Had my back deck, sidewalk, and garage approach replaced early this year by with decorative concrete by Good Schroeder Decorative Concrete company. For the most part the job turned out great with dark brown simulated wood stamping and cobblestone patterns, except for a 14 ft section of the sidewalk on the side of the house that turned white when the sealer was applied. ****, the owner, promised to come back at a later date to fix the sealer because we had rain in the near forecast. After a few weeks I started to follow up with him about the repairs. Each time he committed to come the following week to repair it claiming it was a 15 min fix to release the moisture and reseal it. Every few weeks I'd follow up again with similar response and how he forgot or was working out of town that week. (I am 15 mins from his house). This was 6 months ago. He has now blocked my number and blocked me from his ** page. After paying more than $26k for the job and quoting a future job to do my front porch and sidewalk, you'd think he would value me as a customer and come back to correct the admitted mistake. I've since had another contractor quote the repairs for $500. I'd like the promised repairs made by this company or refund of $500 to have the repairs made by another.Business Response

They came out and made a complete mess, didn't do the job we paid for, blew paint and sand all over our home, patio furniture, our contractors tools, and into our pool. Then left and refused to respond to my husband after he told them about it. I should have looked at their 2.8 rating on ****** before we contacted them (our bad). They were supposed to remove all of our paint around the pool to see if they could stain it. They couldn't (which is fine) we agreed on them removing the paint and said we would just repaint it. He did this, and left. Charged $1700 and will not refund. I pressure wash this deck twice per year and have NEVER made a mess, let alone blow it into the pool. It was like a giant toddler came out and now that's who we are dealing with. Find someone else for your sake. He did respond to me and and said that was 100% worth $1700 In the pictures, the blue is the bottom layer, that is what the entire patio should have looked like. There is STILL paint particles in the pool that I can't get out.Business Response

** ******** reached out to me about his pool deck, had some issues with areas that were lower than other areas, originally told him it needed to be removed and replaced that would be the best option. He wasn’t sure he wanted to go that route because as he called the house was a money trap. He was worried about the structure beneath the pool as it sits 10 to 14 feet up above the backyard, I had someone from ****** ******** go out and take a look at the structure, and he explained that it was deteriorating, so the homeowner asked me to give him an estimate on removing two or three coats of pool deck, paint, to get it down to the original coat, what that means is you can’t put chemical products on it as the chemical products would strip it down to the original concrete, so we used a high end pressure washer for about 12 hours over the course of two days and attempted to get it removed, I wasn’t sure we would get it removed and explain that to the homeowner, and told him if it didn’t come off, we would take the original 1700 and apply it to removing all the concrete, he was on board and thank me, after a day and a half of attempting it, I called him and let him know that we weren’t able to get it off, and then let me know what his next step would be, and we left, he called or messaged that evening and asked if I could remove all the paint chips from the bottom of the pool from where the pressure washer peeled some off, I said yes my son and another kid would be there the following morning to remove them, he messaged later on that night with a picture showing me that they had a pool cleaner and they had put it in the bottom of the pool, and it was removing all the paint jets, they also had a deck being built above us, it was basically a remodel, windows, being painted, lots of work being done to House, his wife reached out and expected all her money to be returned about a month or so later and was not very nice on the messages, I explained to her that I had five guys one day, three guys the following day, she wasn’t happy about that and said she wanted all the money return, which of course isn’t fair we had labor in the job, I told her about all she would get back would be a few hundred dollars, and she said no, and that’s the last I spoke with her because she wasn’t being cooperative at all and I had had enough, husband was very nice, he’s the one that hired me, and that’s how it all endedInitial Complaint

On June 2, 2023, I contacted **** with Schroeder Decorative Concrete to inquire if he would be interested in pouring a driveway extension and sidewalk connecting our backyard patio. He came to the house, measured and provided a cost of $3600.00 on the same day. He stated that he would start the job in about one month. On June 21, I paid a 50% deposit in cash (I have a signed receipt) at which time he gave a timeline of the first week of July. After many delays, two of his employees came on Sept. 15 to remove the remaining dirt (my husband had the area almost fully prepped prior to their arrival) and frame. I noticed they weren't framing according to my agreement with ****, and when questioned, they refused to wait until **** could be contacted and left. I contacted **** who stated that his employees misunderstood his instruction but they would get the job completed. After more delays, he texted on Oct. 5 to advise that he would not be completing the job as we had agreed, that he would only complete as his employees had framed it. Ultimately, he stopped responding to my text messages and refused to return phone calls. We want the full amount of the deposit returned to us since he refused to complete the job. (I have printed our entire text conversation and have pictures of the unfinished job. However, I will need to fax these to you as I do not have the ability to upload the documents.)Business Response

Good morning here are the pictures of the proof of work, and there is the message that I simply gave her my response to that. It was a bad idea to put those on the ground when you can have them lifted up and setting on concreteCustomer Answer

I am rejecting this response because:I have attached photos of the work my husband did prior to Schroeder Concrete. The photos are date stamped showing the dirt removal done by my husband. The project overlapped with a new roof. The roofing contractor took some of the photos. I also attached photos of the project completed as Todd Schroeder claimed he couldn’t, but only after agreeing to do the job as requested and taking the deposit. Please let me know if you have any questions.****** ***
