Original contract December 6, 2002 with annual renewal. After several years Barcom changed the date of annual payment to July 1. This was the new annual date of renewal. Cancellation notice was provided to Barcom on May 28, 2024. This complied with the 30 day cancellation requirement prior to the end of the annual contract. Barcom argues that the date of contract renewal is December 6 and required me to pay them $129.17 when no services were provided. I believe the contract has an annual renewal of July 1 when the annual payment is due. Barcom threatened to take me to small claims court. I can't afford the time off work so I paid the bill.

******** ****** signed his original contract on December 6th 2002 for a 36month term. This contract auto renews year to year once the 36months has been fulfilled.  ******** was set up on quarterly billing till July 1st 2017 when he asked to start paying his monitoring by the year. At this time his billing would go from July 1 2017 through June 30th 2018 and from year to year after this. The dates he pays for his monitoring has nothing to do with his contract term date. His contract would still renew year to year on December 6th. This is why he received a bill out from July 1st 2024 through December 5th 2024 of $129.17. This was explained to him from our accounting department over the phone and in writing.

I have attached the contract and the email that our accounting department sent. Please let me know if you need anything else.

I went into a contract with Barcom Security for an alarm system for my home, in 2020. I had a 36 month contract with them. I made a call to request when my contract would end and I was given a date. After the date ended, I was told and sent information, via letter stating that my contract had ended. Now that I want to close my account, this company has altered my contract to pro rate my bill. The are stating that I signed another contract of which I did not. My alarm key pad is not working and I will not allow them to come back because they charged me $471.00 plus $109.00 for the home visit. I had no knowledge it would cost this much. If I did I would not have agreed to it. I call for repairs for my door bell ring and when the guy came out to fix the problem, it was still broken. Now my keypad battery is not working, I refuse to let them come back to replace it. The charges are escalating each visit.

*****'s original contract signed on 10-22-20 for 36 months renewed for one year on 10-22-23 as stated in Section 1. In October of 2022 ***** sent in a cancelation request and I spoke with her to informed her that she was still under contract and that Barcom would bill her out for the remaining portion if she canceled. At that time ***** decided to keep her system monitored. In November of 2022 ***** sent in another request for Barcom to send her a notification a month before her contact would renew as a reminder for her to cancel and this is not Barcom's responsibility to remind a customer when their contract would renew.

After reviewing all of the paperwork and notes in *****'s file, I can see that all she wants to do is have her monitoring canceled. Since we are only a few month into the renewal year, I will give the approval to our Accounting Department  to stop any further billing on this account and inform our Central Station to stop the monitoring at ****************************************************************************** as of Thursday, February 29th 2024.

I would like to know what this company plans to charge as an exit fee. I do not want any over charge fees applied to my account. I will send the equipment back to their company upon receiving a forwarding address.
