My primary doctor referred me to this place for my chronic neck pain. I went in for an appointment on 11/11/2022 and this place felt like a scam. Both the front desk lady and the therapist I saw were EXTREMELY UNPROFESSIONAL for the following reasons:1. SECRETIVE ABOUT PRICING: Before the appointment started, I specifically asked for a quote for the whole treatment but the front desk lady said she had no clue and I would need to call some one else to get the pricing information. I was charged $500 after the first appointment but I was not provided with any bill explaining what that was for. 2. THERAPIST SHOWED ZERO BASIC MEDICAL KNOWLEDGE: During the appointment, the therapist first reviewed my medical history and referral and concluded that my prescription for CERVICAL CANCER SCREENING meant a CERVICAL SPINE X RAY and suggested me to go to orthopedics. 3. FRONT DESK,NOT THERAPIST, DECIDED MY TREATMENT FREQUENCY: after evaluating my condition, the therapist just couldn't make a decision on the frequency of my treatment using his PT training but had to ask the front desk lady, who had zero idea of my condition, to give a suggestion. 4. NECK PAIN BECAME WORSE AFTER FIRST APPOINTMENT: During the appointment, the therapist showed me two exercises that I can do at home and had me practice at the clinics. However, while I was practicing, he was almost looking at his laptop for the entire time instead of making sure that I was doing it correctly. After the practice, my neck pain got much worse and I had to use pain killers to relieve it. 5. CHARGED ME FOR FUTURE APPOINTMENTS THAT I CANCELLED: After my first appointment, I emailed them to cancel all my future appointments. However, they still charged my insurance company for the future appointments that they made before even evaluated my condition. And when they made the appointment, they told me that they were just putting down a couple place holders in case I need them.Business Response

I had 4 visits at Athletico, once a week from 9/07/22 to 9/28/22. I was prescribed therapy by an orthopedic surgeon. Since I was told my insurance covered only ***** I would have to pay $75.00 per visit. I agreed to one session a week and paid $75.00 at the time of each visit, totaling 300.00.I have received 3 more bills from Athletico saying I owe $***** more.We have called Oirbinsurance and they have paid Athletico their part. Each time we call Athletico agrees we do not owe the money, yet they continue to send out a bill for &*****.Business Response

We were there yesterday for *****'s 2nd appointment and things started off great, he was very happy to be there. The therapist started my son off on the bike for 10 minutes as he continued to work w/ other clients. The female worker then took him to the back table to do some knee exercises. She then left my 8 year old alone to finish the 30 sets. He is a child who is fresh out of his cast and had major surgery a month ago. We had not done anything w/ his knee since the cast was removed on 8-23-22 besides his homework of walking back and forth. He then started w/ Jayce as he worked w/ some red band that he was just prior left to do on his own. As I was trying to get my receipt (that the female worker did not know how to print) I looked and my son was crying. Before I saw him crying I witnessed the therapist get up rather quickly and he went to work w/ another young client and I saw that my son was in tears. I quickly went to the back to see why he was crying. I totally understand that there will be pain during this recovery process, I explained that to my son before starting. However I was not pleased at how the therapist pretty much ignored my son and showed no empathy to him being in pain. The female worker applied a vibrating strap of some sort to his knee (she didn't know what it did and had to ask the therapist). After that he stood up and did another movement for what seemed like 2 seconds and she was like he was done (AND she did not know how to properly put his brace back on). There was no final goodbye or are you ok from this Therapist who seemed to put all his attention on one teenage client. When we got in the car and home my son started crying again and told me that when the Therapist was using the band w/ him and lifting his leg to extended his injured knee up and down, on the final release he let down my son leg and got up, leaving his leg swinging which caused the pain and him crying. He spent less than 5 minutes w/ my son. **********Business Response

I am rejecting this response because: I have yet to receive my refund or a formal apology in writing from the offending physical therapist. Now I have to pay another therapist the same ** pay all over again to restart his program. He is too traumatized to go back to this facility and he is delayed 2 weeks in his rehabilitation for his injured knee.
Sincerely,
