and make people aware of the "exact change" policy when they call, or make change for the customer. I did my research, I will be contacting 3 more agencies about this hustle that you all are running.Initial Complaint

3/23/2023 The vehicle I own and written apart of Leasing agreement since 12/2020 was parked legally on private property. The parking permit issued per * management include the * management permit parking sticker and S & S towing decal sticker also displayed. My car was towed unlawfully as stickers were 100% visible. *nce, I contacted S&S and told them the sticker was in the window, my words were immediately dismissed over the phone and the rude operator(#****) said "you have to pay the $218.50 if you want your vehicle back." When asked to speak with a manager, he replied "there isn't one". *nce arriving at the tow yard, the operator still insisted the pass was not in the window, again I reassured him, I have no tinting on the front window, therefore, the sticker is visible. He continued to reiterate, they don't keep records of what cars they tow. Prior to arriving to the tow yard, ***** from my leasing office instructed, I open my car door and/or point out the sticker in the window *nce I made it to the tow yard and have them release it without payment as I have both parking permits. Ultimately, the operator and tow guy rejected what ********************* advised and made me pay the $218.50 but do not accept Discover which wasn't relayed to me prior to retrieving the vehicle. My car was also damaged on the bottom panel due to an untrained towing guy.4/2/23 around 4:00a.m my car again parked legally in my assigned parking spot with both permit parking tags displayed was almost unlawfully towed. I noticed a shadow at my vehicle and thought someone was stealing it as I have a ******* Elantra. I began to panic, grabbed a jacket, and immediately ran outside and noticed the same company were unlawfully towing my car. I asked the guy why and he insisted my parking pass was the wrong color. I insured him, the same pass was given to me the day I signed my lease 12/1/20 with no expiration date. I informed him the police would be contacted as the company is a SCAM!Initial Complaint

This event happened on November 23rd 2022. I paid the business $218.50. They provided my vehicle with an inaccurate tow due to them discriminating against me for my weight. I was lost and they towed my vehicle with no facts behind them. The nature of my dispute is that this business was following me a towed my vehicle on no grounds to stand on. They did not resolve my issue by refunding me my tow. I filed a complaint to The ******** ******************* and they did not resolve my claim which is ridiculous. I have my tow invoice and I think it is unprofessional that the state is refusing to handle this claim appropriately.Initial Complaint

I went into Target in ********, ** to return something. I was in there less than 5 minutes. When I came out S&S towing had towed my car. I was going to do some shopping as there are a number of stores in the immediate area where that lot is legal to park for. They dont give you a chance to see if you're shopping at the other stores which would make parking legal. S&S towing is scamming people. Before you go into Target check the ******** parking lot to make sure they're not hiding there.Initial Complaint

On Monday, October 24th 2022 my 2013 ***** Equinox was towed at approx. 10:30pm CST on the corner of Harlem and Lake. When called to question why the vehicle was towed, S&S Towing stated it was due to violating a rule of no parking overnight. Careful attention was paid to the signage of the parking lot, and no where did it indicate this as a rule. Even if it were a valid rule, how can parking there past 10pm count as overnight parking when the store remains open until midnight? In calling the company the employee refused to connect me with or provide a way to contact a manager. The vehicle was in their possession for less than two hours when I payed a fine of $218.50 to retrieve it. When contacted again on Tuesday, October 25th during normal business hours (though the company is open 24/7) there was still np manager or employee with any superior knowledge about the company present and was given no way to contact them.Initial Complaint

On Friday, October 21 my cousins fianc called and told the towing company my cars color, make, model, and license plate number and that I would be staying the weekend in their apartment buildings visitor lot. This is exactly what it tells them to do in their apartments lease contract. The tow company only marked that I was staying for one night in their visitor lot because the meaning of the word weekend can be up for interpretation since we didnt clearly state the number of days. They blamed it on having new employees and they cant be at fault because they are new. We paid the $218.50 in cash ($219) and realized after we left he never gave back my change. We are contacting their apartment management office tomorrow morning, October 24th and seeing if they are able to get the refund for us. If they are not we will be filing a small claims suit against the apartment complex for a breach of contract and against the towing company.
