I had a poorly manufactured roof on my 5th wheel camper. At first, heartland tried to claim it was water damage and completely my fault without any evidence of it being such in order to not pay out warranty to have the roof repaired. In order for them to understand that it IS infact very poor and shoddy manufacturing, I had to pay out of pocket to get it into a shop and have the roof taken apart to show that there were broken rafters from factory, lack of sufficient support, some rafters simply not attached and at bare minimum, maybe 60 screws in the entire roof of a 45' 5th wheel. Not only is this a huge liability on their part due to incredible oversights, but it could have collapsed, caused injury, or who knows what else while traveling many miles up and down the east coast. Heartland refuses to cover payment to have the roof PROPERLY redone. Instead, they want to cover bare minimum, even after acknowledging that a roof repair/replacement was easily a $******* job. In order to rectify this, I want heartland to cover the repairs in full that brought it up to proper specs, plus diminished value since the ceiling inside is still showing signs of sagging due to the poor manufacturing in the first place.

Purchased a new 2022 heartland fuel 305 from camping world in birch run Mi June of 2022. Have had several issues with rv but the main and most concerning is that the roof is bad and they will not repair or replace it. I have numerous emails and phone calls with them over the time Ive owned it. Most recently is going on right now. The roof is still bad and they wont fix it as it was denied by management November 15, 2024. Shortly after I purchased the rv I noticed the roof issue and had at the service department of camping world. The service manger at the time told me and my life that corporate office knew they had a bad rv but was told to sell without telling buyer. They said the buyer can bring it back for warranty work if they caught it.

      Customer Answer

      Date: 11/26/2024

You purchased the unit 6/7/2022 the rv comes with a one year warranty, and 3 year limited structural warranty.
The roof membrane has a 12 year warranty on it with the Vendor Dicor of the membrane.

The membrane is not the concern. The structure under the wood is the concern. New development in this issue. We bought a NEW Heartland Sundance Ultra Lite RV. While we love the layout, the workmanship is horrible. We started having issues with mice. Including me finding a mouse and babies in my pajama drawer. So, I started searching for spots where they could come in. I found a 10x10 hole under the bathroom sink where I could see the underside and a slit in the underbelly vinyl and I could see the ground. I found a 4x4 hole in the floor under the shower. These holes should have been filled in. My husband is disabled and I am 65 yrs old. I have been crawling around on the floor trying to fill these holes. This is a BAD manufacturing issue. Heartland should have to fix these holes. We paid a lot of money for this RV.

      Customer Answer

I filed a claim against Heartland RVs.    We bought a Heartland Sundance Ultra Lite travel trailer last year, new(2023).    We have had it on a seasonal spot.    After being away for 2 weeks, we came to spend time at the trailer and I found a LIVE mouse and babies in my pajama drawer.    I then found thousands of mouse turds in my upper cupboards.     I had to clean and clean and caught another mouse in my cupboard in a trap.    I filed the claim against Heartland because after hunting around I found multiple holes in the floor of the trailer.    ***************************** at heartland responded to the claim on BBB and made it sound like if we had a mobile tech come out and look and take pictures, they would do something.    So, I had a mobile tech come out and he took 12 pictures of holes and bad workmanship on the underside of the trailer.    I paid the mobile tech $275 to come out.    I sent all the pictures to ******* at heartland.    There was barely a minute after I sent the pictures that ******* answered back DENYING the claim.    I don't think she even had time to look at them she answered so fast.

We have owned travel trailers manufactured by other vendors for over 5 years.   We owned park models before that for over 20 years.    We have NEVER had a single mouse in any trailer in all those years.

This is shoddy workmanship and manufacturing and heartland should get negative reviews for their workmanship and their negative response.     We paid a lot of money for this trailer and should not have mice.

I am rejecting this response because:  the letter states they are working with me.    They are not.    When I sent pictures to ******* *******, there is no way she even looked at them as she responded back to my email within SECONDS with a denial.    ALL the holes in the bottom of the trailer are due to bad MANUFACTURING.     Obviously heartland does not stand up for their workmanship.     Negative reviews will be starting now.

