I moved to an appointment and cancelled my service. Turns out I had over paid my final bill. I reached out to ask about getting it refunded. They told me I had to pay them more so the refund would match a full bill. That's ridiculous. How is it that in 2024 they can't do a partial refund? Never had a problem taking money but trying to get it back was such a hassle I decided it wasn't worth it for.$40. not to mention that for the 17 years I lived in that house they rarely picked up the recycling.

Mr. L****** was offered a full refund. Our credit card payment system that we use cannot do partial refunds only full amounts. That is out of our control. I simply told Mr. L****** that there would be a balance owed for services rendered. He used one month of trash service and paid for 3 months. Mr. L****** called to cancel service on 4/29/24 and we adjusted the bill that day while on the phone with him to match services he used he said he'd go online and pay the final bill, which he did, but he paid the wrong amount. It states on the back of the bills we send out 4 times a year that we do not do refunds only on annual payments. Mr. L****** paid very well so we were willing to give him his refund. I told him it takes about 10 business days to get back onto his card. and that here would be a $17 balance owed. This was on 8/22/24. He replied and I quote "Then don't worry about. It shouldn't be that difficult. But know if I buy another home I won't be using lake area for my trash service. Plus I'm pretty sure that is illegal to require. But whatever."

Unfortunately, the office staff is more worried about deflecting their inadequacies toward the customer than accepting responsibility. My recycling had been missed 4 times (not in a row) and I thought a brighter container would catch the driver’s eye. I took in my bin to exchange it. When I told them what happened and that I would like a bright colored bin: 1) they first told me it was a new driver (although this had happened in the past) 2) Next I was told “Maybe you didn’t sort it right”, to which I explained how I did it. 3) Next I was asked what time I set my recycling out. I heard them come by and neighbors recycling was picked up. I told them they were finger pointing at me, to which they totally denied. I asked them why they didn’t just apologize and get me a new bin? Then they told me my service was cancelled! Hope their front line employees don’t miss the $20 per person at Christmas. Bad office employees, good riddance!
