Do go to them they will tell you that you're covered and then back out of it because they don't want to pay out money. Worst insurance company out there. And we looked around and found other insurance companies that are 1000 dollars less.Pekin Insurance

My husband had back and hip trouble and had to have surgery, this putting us at half of a paycheck, being on short term disability. My niece had recently become an insurance agent. she assured me that she could find better and cheaper home and car insurance for us to help us get by a bit easier, and she did! I was making my payments 3 weeks early and very happy to have a smaller payment. After being on this insurance for only 3 or 4 months, there was a huge storm and we had huge tree limbs down, one falling on the chicken coop, which is next to the garage. We were trying to clean things up. Not sure of the cause, but our garage started on fire in the middle of the night. We were devastated. This garage was our family hang out. We had all special occasions here, besides everyone gathering on Friday nights. Pool table, bar, music, and TV. We lost everything, both vehicles too. Pekin paid fair market value and we were ok with it until we got the letter canceling us. WHY do you cancel someone after paying them so much money to replace the damage? WHY would you not want to get some of this money back. Well after canceling us now we could only find one company to cover s for a ridiculous amount a month. My husband recently had a heart attack and again on short term disability check. I just think it's horrible how the insurance has the right to cancel you like this. We have insurance for protection and they get their money monthly, but one accident, and they can just throw you out. I just think it's sad..so wrong.Pekin Insurance

We have been a customer for 10 years with only 1 minor claim. I was happy with pekin, a little expensive but other than that pretty decent, until now you don't want to insure my manufactured home! I don't live in a place with bad weather for the most part. But to just drop me because of my home being a manufactured home wtf. Now I am really ****** off and would not recommend your service to my worst enemy!?? YOU need to fix the star system so I can leave you a negative star review.Pekin Insurance

Unfortunately, we made the difficult business decision to no longer offer this coverage. 1 starHad a commercial policy with this company for over 20 years. Every few years I would get a new agent , I was tired of training. New agents couldn’t even get a callback never had a claim. There is a theme in these reviews of undervaluing property claims. It appears borderline criminal, given the scope and gravity.
I am going through a similar experience, where it has taken over a month for the company to send an appraiser, who ultimately undervalued my motorcycle by thousands of dollars. Thankfully I kept all of my receipts, but the process is not finished.
It seems like a group file may be appropriate to provide relief to all of these individuals and many more who didn’t file reviews, for the amount of money that’s been wrongfully gained by Pekin Insurance, by intentionally undervaluing property when it benefits them financially.Pekin Insurance

After indicating you had made several aftermarket improvements to your bike, we offered to take another look at the evaluation. As you are aware, due to a technical problem we were unable to view the receipts and upgrade information you sent us originally, and asked that you resend them in a different format so we could review them in detail. Although modifications don’t always change the value of a vehicle, we are willing to review your submissions. This is plainly incorrect, I’ve provided receipts and documentation in multiple formats, which wouldn’t be necessary had the comparisons been accurate to begin with.
The motorcycle, even before modifications, was valued over $3,000 lower than market rate. A simple ****** search, will provide the results I’ve also provided via email.
An excellent condition (no rust), riding, 1974 Honda CL 360 is worth at least $4,200 but should be closer to $5,200. Instead you’ve asserted it’s worth $2,000.
Show me. Show me an excellent example of a black and orange 1974 Honda cl 360 with 12000 miles and no rust for $2,000.
Then there is this response, excusing the behavior on a non-issue.

ABSOLUTELY HORRIBLE! It’s been nearly 50 days and I’ve called over 20 times, left multiple voicemails and even tried emailing, and have yet to receive a response from my auto adjuster. I even called and left a voicemail for the his manager but he has not responded either. They just keep making excuses and doing whatever they can to delay the claims process.
I’ve never in my life seen such a large company act this unprofessional. I’ve already filed a complaint with the ** Dept of Insurance.
If I were you I’d avoid this company at all costs!!!Pekin Insurance

I wish I could do zero stars. This company is terrible. I had an accident in June which was my first accident in over 15 years ( only one other). And they paid the claim. However, 6 months later and after paying all premiums on time they dropped my coverage due to the accident. If you’re going to claim that the reason is the accident don’t sneakily collect premiums to further your business then drop the policy. Poor business practice. JR the adjuster assigned did not respond to me. Spent weeks waiting for a call or email back after filing the claim. The 2 times I was able to make contact with her she was dismissive and condescending. Just plain rude.
We waited 22 days just to get an ok for the restoration company to come out to my home for the massive leak. My claim and my bathroom are STILL not closed or completed because of the lack of care and response.
I’ve been dealing with this since the first of July. My husband was recently diagnosed with cancer and hasn’t had the privacy of a bedroom or bathroom with all the people coming in and out.
Being my first claim ever I wondered if this was simply just how it goes? I googled the task of an insurance claim adjuster.
Claims adjusters evaluate and settle insurance claims on behalf of insurance companies. Their responsibilities include investigating the claim, gathering evidence, determining the extent of the insurance company's liability, negotiating settlements, and communicating with all parties involved in the claims process.
I did all the foot work for my claim. The adjuster and Pekin did NOTHING. I had to jump through hoops to get my claim approved.
I understand that the adjuster works for the benefit of the insurance company. However, I pay the insurance company every month for their services in the event of an incident like we had. I was treated with Zero customer service. I’m basically living in a dumpster fire thanks to JR and Pekin.
To anyone on this thread you have rights! Check the state you live in. This is **.

I was abandoned with a vehicle that was deemed a total loss by an auto shop with no rental car or contact from pekin insurance for weeks. They eventually reached out to me, told me they were investigating if they were liable, and eventually came to the conclusion that they were liable for the damages.
It has now been 28 days since my car was damaged, and I am just now getting information on how to get a rental car. They are lowballing me on the valuation of my car and when I counter offered they essentially said accept our offer or file with your own insurance. Their valuation report had two other cars on the report. Just two comp cars and they weren’t even the same trim.
I hope that my experience is due to bad employees, and not a representation of how Pekin Insurance operates. I would appreciate help from somebody if it is possible. I have reached out to Pekin Insurance through emails, phone calls, messages on their website, etc and have mostly been ignored. I started getting responses when I mentioned consulting my attorney, but now they seem to have a grudge against me.Pekin Insurance
