ARSC (a collection company), called me with a court threat, and sent an invoice to my residence to pay an unpaid balance. It stated that it was from my Citibank Classic card, dated 1/18/2023. Mind you, I currently have two citibank cards that are in good standing, and have never been late with payment. This company said that if I do not respond in a timely manner, the courts would make a judgement without me and it would reflect on my credit report as such. I never received any "official" court papers, I do not know whose account this is, and if this goes onto my credit report, I will try to take this entire company down! I have come too far, creditwise, to have my credentials compromised. They came out of the blue with an arrogance as well, and had the nerve to call a family member in search of me. I have never even heard of this company. I hope that this issue will properly be addressed.Business Response

Dear BBB,
We take complaints such as these very seriously and, in order to properly address his complaint, I thoroughly reviewed **************** file.I found no record of any calls ever placed to of received from **************** or any relative of his. Additionally, my audit shows that there is no employee access to the file. I am genuinely confused.
It is possible that **************** communicated with a different collection agency and may be mixing us up. It doesnt seem as though any employee ours spoke to him or his family members. I would like to help him in any I can, though, and invite him to contact me at ********************* if he requires any additional assistance.
Thank you,

I am rejecting this response because: I did speak with ********************* today and he did help me to understand the situation somewhat. He explained to me that his office did send the invoice out, but there was no record of his company calling me or my family member...it was another company. I would like to have written documentation, from ARSC, stating that this account is closed. At that point, I will be satisfied with the outcome. ************** was quite informative as well. Thank you.
Sincerely,

I just received a text from ************** stating that I had an outstanding debt and needed to contact ************** at my earliest convenience and needed to contact them about account ******. I found this very odd and suspicious because I am very cautious about my bills. As I had filed bankruptcy several years ago, so I am considerably aware of any owed debts. I called the number that the text provided and spoke to *****. I was very gruff as I know I don't owe any bills. I pay online and before the due dates. He proceeded to ask for my SSN and I flat out told him I wasn't giving him that information so he proceeded to give me, my last 4 digits. He asked if that was me and I was like yes. Now what is this for. He then proceeds to say that this is for a Spiegel credit card? I flat out stated this isn't valid --as I had filed bankruptcy. He stated he would remove this from the system however I am not believing that statement. Very shady business practice--even contacting about old debts out of SOL is shady. This business needs to be shut down.Business Response

I have requested the company provide me w/ a documents for the original lender, the orginal balance when Apple Recovery took over as well as a current blanace summary. I advised I would cancel the arrangment until I received this info. and "*****" told me he couldn't provide this info. so he would cancel the arrangement b/c I've "been paying all this time w/out questioning the amount" and he "wasn't playing games w/ me".....he never let me speak. Cont. to interrupt until i hung up when he said "i'm not playing games w/ you".Business Response
