on 7/2/2024 a company truck insured by Gallagher Bassett struck my vehicle. For over two months now I've been reaching out to the case manager + the supervisors and have received virtually ZERO response despite MULTIPLE promises to return phone calls. Additionally I've been in contact with the corporate team from Enterprise car rental who also has had little to NO COMMUNICATION from ***************************** of Gallagher Bassett either. On two separate occasions Gallagher has approved a rental car only to revoke payment to Enterprises a couple weeks later. Everything about Gallagher's business is disgraceful & I can't even believe they're still in business. The case manager has made multiple different excuses as to why they're denying the claim, only to have yet another reason the next time my lawyer or I reach out. Somebody above ***************************** needs to step in and figure out whats going on since hes clearly incapable of doing his job or even taking the time to return a phone call. After looking at previous reviews and complaints filed with the BBB about this company, this appears to be standard operating procedure for this company. I'll also be forwarding this complaint to the AG's office in hopes that somebody takes action against this shady company and their shady business practice.Business Response

I was involved in a car wreck vs. a coyote August 12th, 2024. I was seen in an Emergency Room on August 13th, and had a CT scan done then, that showed a bulging disc, and was taken off work until August 15th. I followed up on August 19th with my PCP and he confirmed the bulging or herniated disc, and put me on work restrictions pending an MRI. My MRI is scheduled on September 12th, 2024. I have been in contact with Gallagher Bassett along with my retained attorney. We have emailed them all they need, and they have yet to start benefits. I have been out of work for almost 3 weeks, and yet again, no avail when contacting anyone. I would like to know when I am able to receive benefits, and if you could get them beginning for me this week.Business Response

Gallagher Bassett and all involved have been tremendously horrible through the entire process. They handle a mutual client of ours, The Success Learning Academy. My team has made over ******************************************** this claim from staff adjusters to supervisors. Two people specifically have been non responsive and neglected this claim, **** *** and *********************************. My company OnPoint Roofing and Renovations has been owed $66,625.32 since July 5th for work we completed on a damaged property from the recent storms. My company operated ethically and efficiently from the beginning of this entire project. After numerous requests and almost 60 days of payment delay, we are taking matter further. This complaint is regarding the 100% unethical handling and unlawful response time through every step of the back end portion on this claim.Business Response

Once again I am struggling with this company. Although my attorneys office has called me, and notified me of a ***** in part for a medication, after an MDO review.. 6 weeks I have been waiting to pick up a medication and I was approved for a set amount with 3 refills. The pharmacist is repeatedly still getting a denial. Not only has the doctors office worked on this, but the pharmacist said this is like nothing he has ever seen. He was noticeably frustrated tonight. The prescription is written properly according to the decision, and my attorney notified me that this was approved. What more do you want from me? I was injured at work when a vactor truck hose burst and hit me 3 times the third time sent me flying 30 feet. I have several contusions and severe trauma to my leg preventing me from moving without crutches. Gallagher basset said they sent out checks but I have yet to receive them and the adjuster has stopped answering my calls. I wish I could just wait for them to figure it out but I'm broke, I've been evicted, I can't afford food and the injury prevents me from driving for rideshare services so I am literally at the end of the rope I have no idea how I'm going to survive and they don't seem to care much because I didn't lose a limb. The accident was a month ago so I want to give them more time but it's not my fault I got hurt..Business Response

Waste ********** truck snapped wires from telephone pole across the street. Wires snapped back hit the side of my house and broke a piece of siding. Working with *****************, ****** office. Keeps telling me hes investigating this happened a month ago. Sent fax with quote to repair, get the same answer still investigating. Not even asking for power washing for the scuff marks, just repair the one piece of siding. Terrible company to deal with.Business Response

Without BBB, I wouldn't be able to get to contact GB ever.

On 08/25/23 My vehicle was parked in front of my home. A Construction company broke a pipe which caused my entire street to flood. My vehicle, as well as other vehicles in my neighbor were flood. My car was a total loss. On October ******* I submitted a claim to the insurance company. On 10/24/23 I requested a claim acknowledgment letter the claim Rep *********************** stated, Im not sure what you are looking for. I found that statement odd every company sends out notices once a claim is filled. NJ requires carriers to issue a written notice of claim acknowledgment within 10 days of receiving the claim. I am requesting compensation for the money I lost due to the flood. Total amount requested is $16,467.24. Once she received my email, she asked, that I Forward documentation regarding the amounts you are requesting in interest and proof of your down payment for consideration. I then receive an email stating that I would only be compensated for the lojack and nothing else. She then gave the following statement She stated, Your deposit in the amount of $4,800.00 was applied to the cost of the vehicle and therefore, included in the settlement you reached with *****. I found that statement to be untrue ACV considers depreciation, ACV wont factor in any deposit made on the vehicle. I asked about filing an appeal and was advised there is no appeal process. I am filing this complaint as I feel my claim was not handled properly. *************************************************** was dismissive and non-compliant with state laws. The insurance companys refusal to provide an appeal process contradicts New Jersey law (NJSA 17:29E-9), which mandates that every insurer writing property and casualty, or life insurance must have an internal appeals procedure for the review of disputed claims. I respectfully request the BBB intervention to ensure that my rights as a consumer are upheld and that the insurance company adheres to the states legal requirements.Business Response

I am rejecting this response because: I am not satisfied with the settlement offer. Out of the $16,000 in damages they only want to reimburse me for $1090. which is unacceptable. I want to appeal the settle offer and was advised that they do not have an appeal process. Does the carrier have an appeal department? As discussed, we have agreed to pay the LoJack system cost. However, as explained the *** amount is due to the amount owed on the vehicle, which is more than the actual current cash value of the vehicle. The *** amount is not covered under the policy. I am rejecting this response because: I am out Thousands of dollars, and you want to offer me $1050.00. I want to file a legal appeal; How do i do that? As outlined in ********** law (NJSA 17:29E-9). The insurance companys refusal to provide an appeal process contradicts New Jersey law (NJSA 17:29E-9), which mandates that every insurer writing property and casualty or life insurance must have an internal appeals procedure for the review of disputed claims. I am not happy and feel that you have acted in bad faith. A bad faith insurance claim occurs when:
An insurer does not behave fairly or appropriately in processing a claim.
The insurance company acts intentionally or uses unlawful tactics during settlement negotiations.
The insurer fails to investigate a claim quickly or thoroughly.
The insurer unreasonably delays a payout or denies benefits to deserving claimants.You have done each action listed above. I have filed a complaint with the department of banking and insurance because this is unacceptable.

On 4/21/2024 an ***** semi struck the electrical pole between my house and my neighbors, ripping the electrical connections out of our houses. I was put in touch with *****, provided photos, and was routed to Gallagher Basset for resolution. While my neighbor was paid, I still have not been. The same electrician performed the work for both houses, and I am having issues in getting an answer on why I have not received the check so I can pay the electrician. I have sent dozens of emails, and tried calling several times. The latest email with Gallagher Basset resolution manager *********************** on 7/25 stated that the payment would be issued right away. I have yet to receive payment, or any response to follow up emails since that 7/25 email. I am just trying to get the electrician paid for work performed nearly 4 months ago.Business Response
