Earlier this year I called Hagel Claims asking to cancel my open claim and send me the check that my insurance confirmed was issued and accepted by them. The guy informed me of a 10% fee that would come out and was rather condescending about the fact that I wanted to cancel the claim that was opened in the last half of 2023. I was tired of waiting to see if my insurance company (********) could be overturned for a 100% coverage and based on what I saw of my own roof, I logically knew there was no way, especially with how long it had drug on already with no communication from anyone.
Finally, in the phone call with the guy at Hagel Claims, he said he would mail me a check for what the insurance sent, minus the 10% fee. That check still has not come and I frankly want to resolve this with out listening to that guy talk to me the way he did. I would like for the check to *actually* be sent to my home address.

Hagel Claims was hired to complete repairs to my home after a hail storm. the work was only partially completed. The office, the owner and construction division were all contacted in hopes of getting the remaining repairs completed with no response. My representative from the insurance agency also contacted all 3 with no response from anyone. There are still multiple pieces of the claim repairs that are to be done.

He had a crew replace my roof at the end of July of this year and the crew had to come back the next day after they said they completed the job because the shingles were loose. He stated that the shingles would settle down after a few days. I took pictures of the roof and I sent those pictures to ***** ** with Hagel Claims. I talked with him on 09/29/2023 and he would get with his territory rep and come and look at the roof after. He has not gotten back with me. I sent a certified letter outlining the issues I am having. and I would be taking action within three weeks if would not get back with me concerning these issues. He has not gotten back to be as of yet. He acknowledged he received the pictures, it was a botched job down on my roof. I would like for them to come back and fix the roof the correct way.

In August 2022, ****** ***** of *** ************ ******** knocked on my door with a presentation of selecting them for my roof claim. He had documents & pamphlets all about them. Hagel Claims was then introduced as the public adjuster to work with my insurance company to get my roof claim completed. Please read on..they never did the work, they were terminated on 6/20 & Hagel Claims received money & cashed checks fraudulently & never returned the money to me or to ********.

Prior to the termination letter & before any potential work was done, in March, ******** sent Hagel Claims a two party check payable to Hagel Claims & ***** * ************** * ********. On 4/25/2023, Hagel Claims cashed the two party check for $19,780.97 without my signature or authorization and without my knowledge. This alone is fraudulent & criminal. They also cashed a "Pre-Bill" payment from me for $194.47 in May. Everything came to a screeching halt on June 9, in a phone call with ***** **********, owner of all three: *** ************, Hagel Claims & ******* ***********...as I soon learned afterwards. He communicated that ******* *********** would be replacing my roof (not *** ************). I had never heard of that company & I asked for references. He was indignant & said it would take several days to get my those together.....I never heard from him ever again after 6/9. Today is 9/26.

Termination letter from me to Hagel Claims, return receipt requested, was received by them on 6/20, stating Hagel Claims did not provide the references requested & did not provide at least two roofing companies to choose from (as stated within item #4 of the contract ) In that letter, I asked for them to return the $19,780.97 check to ******** (I did not know they had fraudulently cashed it) and to refund $194.47 pre-payment to me. Hagel Claims did not respond in any way. The checks have not been returned as of today 9/26/2023. This is fraudulent & even criminal.

Hagel claims LLC came to our door asking to repair our hail damaged roof. We entered in to contract on 5/8/23. They didn't do any work till today. But they submitted final invoice to ***** **** insurance (our carrier) with out our knowledge & got check issued. We stopped payment on it. ***** **** tells us that they cannot allow payment to other company to do the work.

    Business Response

No adjuster or representative of Hagel Claims came to the door soliciting hail damage repair. One of our many preferred contractors came to your door to give you notice that they would be flying a drone in the neighborhood and that they are required to make you aware of such activities per the laws and guidelines set forth by the FAA. You entered into a contract with them on 5/8/23 and then decided to hire our firm to represent you as a public adjuster. The firm of Hagel Claims does not preform any construction work and never made any repairs to your property. Part of the services of a public adjuster is to close the claim, we asked ** to release the recoverable depreciation per the contract you had with your contractor. You obviously don’t understand that the duty of a public adjuster is to act as a proxy on your behalf, meaning that all correspondence comes through our office. Any and all checks issued by ** for the claim would and did come to your address as you have the policy with them. Hagel claims was hired to represent you in the storm related claim and did exactly that. We inspected the property, prepared a scope of repairs, took photos of all the damage, negotiated the settlement with ** and sent you good faith estimates. We have not been paid for any of our services as you have elected to fire our preferred contractor which has also done no repair work on your property because you wouldn’t let them. Canceling the contract with our firm isn’t an option as we have already done all the work to get you a full approval from **. You only want to cancel because your neighbor told you he used some company that didn’t require him to pay his deductible which is against the law. This is the craziest complaint I have ever seen and truly wish that we could write a complaint about you, warning every contractor in America to stay as far away from you as possible and never work for you as you disregard the obligations that you enter into.

    Customer Answer

*** & Hagel are one & the same construction & adjustment company. That is how it was presented to us. Now we realize *** is a ghost entity, after Hagel sent a guy from Mississippi (in place of ***) to work on our roof. which we declined. Hagel is the scammer who sent their people to knock on the door after hail damage. Why do I need an adjuster for roof repair. I stand by my earlier statement with the documents.
