I purchased a brand new RV off the factory floor in October of 2024 from Forest River (VIN: *****************). The camper has been used one time and has already had a battery/solar power failure.I have called several times regarding an issue with the battery not being charged by the solar panels. The camper battery went completely dead after being parked while not in use. All electrical appliances were turned off while we had it in an uncovered storage area. The manufacturer offers a one year warranty plus I purchased an extended warranty for a total spend of $32,385. In addition, due to the lack of response by Forest River, I purchased a brand new battery for $200 to replace the dead one and it too has stopped working (within a month of installation)Thank you,*****Business Response

The issue is the wiring connecting the solar panels to the battery. Clearly a manufacturer issue.Business Response

My wife and I received a ******* video on the ******* River Hemisphere Roost43 and thought that this could be the one. With our location being in ********** and the business selling the ** was in ****, we thought it should be good to go for winter. We asked questions regarding viability for winter use and were advised it would be perfect. We received the ** at the beginning of the year (2025). The first issue I found was that no winterization had been completed. The tank showing winterized was turned to normal use. Thinking back, I should have complained. But I did not. Within a few days, we found water leaking out of the ** onto the ground. We immediately contacted a repair service (**** with ******** ** Repair) who came out and located the issues. The water heater was leaking while under pressure and the water filter had been attached incorrectly (top was ***** and leaking). **** showed me the locations and suggested a temporary bypass of the systems. Photos were taken for later email to ******* ** I asked for a report, received and forwarded the report to ******* **. Until two (2) days ago, we have had no hot or filtered water. ******* ** advised that ******* River would not accept the report due to the word "diagnosed". Also they would not reimburse us the funds paid to correct the issues that should have been noted back at ******* River. We should have never received the ** is this condition. There is even a sticker on the ** showing it passed inspection. I asked ******* ** to send me the name/email address for the person that they were working with. I received the name ********* ******* with ******* River (Warranty issues) and sent her the information. She sent out replacement parts but did not identify the company that would perform the required repairs. This is a bad way to handle issues that should have been found back at the factory. We request assistance with receiving a refund of $800 for the repairs we have had to pay. Pics available.Customer Answer

Purchased a 2024 Timberwolf 20OG travel trailer from Hitch **(authorized dealer who was brought out by "Camping World") in DE for $59,986.35 on 8/2/2024 and paid an extra $1000 to have it delivered and set up. I immediately experienced multiple defects with the unit as follows:1. Screen sliding door was originally off track and did not operate or lock/ Authorized Tech could not fix it 2. Toilet Valve broke/ Purchased and replaced myself 3. Bathroom Faucet stopped workin/ Purchased and replaced myself 4. Windows will not close fully or lock (life safety)/ Authorized Tech could not fix 5. HVAC System does not supply to front half of unit/ Authorized Tech sais duct is crushed in the ceiling and is unaccessible for repair 6. Interior Door overcut (top and bottom) 4" gaps that make compartmentalized door useless/ Authorized Tech cannot repair 7. Electrical Outlet not operating correctly with burning smell(life safety)/ Authorized Tec does not have a clue 8. Loft carpet screws protruding (hazard)/ Authorized Tech will not touch because might cause larger problem.9. Shower k**** missing at delivery (improperly repaired)10. Dining folding table (broken)11. Water Pump stopped working (I replaced)12. Shower base and walls are very flimsy and insecure/ Tech sais that the entire shower should be replaced 13. Forest River has reached out directly and has come to an agreement with this customer.Customer Answer
Date: 05/02/2025
I am rejecting this response because Forest River has offered:
1. I must make arrangements with swedesboro NJ "Camping World" a Forest River Authorized Dealer to have my 2024 trailer transported to their facility with no cost to myself. I have attempted to do this with no success yet. I will continue to try.
2. Forest River will then take my 2024 from "Camping World" to Forest River Manufacturing facility in ******* to complete repairs. After repairs, my 2024 would be taken back to "Camping World' where I can inspect the repairs and OK delivery from "Camping World" to my home with no charge for transportation.
3. This Repair process is promised by Forest River to take place mid-june 2025 which is also mid-camping season. So I loose most of the camping season.
4. Forest River also promises to extend the Manufacturer's Warranty to compensate for the time of "loss use" by myself.
5. None of this is in writing, and as I said, I'm still trying to set up the pick-up of my 2024 ahead of time with "Camping World" of Swedesboro, N.J. with ho success so far.
6. I emailed "Camping World" of ********** on April 29, 2025 and telephoned 2 time in attempt to get the mid-june transfer set up, but have not received a response to date.

