Our furnace was installed in the attic in year 2000. Nunning HVAC installed a new furnace in 2016 on top of the old 2000 drain pan. The drain pan was old and rusted out causing our bedroom ceiling to collapse from water leaking out. We made contact with Nunning to come assess our problem. Instead they sent a technician, Steve, who immediately saw the problem saying that whoever installed that new furnace was wrong in using that drain line. He said that Nunning uses an additional drain line in case the pan got water in it to drain it out. That would alert us that there was a problem. My wife, Donna, told him that Nunning did it and that confused him, then! After two or three phone calls to his home office he found out that Nunning did install that new furnace in 2016 using the old pan/drain line. He told my wife that we would not be charged for that call to analyze the problem. He did no work to fix the problem. Instead, he called his supervisor at the office to find out that Nunning did install our new furnace. He told my wife again that we would not be billed because they should of redid the pan/drain line to their standards. We were just going to eat the ceiling damage cost. Months later we got a $190 bill for two hours work that was not done! Steve came on May 2, 2022 and spent approximately 30 minutes talking to my wife before and after the two or three phone calls to his office. If Nunning would had installed that new 2016 furnace on a new drain pan with that additional safety drain line, we would not have had the ceiling damage in our bedroom. We reluctantly paid that $190 bill but feel like we were taken advantage of especially after being told that there would be no charge! We had another HVAC Co. assess our problem and they said it was done wrong as well. This other company uses a float switch that shuts down the unit when water gets in the pan to alert us of a problem.