      Customer Answer

I am rejecting this response because:    there are multiple holes in the underside of the trailer which shows shoddy manufacturing.     There is a 3 year manufacturing warranty sticker on the side of the trailer and in a photo.    Of the 12 photos I sent, only 1 show a mouse eaten hole.    All the others were manufacturing holes.      Heartland is a joke and I will keep fighting this.   13 months does not matter when their own sticker says 3 year manufacturing warranty.     We want these holes fixed.    And there are holes on the inside floor that I had to fill to keep more mice from coming in.    I sent the filled in pictures to ******* *******.

I purchased a new Fuel toy hauler with an extended warranty. I have been dealing with camping world and **** ****** at Heartland. No one wants to help me. Several items have broken including the onboard generator which to this day no one from ******* has contacted me to tell me the part is available. I spent more than $65000 on this until. The generator, the ac unit, water lines, propane hosed, toilet, bunk bed broke and fell in the middle of the night with my 7 year old on it, window valance, cupboard doors, slide out issues, other items as well. **** ****** was rude to me and told me my unit was still usable in a campground with hook **** We dry camp. This unit is still not fixed and I do not trust it after all the issues it still has to use with my children. I have tried to rectify this without filing complaints or lawsuits and I am ignored. No one wants to take responsibility for this large expensive lawn ornament. I was told it was built during covid and they hired whomever they could. I will be filing multiple complaints with multiple government agencies. I just want what I paid for. I have many emails and text messages. Too many to upload.

I am rejecting this response because:
This has been going on for more than a year and I am the middle man between the dealership and the manufacturer.  I have been getting the run around with no resolution.  This unit is a lemon and I have reported all issues to the dealership and the dealership had the unit for extensive amounts of time and I have not been able to use the unit as I intended when I purchased it.  I want a camper I can use at my discretion that is what I paid for. I am also communicating with the dealership.  I am trying to have the dealership help me with *******. My child was injured due to lack of mfg care or concern. I will not accept any response from heartland until this is appropriately resolved and true consumer customer service takes place.  ********************** makes a lot of money off of hard working consumers that get taken advantage of and they do not care about what they sell. The unit is scheduled to go to cummins on 9/18/24. From there it will go back to camping world AGAIN. I will not accept or agree to end my complaint until I receive customer satisfaction for all the items that are wrong with thus unit, the injuries to my child, stress, headache, aggravation, and the fact I have been paying for a unit that has not been usable. I will be filing complaints with other government agencies.  Also, how is Heartland going to inspect the unit when they are closing the local plant near me? Must be manufacturing faulty units.

Purchased a fifth wheel camper from stagecoach rvs in **** *******. Camper was a 2024 heartland milestone. Was purchased on June 27th of 2024, got it to the campgrounds later that night and set it up. Immediately upon setup. I noticed my hot water didnt work, kitchen sink had no water pressure and the bedroom ac dont work. All of which turned out to be warranty claims heartland covered. Fast forward 1 week. I now have a piece of trim that came off the wall that got caught under my slide when I went to run the slide out, it fell off during transport. Come to find out there wasnt any nails in it, so they covered that. Now as of August 5th 2024 Ive had 8 total warranty issues, and there starting to deny claims. *** spent probably $1000-$1500 in hotel rooms whiles it in dealership getting repaired, lost groceries due to having the wrong fridge installed, and other travel related expenses. Ill have to unfortunately start to seek legal help in this matter.

      Dear **************** and **************,

Thank you for your prompt response to my concerns regarding the 2024 Heartland Milestone (Unit #*****************, Model 333MB), which I purchased on June 27, 2024, from Stagecoach RV Sales in ****, *******. I appreciate your ongoing communication and efforts to resolve the issues with my unit.

However, I must respectfully disagree with Heartland RVs proposed course of action. Since my initial complaint, I have discovered three additional significant defects in the unit, including multiple holes in the roof, furniture that is coming apart, and vents that have completely detached. These issues, coupled with the previously unresolved problems, demonstrate a clear pattern of defective workmanship and quality control that cannot be adequately addressed by standard warranty repairs.

Furthermore, I would like to reiterate my concern regarding the improper refrigerator installation in my unit. The refrigerator installed is not the 12-volt model as advertised on your website and is not listed as an option under the package details or in the vehicles cut sheet. This discrepancy further supports my position that the unit is not as advertised and does not meet the standards expected from Heartland RV.