Forest River has now been in direct contact with this customer via email to address the concerns expressed in this complaint.Customer Answer
Date: 05/09/2025
I am rejecting this response because: The business has verbally promised to take my 20OG Timberwolf to it's Indiana Manufacturing plant and make all repairs that I am complaining about. The business also verbally promises to extend the 1 year warranty to accommodate these repairs to accommodate "down time" and "lost use". These repairs are promised to take place around mid-june 2025. The process requires me to reach out to a third party dealership "Camping World Swedesboro, N.J.) and make arrangements for pick-up at my home because Forest River policy only allows pick up from a recognized dealer. No cost is to be born by me the Complainant in the pick up and the drop off of the unit by "Camping World" or the transport to Indiana and back. First of all, I would like to have all this in writing. Secondly, the first part of this process is already failing. Numerous attempts to contact "Camping World Swedesboro N.J." have gone unanswered and unreturned. Email, Certified Letter, Telephone Calls. I have tried to make the pick up appointment well in advance to make the transition easier for all parties but Camping World has not responded. This is not a good sign of good faith. I mean, why couldn't Forest River set this whole transaction/transport up? I do not accept the response that the business is representing to the BBB to resolve this complaint between me and them. In fact, it is looking more surer for me to just receive a refund and return the 2024 Timberwolf 20OG. That is my best option. To be put back to my original state before this flawed deal with a very defective travel trailer.Business Response

The transport companies that we contract with require that someone is present when they pick up the RV. If the unit is at a dealership, then it makes scheduling so much easier as someone is always there during business hours.
If you are having trouble making arrangements, please reach out to us directly for assistance.

I bought an East to ************************* 261rb 2024 in February 5th 2024. I have each trip we have had it out we have had to go straight to warranty. So far weve had the trailer **** continued blowing fuses, the roof was leaking and had to be resealed, the slide out was not properly aligned and was shaving pieces of the ceiling off, the door in the bedroom came off the hinges and put. Hole in the wall, now as of this trip the hot water heater control unit in the bathroom will not allow us to set a temperature and reads EC and the power awning does not work either. I have contacted the ** department for lemon laws and they reached out and was able to not get a resolution. I am reaching out because I have got a lemon of a camper and very unhappy with having to continuously take it for warranty repair. All repairs have been done at optimum rv in *********** SC if you would like to reach out to see all repairs. Thanks,******* *******Customer Answer

My husband and I had bought a 2024 wildwood 29view in January of '24. We picked it up from dealership and brought it home. We took one trip in June for the season. When we were out we noticed things that were defected and made note of each item that needed attention. We made an appointment with dealership to get issues repaired for warranty work. (Outside plug coming out from the wall, outside door not latching and rough to open, outside fridgerator door not opening due to spacing with outer camper) All the little items were fixed as we have been told. The one slide of the camper happens to be my sons bedroom slide. After listening and looking, the top of the slide comes flush to the camper when pulled in but the bottom sticks out a foot or so from the camper being pulled completely in. When pulling slide in, the mechanism sounds faulty and cranks oddly. We have contacted forest river warranty numerous times when our claim has been denied saying said issue is cosmetic. This is not a cosmetic issue since the whole slide will not seal to the camper side. We have explained this to forest river warranty. The dealership has been on our side the whole time and has sent adequate evidence about the issue. After speaking to warranty they said they would get with the service department to find a solution. Warranty keeps giving the run around about accepting the claim for fixing but the claim is still denied. The service department has not had any communication regarding a solution just that our claim has been denied. The dealership has had said camper since October of 2024 untouched, bottom of slide trim has been removed and they have covered exposed areas, since no one wants to find a solution to a brand new camper that has been defective since purchase. Forest River sent a tech to the dealership to inspect the RV. The tech performed an adjustment. Following the adjustment the slide operation was thoroughly tested and found that it was working as designed. If there are any further issues, please let us know.Customer Answer

I am rejecting this response because:
After the dealership had said it was ready to be picked up, my husband was on his way to pick it up. A call came that it was indeed not ready for pick up. The adjustment did not fix the problem. Forest river decided it needed to be transported to their facility to be fixed. After a week of them having it, it still has not been fixed and they still haven't come up with a solution for the problem. The claim has been open since OCTOBER 2024. Why hasn't this been addressed until now. I'm paying for something I can not use and a site that sits empty.Business Response

In July 2024, I purchased a new travel trailer. During the delivery walk-through, the representative closed the door forcefully to latch it and mentioned that, as a new unit, the door would adjust with use. Being my first travel trailer, I accepted his explanation. However, several months later, the door still did not close properly and became harder to latch. Consequently, I contacted an authorized service provider to schedule a repair. While scheduling, I was incorrectly informed that the door warranty was only 90 days. Upon contacting the manufacturer, I spoke to ****** ********, who verified that the warranty period was one year. She also mentioned that the original dealer had already submitted a claim for the door. Ms. ******** requested photos and videos of the door to assist in resolving the issue. When I delivered the trailer for service, the dealer submitted a claim to replace the door but was only authorized to perform an adjustment. After the adjustment, while the door was somewhat easier to close, it still required more effort than other campers' doors. On the first day after the adjustment, the door progressively became harder to close, eventually being worse than before.I reached out to Forest River again, who suggested taking it in for another adjustment. The servicing dealer is over two hours away from my residence and believes that an adjustment is insufficient to resolve the issue, but Forest River has not authorized a door replacement. I am concerned that the continued delays will result in the warranty expiring as we approach the one-year anniversary of purchasing the unit. This situation has been frustrating, and I am dissatisfied with the handling of my case.Customer Answer

