We were told we were approved for a mobility chair for a patient with ALS.Almost a year later, they send us a bill for thousands of dollars, stating, we were NOT approved and owed them the money. They refused to take the chair back, because it past time they can accept it.

I was sent to the ER  after testing positive for Covid. Because I've had severe complications in the past, the Urgent Care advised me to go to Parkview ER specifically, and let them know that with my history, they recommend the infusion over the pill. I spoke to the doctor all of 5 to 7 minutes total in the two visits to my room. He was cold, uninterested, and talked over me. While he did check with the pharmacy to make sure the medication didn't conflict with my currents meds, he didn't listen AT ALL when I told him I had pre-existing conditions and had been hospitalized before. His excuse was, "We've come a long way from when this first started. The Urgent Care doctors are just being lazy." 5 days later, I was sent BACK to the ** (a different hospital than Parkview, thankfully) by my PCP, where I have to be placed on oxygen so high, I was at the level before intubation and was then admitted to the *** for about 5 days. Part of my treatment was the infusion Parkview felt I didn't need because the pill was the "recommended treatment".I have written a letter and talked to their advocate services twice which was a joke. Both times, I've received a letter stating that the doctor and the hospital medical director felt that the recommendation of the pill was the "correct course of action". If it was, how did I end up in the *** receiving the infusion along with breathing treatments to clear my lungs enough to where I could breathe on the lowest level of oxygen and still test positive 2 weeks after my original test. After the Parkview ** doctor did NOTHING, they still have the audacity to charge me and my insurance almost $3,000 for a visit that did nothing, and a doctor that did nothing, on top of the extra expenses of having to go back to another ** and pay for the *** expenses. I will NEV** go to Parkview if I have a choice. I know my presence isn't going to hurt them like they did me however, if I can caution anyone, I will.

Thank you for sharing your concerns.  Please be assured the Patient Advocate office has had the concerns shared reviewed twice by the Medical Directors for the Emergency Departments.  During the reviews it was found that the care and treatment provided was appropriate.  The Advocate office sent letters sharing the details of the reviews on the following dates: May 25, 2023 and June 19, 2023. We appreciate the BBB sharing you continue to be unhappy with the services and follow-up provided by Parkview and are sorry it was not the outcome you had hoped for.

They say they take mental health seriously but will wait three days to transfer a patient to another facility who can help them with blood clots that were life threatening. The hospital doctor refused to come back and fill the paperwork out for this patient to be transferred to another facility to receive the treatment they need and then no other doctor would fill out the paperwork to help. The patient had to stay another day due to the lack of care and concern and the lack of compassion for the patient. They helped raise the anxiety level and didnt care about the patient who was suffering!
