Went to seek a lender to get a cash advance on a medical lawsuit, oasis was quick to buy my loan from a previous lender, and when they said I was approved for 2,300$ I was only given 887$ them leaving out that the remaining of the ****$ was for the underwriting fee.. they have it printed with numbers; But not stating that part comes out as a part of the approval loan.. it only shows by numbers the contract / but not showing that part comes out of the loan.. so I was charged almost 1300$ for a 880$. Loan I told them in the first phone call they reached out to me that I dont want a loan for that amount, I was out on hold a was told I was approved for ****$ and that the **** would go into my bank.. after several calls the issue was not rectified.. very upset for them Not bieng clear at all in any way.. I understood what I seen with the numbers but it wasnt clear till after about the underwriter fee would come out as the a part of the loan.. the company I had before that they bought out my loan from preferred capital funding company they told me about their fee for their loan they were very upfront. And was helpful.. I have been deceived in what their truth lies behind their loan process.. I would like the amount I was approved for initially for the ****$ and that part not coming out as part of the underwriting process..Business Response

We are sorry that the total amount of the funding approved was less than the Complainant had hoped for. The Complainant's contract, which she acknowledges reviewing and "see[ing] the numbers," clearly discloses the fees applicable to her funding agreement and the amount that would be sent to her. Specifically, her Nonrecourse Purchase Agreement is preceded by a Consumer Disclosure document that lists the total purchase price, the amount of that purchase price that will be paid to her prior funding company, the Optional Handling Fee, the Underwriting Fee, and the resulting amount she would recieve from the funding, which depending on the method of disbursement she selected, would range from $887.37 to $1106.37. It is accurate that in a phone call to check on the status of her funding that a customer service representative mistakenly referred to the amount of the purchase price minus the portion that was to be paid to the prior funding company. Oasis regrets this error and will ensure that its customer services representatives are further trained so as to mitigate such mistakes in the future. Nonetheless, despite one errant comment, the contract Complainant received, reviewed and executed clearly described the amounts that would ultimately be paid to her.
To the extent that the Complainant was dissatisfied with the amount provided to her, her Nonrecourse Purchase Agreement includes a right of recission through which she had the option of returning the amount funded and cancelling her funding within 5 days of receiving the funding. Though this remedial option was available to her, the Complainant did not take advantage of this provision and did not rescind her agreement. Regardless, we hope that the funds that we were able to provide are helpful to the Complainant as they await settlement.

The consumer was approved for funding and a distribution of funds was attempted on June 30, 2023. Unfortunately, however, this distribution of funds was unsuccessful because the consumer provided an invalid account number. The consumer was contacted by Oasis and correct account information was submitted on that day, which was a Friday, but funds did not reach the consumer's account until the next business day, which was Monday, July 30, 2023. While we regret the delay, the delay was not due to Oasis's fault, but rather due to the incorrect information provided to Oasis and as a result of the close of banking business during the weekend.

Oasis took advantage of me during hard times. I was fighting a wrongful death case for my mother, during that time a pandemic happened and my son went missing. I needed some help with bills during this time. Oasis charged me ********* dollars in interest for a ****** loan Totaling 36,000 out of a 57,000 dollar settlement. I was literally left with pennies on the dollar after losing my mother and son. I took out loan to help with costs associated with looking for a missing child and feel like they're loan sharks that do not care and take advantage of vulnerable people. I could understand even paying double the amount of loan, but I was charged almost 300% interest.Business Response

My eldest child chief ******* went missing january 2021 ...while i was battling my mother's wrongful death case. I lost my mother and child within a year and half. I thought Oasis was there to help.. I was taken advantage of in a time of serious distress. They heartlessly took advantage of me during a hard time and took most of my settlement in the end.
I was loaned ****** they had taken over ****** of my settlement leaving me with ****** of a wrongful death settlement from my mother dying.

Since that response, Oasis has been in negotiations with the complainant's attorney regarding a reduction of her repayment amount. A new reduction offer was made by Oasis on May 12th, which the complainant accepted on May 22, 2023. Payment on complainant's account has been made and Oasis issued a partial refund due to an overpayment. In light of complainant's acceptance of our reduction offer and payment in satisfaction of her account, we believe this matter to be resolved.

We regret that ****************** has rejected our response. ****************** executed three Contingent Payment Agreements during 2021, and on page 1 of each of those agreement is a very clear disclosure of the Agreements' repayment terms. In this section, Oasis provides an explicit table of the amounts ****************** would owe in six month increments over the course of 3 years, after which her repayment amount was capped. ****************** reviewed these disclosures and acknowledged and agreed to these repayment terms by signing directly below the disclosures and certifying that she had "read and agree[d] to the statements above and the entire Contingent Payment Agreement," and "agree[d] to be bound by the terms and conditions of this Contingent Payment Agreement." Despite these disclosures, as noted in our prior response, we negotiated a reduction of ********************** repayment amount, which she accepted. Again, we regret that ****************** has rejected our response but in light of ********************** acceptance of our reduced repayment amount, we believe this matter to be resolved.Initial Complaint

March 10, 2023 I applied to Oasis financial for a loan in the amount of $5000. Text message said application was under review. I called March 13,2023. Rep said Application was probably denied. I said to cancel to avoid waiting. I called on March 14, 2023 to see why I was denied. Rep said to fill out new application and she would fast track its process. March 15, 2023 I received a text message to E-Sign. I did. Text message after E-sign was stating I was approved, and funds would be available in my bank by 4 pm cst. No funds that day. I called March 16, 2023 and the rep said that I needed to contact my bank. I contacted my bank. The rep at my bank told me that they had no control over that. I called Oasis back. Rep said to give it 24 hours. Friday March 17, 2023. No funds. I called my bank again to double check. She again told me there was no transactions and they had no control over that. I called Oasis. The rep again said it was my bank. I requested to speak to a supervisor. I asked the supervisor if the correct account numbers were given/received. The account numbers were correct. The purpose of asking for a loan from Oasis is because my back pain, from the hit and run I was involved in, is getting worse. I walk everywhere. My credit is bad. A woman was selling a vehicle and I wanted to buy it. I had told her what I was trying to do to get the money to purchase the vehicle. Because I kept telling her one day, then another day, she sold the vehicle to someone else. So, because of that, I told the rep to go ahead and cancel the application. She said ok. Later that day I called Oasis back to make sure that I would not be held accountable for any money to them from my settlement. The rep said that the cancel order was placed. Today March 20, 2023 I received a voicemail from Oasis. It said they had entered the wrong account numbers in and to call them to have money deposited into my account. I called. Was automatically directed somewhere and on hold over and hour.Business Response

I applied for additional funding after I had multiple new medical and dental appointments. My attorney contacted oasis to let them know she supports the additional funding but my application was denied within 24 hours by the underwriter. Why would I be denied if I've had several new adjustments to my lawsuit amount. I feel I was not given a fair review because it doesn't make sense that my attorney tells me I have new monetary adjustments to my case that raised my settlement but oasis saying they don't feel comfortable financing me at this time because of no new updates.