Given these circumstances, I find Heartland RVs refusal to repurchase the unit unacceptable. The multitude of issues, both new and ongoing, has rendered the unit unusable and unreliable. Therefore, I am requesting that Heartland RV reimburse me for the full cost of the unit. I believe this is the only fair and just resolution given the extent of the defects and the failure to deliver a product that meets the advertised specifications.

      Dear **************** and **************,

Thank you for your continued efforts to address the issues with my 2024 Heartland Milestone (Unit #*****************, Model 333MB). However, I must inform you of a new and pressing concern. The refrigerator installed in the unit is now failing and making horrible noises, which is both disturbing and indicative of a mechanical issue.

Given this new development, I request that the refrigerator be replaced immediately. As previously discussed, the refrigerator currently installed is not the 12V model that was advertised on your website and expected by me at the time of purchase. Therefore, I ask that a 12V refrigerator of the same size be installed in my unit as a replacement.

I appreciate your prompt attention to this matter and look forward to a swift resolution.

      Sincerely,

Purchased a 2020 Heartland Mallard. In July of 2023 I noticed a small bubbling area on the trailer while camping. This trailer does not sit in the sun when stored. I took it to Camperworld right away. Left it at *********** for a year to work with Heartland to have this fixed. They did not submit any claims until May 2024. That is a whole other story. I went to pick up the ** in June 2024. The WHOLE trailer has severe delamination see picutres. Camperworld performed a water test. The test shows that there is only one roof leak on the front passenger side of the trailer. The water test shows window leaks on the window seals and the windows were not sealed. CW told me this is not something that owners need to maintain this is something that should have been done during the build. CW will cover the cost of the front passenger side delaminating because it sat for a year while they dropped the ball. The other areas of delamination is all over the trailer which is not caused by water damage according to the tests ran by CW.. It is bad glue that was used on my trailer during the build. This is a known issue with this model. My trailer is only 4 years old and I have several several people tell me that is not normal to have that much severe delamination especially all over the trailer. Bad glue is not my fault but the fault of the manufacture. You pay thousands of dollars to have this happen. That is not ok. Build a better trailer. If this is a problem the warranty needs to extend further than 3 years. Horrible product.

My trailer is a 2019. The propane hose was put through a metal component that ever time got a leak, due to it being pinched in two places. This is a manufacturing error. I didn't know about it until I could smell the leaking propane and tracked down the problem. They won't cover it because warranty has expired. This is a significant safety issue and I am shocked they don't feel obligated to cover it as it happened over time to completely break though.

Heartland RV accused of failure to deliver serviceable vehicle Over *************************************************** as of now. 2022 Heartland Torque toy hauler and Camping world where it is being serviced. Purchased new in spring of 2023. No one wants to help as it is in a state where the lemon law does not cover the RVs where they are built (*******). Regardless of where you live or bought it you are required to go to their state to file suit. I can even unload it as I cannot show it to someone it's not in my possession and the dealer is telling me it's worth less that 35% of what the **** was now too.

I am rejecting this response because: They offer no relief, no solutions, and no dialog as usual. As the consumer they have stacked the chips on you and hide is a sanctuary state that protects the businesses bad products and practices. They don't even try to help because they don't have to, and they know it. That IS why they are built in *******; the consumer has no normal rights like anywhere else with any other similar products. Lemon laws that were created to protect the consumer from businesses like heartland and their bad products and practices. Shame on them and shame on the state of ******* this is about greed they don't care about their customers, and it shows.

I am rejecting this response because: It is more generic responses not addressing the actual issues. In addition, it has been identified for 4+ more repairs after the shower is replaced. Unfortunately, we are long from done on this repair.

The real issue is the fact I have not had use of the camper for nearly the whole year I have owned it. From day one it was virtually unusable and a good portion of it was always unusable. while I continue to pay on this without the ability to use it or even sell it to try to protect myself. It will continue to bleed off value and money as the market for the camper continues to plumet while I am hand cuffed to a unrepairable rig and get nothing but brushed off by Heartland. Why am I not protected in any way form a poorly built product and the only one holding the bag here is me? I did not build a faulty product the dealer didn't... Heartland did! So why is it that they are not responsible to help the consumer like any other product (IE like a car lemon law). Give something for relief for an unserviceable Product! Make an effort of any kind. I have contacted attorneys. I am not going away! I will defend myself from what I see as a predatory company that has not made any effort to make things right.