Bought a 2024 XLR Micro Boost from a dealer in ****. It was brand new . This RV is a toy hauler. On the specs the garage is able to safely hold ***** pounds. Our ATV weights 900, we have pulled our atv in and out twice. Noticed some bowing on the garage door. Took it into dealer and were quoted $5400 to repair the garage door. It is broken, we are unable to use it . Forest River has has been giving us the run-around for weeks. Our insurance has denied our claiming due to it being structural . If a company claims a ramp door can hold up to 3000 pounds and you have loaded up a 900 atv twice there is no reason it should be broken. Built illegally and cheaply.Business Response

I bought a new 2023 grey wolf pull behind trailer. It was listed as new on the lot when we purchased it in the fall of 2024. Since buying this camper we have had leak issues from the start that we questioned upon buying. Also we have had a tank less water heater replaced before ever using it due to shorting out the circuit board twice. The roof leak has gotten worse and caused mildew and mold as well as damaged wood and paneling within camper. This has been admitted to and deemed a manufactured error and is now being asked to have camper pulled to ******* where the home of Forest river is to be fixed. This is not acceptable. We have asked to get a full replacement and for them to keep the camper and resell as used. They are making us wait until April to pick it up and this is ridiculous. We will seek legal action if anything but a replacement is the outcome.Customer Answer

I am rejecting this response because: we have been in response with Forest River. That is a lie. We are not accepting that a brand new camper is requiring a trip from ******* to ******* for repairs. We have not used this camper since buying it in September of 2024 and have paid monthly payments on something we have had a manufacture default with leaking since buying it. Replacing wheels and doing patch work is not acceptable as there is more than surface damage on this camper. It is molded within and panels will require complete replacement as well not just in one spot but throughout the entire camper. They are not seeing our perspective on this as a whole. They think this is a small roof patch when in fact per their admittance the roof was knowingly installed wrong and patched when built. We are declaring this a lemon. We have had wiring issues a replaced tankless water heater a faulty ac and fridge. Possible wiring damage due to leaking. They refuse to listen to the fact that a new camper is being turned to used without having any use of it other than taking it back and forth for issues.Business Response

Purchased 2025 Forest River Grand Surveyor 305RLBS (VIN: *****************) Nov. from ******* of ******. RV had faulty slide-out (repaired) & misrepresented 'inverter prep' solar setup. Forest River advertised off-grid functionality for AC, etc., but system only powers GFCI outlets. Forest River offered 2 monthly payments for slide-out issue, but this is inadequate. Forest River was provided proof of advertised off-grid capabilityCustomer Answer

I am seeking compensation for the inconvenience and costs accrued.

Forest River has been in contact with the customer. We have determined that the document downloaded from the Surveyor Website is a Reference Guide for all ******** Solar Systems. We do not advertise the contents of the guide. An inverter prep sticker indicates the location of the inverter. Our solar prep is the solar panels on the roof top and the inverter that will operate your GFIs in the RV.
The time frame the unit was not available to be used due to the slide out repair would be 60 days. For the customer's inconvenience and frustration, ********************** is happy to offer reimbursement.Customer Answer
Date: 03/08/2025
I am rejecting this response because: Forest River has been trying to shift the blame for this to the dealer, to my own ineptitude, and to the manufacturers of the products they install on their trailers. I was very specific in my requirements for off grid electrical use. The dealership reached out to the manufacturer many times for clarification of the off grid capabilities. I am attaching several screenshots of documents on the Forest River website under my specific trailer. I searched through the owner's manual, as well as each additional manual and resource listed. I've included the documentation where it specifies multiple days off grid use in my original complaint. The attached document includes additional places throughout their website where the inverter that Forest River chose to install is described. There is nothing indicating that off grid capabilities are limited, as long as you have the correct equipment installed by Forest River. They did not ask me which inverter prep I wanted, nor did they ask me where or how to install it. They made these choices based on my requested features. If they can not make good on their promises or cover the costs associated with any additional equipment or rewiring necessary for the ** to perform as described, I am requesting a full refund. The contract is void, as there was no meeting of the minds. Forest River provided the documentation on their website indicating these capabilities. There was no disclaimer about being directed to another manufacturer's site, or not being responsible for the contents of other manufacturer's documentation. They should have done their due diligence in advertising and selecting the equipment installed on their customized **'s. In addition, since this started, I have found multiple previous customer complaints across many platforms indicating the same problem going back several years. Forest River was obviously aware of this inaccurate description, and still did nothing to mitigate it.
