Im devastated. My fianc and I paid Small Cake Photography in full in 2022 for our wedding in 2024.Tonight we tried getting in contact with this company, because we need to postpone our wedding and needed to see what had to be done. Theres no way to reach this company. Weve been ripped off and we now realize nobody was going to be showing up the day of our wedding. Very sad but also very infuriating.Initial Complaint

On August 11th 2022, I purchased a photography package for my wedding on September 9th, 2023 at the amount of $1595. I was told I can cancel this at any time for a full refund. I went to contact them on March 26th, 2023 regarding the engagement shoot that came with the package (to cancel this in exchange for credit) and received no response via email. I then read online that this was suspected to be a fraudulent company. I attempted to contact them again via phone and it went straight to busy signal. My credit card company offered me another phone number, which also went to busy signal. I emailed again to cancel my package entirely with so response to this day. Despite all this, my credit card company was unable to issue me a return of the charge. I would like a refund for this fraudulent agreement.Initial Complaint

Wedding Photographer and Videographer Scam. Purchased a Photography and Videography package with the company on July 1st 2022 for $3,195. I have a contract with them that states I could have a full refund at anytime. I was in communications with the company in July of last year but since then it had been radio silent. The phone numbers I have don't work and the website links I have I'm no longer able to access. I have 2 phone numbers that I was able to get to work. 1 for a former worker ***************************** ************ and 1 for a ***** (I could not get her last name) at ************ but when I called I did not get an answer. They do not respond to any emails. I can still access the digital version of my contract and I have a physical copy that I printed.Initial Complaint

After great reviews and conversations about the company and services, we paid in full in July 2022 for a April 2023 wedding. This communication was from a **************** started following up in September for setting up an engagement session. The phone numbers were no longer working and I did not receive a email follow up until early November from a ****** asking for basic details to set up the session. After following up multiple times, no additional responses have been made. I have also tried communicating by setting up additional online appointments and online chat features, all with no response. My partner and I are requesting a refund for our booked wedding on January 15th, 2023. We paid $1,699 on January 27th, 2022 for Petit Four Films (now Small Cake Photography LLC) to film our wedding with the video package below and were notified we would not be receiving the service due to their supposed bankruptcy and would be receiving a refund. I paid $1845 USD to Small Cake Photography in August 2022 for my May **** wedding. There was a miscommunication about my contract (they quoted me in dollars but failed to mention that it was USD, even though they were aware that I was CAD) and I did a deeper dive into the company. Since I could only find a very small amount of information, I became concerned with the businesses legitimacy. I spoke with a man who said his name is *********************** and asked for assurance about the company, the refund policy, and for indication of the company's legitimacy (link on BBB or something else). ***** assured me of the cancelation and refund policy and said he would provide a BBB profile link. When I tried following up regarding the BBB profile, ***** then said that they did not have one because the business is new. ***** did also acknowledge the company was rebranding from Petit Four Films. For some reason, I couldn't find either company here on BBB. However when I look at BBBs investigation dates, this was during the time that they were under investigation. After reading more information about Small Cake Photography in the news, I have requested a refund as per their policy. I have not had responses via email and two of their phone numbers are disconnected. I was able to reach the man who says he is ***** via whatsapp and he advised a refund would be provided but has not responded since, or given any confirmation numbers or information with who to follow up with about the refund (he says he does not handle refunds). After reading reviews extensively stating that this company has not provided refunds, I'm extremely concerned. I feel that I need BBBs support to motivate them to provide a refund because I have no faith that they will do so on their own.Initial Complaint

July 29, 2022: I learned about Small Cake Photography from TheKnot. I came highly recommended with a very good amount of positive reviews. I reached out to set up a consultation via their website. They were highly professional and responsive and set up a time for us to have a phone call to go over information later that afternoon. I spoke with a guy named ***** who was very friendly and went through the different packages. I selected the silver package and since there was a special going on I decided to book that day to save the money. I received the contract, read through it and everything seemed to be pretty straight forward... or so I thought. I have now not been able to get a hold of the company in months. As the wedding date is only weeks away (December 10) I started to panic since I had not heard from them. Their phoneline is disconnected and their website is no longer working. I relooked over the contract and realized there is absolutely no contact information other than a phone number. I was completely scammed out of almost $2,000. BRIDES BEWARE. THIS PLACE IS A SCAM I am also pretty upset with TheKnot for endorsing them... really shady.Initial Complaint

In July 2022 I paid $1995.00 for a wedding photographer and videographer for my November 13th wedding. They offered a free engagement shoot also. The engagement shoot occurred on August 15th, 2022. After receiving the photos, Small Cake went silent. I received an automated email asking for details about the wedding. Filled out the questionnaire and emailed back. November 2nd. All other email communication, or phone calls have gone unanswered. The two phone lines that initially worked at the beginning have been shut off. Texts to the main contact were sent on October 11th and November 5th. They were unanswered. November 8th I received a text from a new number listed out of **. This person named ******, promised to send over contact information for the photographer/videographer on November 10. I did not receive anything. On Friday November 11 my partner called the number and left a voicemail. No call back.Saturday November 12 (day before wedding) I text that number asking if we should look for another photographer. No response. My family ends up booking another photographer thinking we would be stood up. (There are many reviews online claiming Small Cake has stood up couples- including an ******** article). We paid another company $500 to show up last minute. November 13 I received a call from a CO number. At 230pm - an hour before my wedding began. This person said he was on his way to photograph the wedding (still no videographer). I already had my photographer and new videographer there and paid for. So I booked with Small cakes photography on 8/28/2022 for a October 2023 wedding. I found them on the knot but book through their website. I paid $3595 in full for the 10 hour gold package. It included 2 photographers, videography, engagement shoot, all raw footage, free cancellation with full refund and more. When I tried to book my engagement shoot, I no longer could find them on ******* They were no longer on the knot, ******** page was down, phone numbers were disconnected and emails all got kicked back. There was no other way to contact them. What I did find was a forum on wedding wire of other couples who where scammed. ****** learned.
